.7z and .rar file usage help please

Hi all, I'm new and stuff and this is sort of kind of on/off topic, I have noticed that tamriel rebuilt (for morrowind atleast) is a 7z file, and i was wondering, how to use 7z and .rar files after downloading them, by this i mean playing them in game, could anyone help me out here

Did you know that [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7z]Wikipedia knows all[/url], [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAR]sees all[/url]?

Seriously, you can look up any file format on it. It'll tell you what it is, how it works, and which programs you can use.
