Who's moving?

Post by Sload »

I know this has come up and I probably missed a thread just like this, but I was wondering if we could have an easy list of who's going to work on Oblivion and who isn't?

I'll start.

I,

Sload

intend to move to the Oblivion engine.

I plan on starting on Oblivion ASAP (I already reserved a copy of the game), and don't believe I'll do much work on Morrowind once I make the switch.

I don't know. I intended to stick with Morrowind, but will now have to wait and see what the future holds.

Should we make a poll? That would give us the numbers.. or at least the percentages

Poles suck. Lists are better, which is why I would intend to make a list once people had posted.

Hmmmm.....I think blackthrone will stick with Morrowind, maybe one day I'll actually get paid and buy a new graphics card but untill then I think Oblivion will just laugh at my feeble pc.

May you live in intresting times.

I'll go with both, I don't really use CS either, so drawing for both games doesn't seem to hard.

Well, since my current area is voice acting I can work for either in that respect... although moreso for Oblivion because of its large use of voice acting.

In terms of CS, I intend to pick up the Oblviion CS and get to work on Hammerfell hopefully during the late summer (just so I have a chance to play the game first, dont want to ruin the MQ for myself or anything).

I think there's room for people to go back and forth. We will be using the same forums after all, and its not like we're breaking up in two communities.

I'll be sticking with Morrowind till we can put out a playable Map 1, and maybe even Map 2. However, for the art side of things, I will be working on Oblivion. I think its a good idea to have a map 1 download available so that people who are excited about Hammerfell can check out our attention to detail with the Morrowind project.

Not really :) it doesn't bring the CS on the disc.. we still have to wait a bit for they to release it... After they have the stupid licenses....lets hope they make it... and not only release a CS that is cutted down on features, that would suck :(

I won't know if I'm moving until I try out Oblivion. I'm hoping to keep fairly neutral between the two, but if Oblivion is fantasticly amazing game I think it will be, then I might not be motivated enough to stay with morrowind at all.

Hehe me as "all might on knowledge" :) :) have read in the ESF a quote by pete and kathode in wich they explain the situation and the situation is:

The CS WILL be released (weeks/months) AFTER oblivion, it is not in the game disc because they have to sort some license issues, particularly regarding HAVOC and SPEEDTREE licenses, if all goes well the CS will be lunched "as is", if not, they may have to cut down some features, or limit them in some wierd twisted way :) i will try to find the thread about it... But it will be difficult, stupid forums are always busy with people downloading the new daily movie...

PS: I'm sticking with Morrowind as i don't have a good enough pc for OB for shure... Hope some shacks will be up for claim soon...

I'll be sticking with Morrowind for a week or so, (well, maybe) mainly because my job as it is doesn't require me to have the game. (Although it helps)

Oblivion, for sure. You'll get BoT before the end of March in the OB engine.

Both for a while, then oblivion entirely.

After trying the new CS, we'll all probably be too pampered to touch the morrowind tescs.

Morrowind, morrowind and morrowind. I wanna see the TR's TESIII version of Narsis before I'm dead. Playable. But soon as 'O' is out I'll interiorise it, given the models are done.

We should start some model work..and if you don't know how to model... learn. If you already know how to model.. learn how to model better. Go for high poly stuff and learn about different maps. So far nothing i've seen on this site is even near oblivion quallity. Maybe we should shoot for that as an experiment. If one person starts.. i'll gladly help.

I'm sticking with Morrowind.

I'm already daydreaming about doing Dres slave market interiors for Tear, so I don't have any plans on quitting any time soon.
