Swordsingers

Post by lb003g0676 »

Right then.. althoguh there was a WSG ages ago, did it really achieve that much? I would like to show some ideas I have had for the swords themselves. And I would like others to aswell, as I am kinda in thw blue here, abotu what tehy are supposed to be like, and what they are planned to be like etc.

So heres my contribution.

The vagueness definitely seems to hit the mark, I'm not so sure about the flames. Is there maybe standard effect and colour for alteration magic in Tes IV or III? If there is maybe you could try that. Nice picture, by the way!

I imagine purple for alteration.... but I dunno if it was you i was having this discussion with... is it really alteration... I imagine mor conjuration. Which is more yellowy. Anyway... I made it flames, becuase your soul burns.... :P. I could make them blue, green or purple.

Jale said in another thread, it should be alteration, and his reasoning seemed to make sense, but it has not been decided yet.

If swordsinging, is compacting air with your voice, and sound is carried by waves, maybe the effect could be ripples
like when you throw a rock into a still pond, except in the shape of a sword, and moving backwards in the direction of the compacted sword. Another possibility could be that it was an interference patern of some kind. This effect would be purple, of course.

To be honest its not like effects are totally linked to your spells...I mean summoned creatures arent all yellow, are they? Even if the casting graphics are one colour it doesnt mean the sword need be too. I would suggest just pure white, so it has a really ghostly, ephemeral look.

I was mainly referring to the glow/magic fire/particles/what have you around it, but I think white will do nicely with any spell effect colour. What probably wouldn't work well, would be conjuring a 'real' metal-textured sword (steel longsword).
