How to take screenshots and use the coc command!

Post by ShoGun »

I'm sure I'm not the only one that can't take screenshots in-game.

I just discovered how to take screenshots in-game, and also discovered that the coc "center on cell" command works! ;)
For this you have to edit a little in your Oblivion.ini file ;)

You all see that you have a Oblivion.ini in your game folder, but that is not the correct one to edit.

Go into your C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion and there you have Oblivion.ini, make a copy of it incase anything screws up.

search for: bAllowScreenShot=0
Set it to: bAllowScreenShot=1
This setting allows you to or not to be able to take screenshots.

Then search for: iScreenShotIndex=0
Set if to: iScreenShotIndex=1

This makes sure ur screenshots are saved somewhere. The screenshots will be saved in your oblivion game folder. ex c:\program\Oblivion\. It will be saved as a .BMP file.

And now to the last thing.
SScreenShotBaseName=Oblivion
Change Oblivion to whatever you want your screenshot to be named. I set it to: SScreenShotBaseName=Screenshot.

Now it will be saved as ex: c:\program\Oblivion\Screenshot1.bmp, Screenshot2.bmp, Screenshot99.bmp and so on.

And for the coc "center on cell" command. Just take your console down which is the [~] key, or the §/½ key for us swedes. Now type in coc and the cell. ex, coc "Anga" You will be transfered to the dungeon named Anga.
In Morrowind you could write coc "Balmora, Guild of Fighters" or coc "Vivec, Guild of Fighters" Now the cells have different named. You can't write coc "Imperial City" to be transfered there, now you have to know the cell named from Construction Set.
For example: coc "ICImperialLegionHQ" Now you will be transfered to the Imperial City Imperial Legion Headquarters. Annoying name ;)

I hope this was of use, I have not yet found any topic about this so I thought I'd just squeeze it in. Constructive Criticism is welcome ;)

This reminds me that if grass is making you lag when outside, go into the .ini file and search for

iMinGrassSize=80

Enlarge the number to make less grass, I set mine to

iMinGrassSize=130
