Back to school!

Post by Massalinie »

Who else wants to bitch about it or gloat that they don't have to go?

It means I can't sit around on my computer all day anymore :(

*cries*

What's with this 'learning' anyway? Who decided that it was a good use of everybody's childhood? I want to be off modding and hanging out with my cool internet buddies! lolz. Not sitting here on a computer PC because I don't even have a class right now.

Me too!

And yes, my teachers probably don't agree with my theorums. :P The one thing i love about school right now is the tech side of it. I get to do tech stuff for all the pep rallies and shows and stuff the school put on. And making the film too :D

But anything that envolves doing homework and writing exams just plain sucks.

I might start school any day now, there's just a little trouble arising from the move to Germany... The German schools are, to me, a blessing and a curse: It ends at one, leaving plenty of time for the rest of the day, (and TR :D), but it starts earlier than Canadian schools, and even though I'm in a city most schools are rather far away, so I may have to wake up at around 7:00, and then comes the subway/bike ride. *groans*

I used to go to shcool from 8-2. However, since my mom was a teacher, I had to come an hour early and I didnt leave till at least an hour late- plus there were the days when she had meetings, ect. :S

that sucks.

i wake up  around 6:30 and do the usual:

eat, check my PMs, browse the internet, drink some pop,

then i go to skool around 7:30, hang out with my friends for about 15 minutes then head on in at 8:00

on mondays skool starts at 9:00
this results in no early releases unless there is a gas leak and it is national stoner day.

i am not a stoner.

i get home at 2:45, and play computer till about 4. then i get of for an hour, wich i spend eating, watching TV,duing some homework, or reading. then i get back on at around 5 and sit on it till 6. at 6 i go and finish up my HW. it usualy takes me till about 7:30 or later to do it. while im duing the HW i may be interupted to go watch my bro, cook, clean or do other chores. we eat at about 7:30 or 8,i eat and wash the dishes till about 9:something. then i go finish up any unfinished homework or watch TV untill 10, at wich time i go to bed.

Im in the whole new beast that is 'Sixth Form College'. Wake up at 7ish, have breakfast, have shower. Usual. Until...Dah dah daaah..PUT ON MY SUIT. Yes suit. Its snappy.

Six lessons a day, and that includes free periods where I can, if I wish, do nothing and just bum around in the concourse, which is a fantastic place for sixth formers. And we are treated as people rather than students.

Pah...schoolkids.

my entire schedule:

wake up at 6:00, lay in bed and cry for about 15 minutes (i am sad i have to leave my wonderful bed) then i climb off it and throw myself up a whopping 15 stair staircase, usually eat cherios or on occasions breakfast burrido, walk to skool which is about a mile away (i usualy skate) then hang out with my girlfriend on the corner of the parking lot, text a few people, then head on into my math class. (from 8:00 to 3:00 i am in skool, exept on mondays where i get to skool at 9:00) i come home, maybe eat something like a mozzerlla string cheeze stik while browsing the TR forums. then i mod for about a few hours, falling into a light sleep every few minutes, go upstairs again (booo! :( ) and maybe get some mountain dew to wake me up. about once a week i go on wal-mart runs where i just go to walmart with the money i had recently found in the couch or earned by mowing or something, by random crap which i end up returning inevitably, come home, screw around with a few new things i downloaded like blender and a couple other 3d modeling programs, then i log onto TR again and check my PMs, make a post or two, then i brush my teeth and get ready for bed (yeh! :) ) i maybe do some modding for a little bit maybe 15 minutes or so, then go to bed at about 10:00 or 11:00.

i dont really mind my teachers. they are sometimes acting so retarded i have to laugh. it is the homework that kills me.

i am currently behind in every 7 classes in my skool.

ya wanna know how old i am?!! i am in 8th grade. there. i said it. i am sorry i am not in high skool yet. there arent very many young people who can do things like 3d modeling who are as young as me.

oh well.

most of you guys are in colledge or high skool.

to tyrion: try punching the poor retard in the face. i swear no one will steal batteries from you again. this ussually works with anything ranging from scraps of paper to credit cards.

I like school more now I've left :P

A-levels (basically college stuff in high school) were ok, but they didn't treat us like mature students.

Although university has been much more fun and freedom wise its better.

I am doing the xtras that come with university.
I wake at 9am, take the elevator down from the dormitorium,
eat in the kitchen, and get ready at 10am.

I go across the field, down the few steps and up again (terrain isnt smooth), and into the main building.

i do civil engineering, and so i am in there most of the day.

lunch period i hang at the Tims and eat my sandwich and coffee combo, go back till 3pm.

then i get to the dormitorium, Do some modding, eat and sleep.

rinse and repeat.

I am finishing my Masters Degree (puts pay up about 30 dollars/H) and soon ill be back to plan buildings and infrastructure for the city.

Not so bad once you're in college. except they go apeshit on reading and papers sometimes, but that depends on the prof. Thankfully I have 2 professors that don't even use a book.

Mondays and tuesdays are hell for me, up early, home late. But the rest of the week is nearly free( free to go to work instead of class at least). Lousy minimum wage....we wouldn't have a freshman class if I didn't keep things organized and found all the missing files.

Hah. Lousy government-provided public education! Who needs it? Not I. I am... home-schooled. All online of course. I wake up when I want, do what I want, as long as it all get's done before May 29th. That means I can finish school in two months if I work constantly, or put it off until the last semester and have an "extended" summer. But I wake up at 7:00 anyway, because I have to go to work and school with my parents, which can get a bit old.

The online school gives you a free computer for courses though, so now I have two. It's a cheapy, but I upgraded it a bit, so all in all it's not a bad way of education. I swear I know more than most of my peers as well. (And I can wear a suit whenever I want, Jale. And music ALL DAY LONG.)

That's one thing though... I never see anyone normally. My girlfriend "moved on" because I'm not around all that much anymore. Like it's my fault. I still play on the Tennis and Basketball teams, (We don't have football...) and am allowed to attend school events. (Dances.) But social life sucks in general. I suppose I can wait until college to get involved with the ladies again. (Which is only two years away! I'm a junior as of now...)

Hah, some of you guys got it rough...

I have the same classes every day but my first class is only every two days, so on one day I get up at 7:30, and am at school by 8:15 and every other day I get up by 8:30 and am at school by 9:40. I also have no class last period of the day so I get to come home every day at 2:20 and I'm normally home by 2:35 if I droce the truck to school. I then am on my computer for TR, e-mail etc until around 6ish for dinner, and then I walk my dog. At 7-7:30 I'm either on my computer or watching a movie having a shower or whatever. And then usually at some point between 9pm and 10pm I'll do my homework if I have any.
I only have 2 real classes this semster because my first one (every other day) is just the school feature film, no learning and no homework. And my 3rd class is digital film (we make short films) which is a peice of cake for me since I already know most of what we're 'learning' (I'm taking the class for the experience making different types of film).
I spend the weekend with my cousin and her bf. We scrapbook and we swim in the summer and go skating on the river in the winter. Right now we're on the in between time. I'll also be shooting for the feature film and my short films, hanging out with my friends etc etc. Which makes my weekends very busy (yet fun!)

So all in all, my life ain't too bad. :D

Right now I only have three real classes: trig, physics, and grammer/vocab/composition. Everything else is history courses or study halls, and I own at history.

Oh and skittles, I skate and have for around six years now but I never really progressed. I prefer snowboarding.

I have four subjects.

Chemistry - Really hard. And im a science scholarship at the school that came 5th out of all independant schools for GCSEs this year. Thats how hard it is.

Biology - Really, really easy. Apparently next year is much much harder, but at the moment really easy.

English Literature - My slice of culture. Got some good books to study.

Music Technology - My creative one. Plenty of composing on brand new computers. Really fun.

So its a mix of hard, easy, interesting and fun.

I have 3 classes a day. World History Honors, Bio, World Lit Honors on the first day. French II, Algebra II (going to try to skip it and take Trig/Pre-Calc), PE. Honors basically means stepping-stone-to-AP, AP basically means harder-than-college-but-if-you-pass-you-don't-have-to-take-it-in-college. Bio is easy, I can't understand my French teacher, and PE is boring. I won't learn anything in math this year if I don't skip.

all my classes are heist available level. which means all academics and art is GT (gifted and talented -- like AP but for lower grades), Spanish III is honors (nothing higher available) and Art+Tech is standard (once again, nothing higher available)

We dont really have anything like the CP, AP and GT streams. We just get setted by the school in large enough classes, and its just your end grades which make any difference. Getting a C is fine if the uni you apply to only wants you to get a C.

Who else wants to bitch about it or gloat that they don't have to go?
ME!

My 3rd and last year of academia doesn't start until the 2nd of October (after a 4 month break since finishing in June). The third and final year is most important, worth 2/3rds the course mark, and includes my dissertation.

It's going to be a fun year!

Part of me can't wait to finish university so I can settle into a job, and a normal life... which probabaly won't be so normal by western standards since I'll hopefully be in Japan, teaching english, on the JET scheme :D

After that (which will last about 3 years) I'll probabaly move to earn a PHD in clinical psychology and become a "shrink"/"psychologist"/"counsellor" and earn lots of money... if I want to :P. Or maybe something else, who knows.

As I said on IRC earlier, I have no dellusions of grandeur. I dont feel special, or gifted, or ultra-smart, and don't think I flaunt myself (seriously) as such. I didn't do amazingly well in my GCSEs, or A-levels, and I'll be extremely happy if I get a 2:1 (equivlanet of a "B" grade) on my uni course.

I'm just a person, trying to make his way in the world, and hopefully having a good time while doing so.

/me thinks he went off on a tangent

EDIT:
Morgoth, you may be able to wear a suit, but everyone SEES me wearing mine ;)
Jale, suits suck! Having to wear one through a-level was a royal pain in the arse. Wait till you get to uni where you can wear whatever you want. Its far more liberating ;)
