Goldmoor Preview

Post by Lady Nerevar »

Hello there folks! I’m quite sure that most of you are bored with seeing core changes and decisions in the news, so I bring you some more interesting news. Both the blogs have just been updated, read the Morrowind blog here and the oblivion blog here.

Second, I’d like to present you with a little preview of what to expect as you enter Hammerfell through the Goldmoor region. The town you see in the screenshots is just a temporary test location and will not appear in game. Many things are still being perfected (the textures are being completely redone), so if you see something you’d like to change head over to the forums. Otherwise, enjoy!

Great! Now we only need an art file to commemorate the first review fest. (as i can see a couple of them in the future..) Any concept artist up to the challenge? I really like how the Goldmoor region is shaping up too.

FYI, most of the textures are currently being redone. The screenshots above are nothing more than an alpha-alpha.

Looks fantastic! In game shots are always the best ones ;) I've spent the past few years following the progress of this mod (and TES3's) and i guess a lot of your wip stuff is in private forums now that i can't see or critique...so its good to see some excellent progress here!

btw have you guys seen this yet?

yep, weve seen it. it looks fantastic, but were not sure if we will be using it because it woult require us to create around it instead of the other way around. but im quite sure that atleast some of the peaces will end up being incorporated :)

Here's a few shots of mine. I've been unofficially working on the textures.

Got the chills as soon as I saw the News guys, very nice update. Those arabian screenies are just what I imagine central HF to be like. It could save us a lot of time if the modeller would allow us to use modified versions of his buildings.

Yes. The author mentions in his thread that his creations will be released as modders' resource, so I guess he'd be cool with us using part of his work.

I'm really not a fan of those meshes... they look way too low poly and they're not half as detailed as Fairwater's. The final decision would be up to Fairwater, but from talking to him, he doesn't like them either.

They do look a bit amateur, but that's why I said "modified versions". Of course it's up to FW's judgement. Unless they make our work easier, we needn't think about it at all.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Fairwater's stuff is looking great, as do the new textures.
