I'm leaving. My apologies.

Well, I came to TR hoping to make mods and stuff and to really contribute to the project, so I started as a concept artist. But, as it turned out, my concept art was outside of lore. So my concept art is scratch! Wasted! I was hoping to get to use my imagination, but I can forget about that now.

I don't have the time to look through every single book in the TES games to find some new species of animal. And, I can't think of any weapons to put in. And no one bothered to model the weapons that I did draw. Plus, I don't have my digital camera to take photos of my drawings, and my scanner isn't working correctly. Therefore, even if I wanted to put more stuff onto my concept art topic, I wouldn't be able to. It's a huge mess.

I then tried to become a modeller with Blender, but I sucked at modellig. I can't model worth crap, the tutorials didn't help much, and I never had the time to learn how to utilize it properly.

I was hoping to get Morrowind for the computer, but I didn't have the funds, and I still don't. I have a habit of spending my pocket money on something really quickly. Plus, there are a lot of other games I wanted to get.

I don't have a program to create music with, I don't know how or where to get one, and I certainly don't have money to buy a good one. Therefore, I can't help in that department either.

I can't write books; I don't know enough about lore, or magic, or anything to write books or scrolls, no matter how good my grammar or spelling may (or may not) be.

Well, I'm sorry that I didn't contribute to the project.

Call me a quitter or a coward, if you like, but by that time, I won't be around to hear it. <_< >_>

Actually, you can write books. Just try and keep it within the boundaries of lore that you know, and I will take care of the intricicies. We really need people to write books right now, so we could really use you! Don't leave!

Well if he actualy dosent come back that will be a first. It's the norm for people to post an "I'm leaving" thread and check back everyday to see how everyone reacted.

Sorry it didnt work out for you hamlet. But if you cant see how to be creative while staying within restrictions (in this case lore) then concept art is not for you.

Speaking very generally of course... when you're doing concept art you're usually doing it with the intention of someone else modelling an object from it, right. So a concept artist can have all the freedom he wants, but if he expects someone else to put work into it he'd better make it so that someone feels it's worth their time.

I imagine that would be where the fabled "lore" comes in. There *is* a world already out there, with its own history, culture, flora, fauna etc and that's the world most Elder Scrolls modders fell in love with... so any given Elder Scrolls modder who knows 3d modelling is more likely to become interested in a concept art if it fits with what's supposed to be in the world. Chimeras and snowmen aren't... and modelling and animating a creature is like ten thousand times more work than drawing a sketch of it.

Parting is sweet sorrow, Hamlet Shakespeare, farewell.

I didn't know he had made an attempt at drawing until now, as he had done so before my arrival :?

However, if it feels too confining to take guidance and lore within stride (as Macar aptly put it), it wouldn't be your cup o' tea

Am I the only one that doesn't feel all that sympathetic? Not to be an ass or anything, but when I really leave something like this I just go quietly.

Perhaps that same modesty could have been applied to your post in this thread?

Well maybe you should be more modest about your opinions of other peoples modesty! ;)

Not to detract from the significance of either of your opinions or anything.
