Ha ha ha, I always wonder what some people would say if I answered Classical and meant it, and I do. But I don't listen to any music much anymore. :(

I listen to "classical" as the laymen call it.

However, the umbrella of "classical" music covers over 1000 years of human culture and achievment. The number of genres and historical styles it covers are vast.

I like most "classical". I also listen to a little world music- Arabic and Celtic especialy. Oh, and did I mention soundtracks to movies and games?

Being of scottish descent, I have a very soft spot in my heart for Celtic and Gaelic music.

I listen to classical, soft and classic rock, errr RnB before it became crap, like PROPER old time Rhythm and Blues. And some electronic due to one particular band. and obviously other more hard rock Classics.

My favourite bands/ artists / composers:

Sublime
Yellow Dog
Joni Mitchell
Sting - Especially because of his lyrics.
Johnny Cash
Led Zeppelin
ACDC
Queen
David Bowie
Mint Royale
Edvard Grieg
Nina Simone
The Isley Brothers

I might say more later :D

* Bolded means I am listening to it... or recently anyway.

I have a thing for vk (visual kei) music right now.

That and electro-pop-indie, like Fischerspooner and The Faint.

A bit of everything, mostly on youtube.
Recently I've be listening to:

Brian May: Starfleet
George Harrison: Dream Away (Time Bandit ending), My Sweet Lord
Tom Petty & Heartbraekers: Running Down A Dream, Don't Come Around Here No More
Everly Brothers: Wake Up Little Suzy, On The Wings of a Nightingale

I also like the Intro to the movie A Clockwork Orange.

I like experimental music(true experimental music not the acid jazz ambient ripp-off junk they have these days).
Once I heard music that sounded like it was synthesizer-music from the eighties. It turned out to be recorded in a laboratory in the fifties.

I like the theremin too.

I once listened to a radio program about overtone singing, it's interesting that Western Europe has devided from the norm and that we appearently never had it.

[edit]Forgot this one:
Lemon Demon: The Ultimate Showdown Of Ultimate Destiny.
Nice animation too.

I just can't get used to George Harrison, I hate his music for some reason. I think it's how religiously patriotic it is. I honestly, don't mind what religion you are , and by all emans mention it, but songs just structured around it, is just offputting to me.

It would not upset me one bit if all of a sudden the System of a Down tour bus overturned, and debris pierced the so called singers voice box (however he may still sing, and it would sound exactly the same; like a person with a pierced voice box), and break the rest of the bands fingers into unrepairable cripple digits.

I really don't know why i despise their music so much.

It's more nostalgia towards a certain way of thinking about society, and believing it was better for it. Of course society was crap then too, just different crap.

Neither would I mind at all, if the same, or hopefully worse would occur with Rammstein, or Ramms+ein as they are sometimes playfully alluded to.
They're just SOOOOOOOOO kitschy.

A German death metal band. I don't know what it means if that's what you mean. They made the song "Otherworld" which plays twice in Final Fantasy X.

The Clash is the Greatest Band in the History of the Universe.
Just thought I'd get that out of the way.
Besides that, I'm heavy into B.B. King, Social Distortion, Sublime, Pearl Jam, Chilli Peppers, Wu-Tang, The Doors, Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, GWAR, A Tribe Called Quest, Jane's Addiction, Rush, Ray Charles...
You know, everything that doesn't suck (note the lack of electronica and country).

Haven't you guys ever heared of Jean Michel Jarre? Most people say "I can't undesratnd this kind of music" just because it's elctronica? For me there is no "kind" of music. They seem like a set of instruments for me. Jarre uses Sythns and so on while ramstein for example uses guitars drums and so on. You can transform any song in rock just by playing it on a bass. Hehe it's just me. Anyways give it a shot. ;)

Amen to that, The Clash are awesome. Born and bred in blighty :D, hehe, as a matter of fact when reading your post i was listening to London's Calling :D

P.S can't believe i didn't mention the chili's in my list. The Jam too. and I thin Ray Charles is excellent, ever since I saw the Blues Brothers. And the Rolling Stones purely for 'I miss you'.

It's just typography, they used a + instead of a regular t.

Oh trust me, the Clash are very heavy. Thing is, they're very heavy in the sense of the original punk movement, before metal changed "heavy" to mean:
Alright boys, stomp on your double-pedal, ride those power chords like a fiend, and you over there, you play a nine-minute wailing solo through the whole song. I'm going to smoke ten packs of cigarettes, then scream at the top of my lungs. And don't forget your makeup and Hot Topic boots! AND FOR FUCKS SAKE DON'T SMILE THIS TIME!

Funny, I don't think any of the metal bands I listen to fall into that generalization. Guess they must not be metal
A Dark Elf man killed his wife after catching her making love with another man. When the magistrate asked him why he killed her instead of her lover, the man replied, "I considered it better to kill one woman than a different man every week."
