The link for the torrents (unsurprisingly for this size, it's not a FTP or HTTP download) are found [url=http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Sound_samples]at OLPC[/url].

I figure this will be relevant to the interest of sound and music modders...

Most of it is voice and instruments, but there are also noises, including various animals, machines and weapons (even medieval ones).
