Claiming. More or less a try-out. I'll make it using my voice and Adobe Audition. It'll either fail miserably, or we'll have cool new Dres bug sounds.

Granting. Good luck

Finished this. I can adjust these if necessary.

I can also clean up some other sounds if needed.

I don't want this sent off just yet. Let some critique be written first.

I think this is an improvement. The first sounds all had some sort of humming in the background. This is both clearer and more interesting!

Then again Aeven is part bug... ;)

I like how move.ogg gives a sense of the bug coming at you too. Does it need to be slightly longer like the current dresbug_move.wav?

I think the moan sound could sound more hurt.

I'd like to know what one of the people in charge of sounds thinks, and if there is some sort of deadline for this.

I tested these out on the dres bug. IMO it seemeed to fit witht the creature. However the sounds need to be amplified so that they can be heared over the battle music.

Well Don and I are the only active S&M members so you might as well take our advice?
Don: Make the move sound longer
Me: the Moan sound can be more 'hurt'

Seeing as Gesshoku hasn't been around in AAges waiting for him doesn't give much sence. I think a good person to ask about the sounds currently is Gez, so ask him.

Just a quick question: Can only Gesshoku approve claims here?

Admins can do whatever the fuck we want (we can approve them).

Um... make the fixes they said to fix and then... I'll approve this (barring any inexplicable problems only my untrained ear my find)

Hey Aeven,
The new slightly longer move.wav had a part where it sounds like you just cut and pasted something over and the transition was kind of sudden, so I thought I'd take the liberty of smoothing it out somewhat. You can take a listen here:
http://www.uploadthis.co.uk/uploads/benstox/don-dresbug-move.wav
A little bit smoother at any rate.

I thought these sounded good enough so I tried to test them out in game. When attacked by a muskfly the vanilla fly sound came on (you know, the one that plays whenever there are old corpses lying around...), and continued throughout the battle. The only dresbug sound that I could make out the whole time was 'dresbug moan.wav' whenever I killed one. Are the other three not scripted to play for muskflies? Or am I sadly mistaken and there actually is some creature somewhere called Dres Bug?

I believe these were for the Dres Skyrender, like the one at the port telvannis slave market

Okay, I hung around the Port Telvannis slave market and whenever one is in the proximity of the Dres Bug the "dresbug move.wav" will loop constantly. It does not actually loop the whole file, just the first half-second or so. This may be an error of some kind. Regardless, however, your new "dresbug move" doesn't loop very well. The old one works a little better because it's more of a droning sound. Did anyone else test this and hear the same thing?

Aeven, could you make up a new move sound? Do your same bug voice with the effects and all but just try to keep it all at the same pitch more or less, keeping in mind it has to be looped.

Can anyone tell us more about the Dres Skyrender? Is that the only one on map 1/2? Are there going to be wild ones, or are they all mounted like that?

I'll do that.

The Dres Skyrender will probably be featured a lot more on Map 6.

Any updates on this?

EDIT: I'm also moving this to review
