Satakal concept

I was thinking that Satakal, Yoku god who eats worlds to recreate them anew, would look like ouroboros to represent neverending cycle of world consuming and creating.

So?
EDIT: Oh you've drawn it because you was thinking of it
The image didn't show up in the first place lol
Nice drawing. Do you want this to be a creature? How would it attack the player? Jumping around his neck?

I believe that it would be a statue, not a creature. Btw you probably couldnt fight one because their in yokudan right?

No, this is just an image of Satakal. I guess this would appear in many standards or different areas under influence of the Yokudan pantheon, especially the Satakal nomads.
The concept looks nice, the style and all, but maybe you should think of a few images to put inside of it for a more ornate standard. I could see simple tapestries with that image on it, but more expensive ones might contain more images inside of the snake.

It's not me who draw it (otherwise I would have put it in my thread). I just found an image on the net. I was hoping for somebody to draw something based on the image.

Ah, I see, well that's too bad, 'cuz that's just the kind of style I would picture Reguard nomads creating such as thing as.

No objections here, that's perfect. However, I imagine the cosmopolitan Redgaurds to have a fancier version. Maybe the snake could be in some kind of elaborite knot while eating itself.

I was thinking more along the lines of something relating to the snake taking up the inside of the circle. Perhaps images of the cycle of life, or perhaps other religious symbol or scenes of the Yokudan. I'm not that familiar with Yokudan, Hammerfell, or it's religions' lore though.

Please read my recent post in Hammerfell Lore topic (lore forum). It states that cosmopolitan Redguards adopted Nine Divines religion.

Well, even so, I think a more ornate design would be appropriate for members of higher religious status(that's the best way I can think of to express it) and for formal ceremonies. Maybe I should do a concept, though I only will if noone else wants to(see previous works, not very good). It's not very pressing... But seeing as the concept art forum is focusing on Hammerfell functional designs, this may come in handy.

and some have even reorganized their gods and tribal spirits to fit into the traditional Imperial pantheon of Eight Divines
First of all, the reader of the PGE coments that that is untrue. Even if it is, it says some, not all. I think certain areas would be less inclined to the imperial way.

To make it clear to the "is it a creature" questioneers, Satakal is a god. He also exists outside of existence itself.
I imagine (but could be wrong in my memory) that Satakal circles Nirn, Oblivion, and Aetherius. This could be represented by having the altars be platforms the priests stand on and do their rituals with this snake forming a small wall around the edge.

Before doing that, remember that Ouroborous has a number of real-life meanings.
Also, the actual serpent constellation (judging by the Orrery in Redguard) isn't long enough for such incestuousness. If you want a circle, perhaps a series of smaller serpents representing the path through the sky and the great cycle, etc, etc.

I was not aware that the Serpent constellation and Satakal were the same thing. The cosmology page at TIL certainly doesn't say that.

They might not be.

Satakal might also be Akatosh in that Akatosh is generally called as forming the outside of the wheel in which the Aedra, Daedra and Nirn lay. Then again, I don't actually know much of Redguard cosmology or theology.
Point is, there is more than one viable possibility here.

I dont think the RL meanings of the ouroboros are important.

I believe that Satakal is Anu and Padomae.

I believe he (or it) is close to Sithis in many aspects. He is the combination of rise and fall, beginning and end, constant change.
He is, simply put, your average quintessential all-encompassing deity, consisting from a unified duality.

Sload is correct.
A fusion of the concepts of Anu and Padomay
from TIL. Any asociation with a particular constilation would be speculation on our part, though I am in favor of such an ascociation.

that Sakatal statue reminds me of the Jormundgander
...you know, the Norse world-snake...
