As for the earth thing, he means earth as in not sky I think.

So none of you get a border region error? I'm going to guess it was conflict for the guy in the ESF thread, because the only error we know of that causes that isn't it.

You need to download both files (Stirk.esp and OoT.esm), if you have done this, make sure you extracted the OoT download to the 'Data' folder.

Don't know what to tell you but make sure you have all the files in the right places. Please follow the instructions ( http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=17031 ).

I noticed that too. Problem: The cave tiles have been duplicated, in more than one section.

Oops, heh heh.

I used the wrong address when I extracted the files. When I extracted it I forgot to delete the TrOot.esm suffix for the extract location. Replayed and it works now.

On Stirk most of the buildings are locked, even in the daytime (morning, afternoon, evening and night).

Argh. I can't even download the 2nd part

Post by springmoon51 »

O.k. I've downloaded ALOT of mods and I know what I have to do. But I'm a bit confused. I use WinRar. I downloaded the first part, OOT and checked it off in my data files, oblivion launcher. Then went back to try to download the 2nd part. It keeps opening up in the constro set. I hit the save to disk and get an error message that the CTL file can't be opened.
Please help. I really want to play this.
Thanks,
Cherie

i also have the doors locked in daytime, i had to unlock the chapel because people were quening outside it.

and as for the earth, he should say here on nirn.

our planet is earth, but the ground is dirt.

so yes this is an error, and he should be saying Nirn.

and a question:

is hammerfell Lawless?

i am assuming that there is no law other than do not kill.
anything else goes.

ive been in the ruins already (i used togglecollision to get behind the rocks).

they look great, but lots of doors that dont open.

also i found a cave in the rear of the island, and i like the way its concealed.

the way up to the graveyard where people have pushed up daisies is a great view.

umm, i am going back there with my sword and i am gonna murder up the town/steal if i can.

(btw i have no company in cyrodiil, because everyone is dead)

Dead? even the essential chars?

Divine intervention: before we turn this into a discussion thread, can we please stay on topic and only give error reports.

I've got this border error. It's weird because when I try to fast travel to Anvil it says that I can't go that way and it starts do load the location from which I started travel.

Any solutions?

Can you list any other mods you are running? And then try running our mod without anyothers running, and see if the issue is fixed.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. I disabled it and then everything was fine. There was no error.

Thank you. We now know that "Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul" is not compatible with this mod. Down the road if there is any easy fix that will make the two compatible, we will take this info into consideration. Thank you very much for your playtesting of this mod.

I did, it bothered the hell out of me. its a LOD bug, so i dont know how to fix it. also, would it be posible to generate lod for the land between anvil and stirk? its a fugly cell end line (im also predicting that this is the error of the missing land in the sea)

Some screenies would be nice for this error.

EDIT: OoT Error: In my submission to OoT for LOD there is a folder "Meshes/Lanscape/LOD" that was not included in the public release of Stirk. This directory needs to be added to OoT and is the issue causing these "lack of distant land" errors.

If you go out far enough the water becomes lod water, and you fall right through. I've attached screens of the tree error and the water error.

The missing land error is known and I posted the reason in my previous post. If you could post what specific cells those are for the missing water (ie: x,y) it will help me tremendiously.

Million Dollar question... You'd be my hero if you figured that out ;) Try looking at the console commands at the ES-Wiki, that's a good place to start.

Hey. I tried out the mod. I noticed this:

Cell: Fort Stirk, Barracks
Location: Near a table, to the left of the entrance
Error: A tapestry and rug change brightness suddenly as I move around.

That's about it. I'll test this more when I can get Oblivion to not have horrible performance. Anyway, very cool!

For anyone wanting to know how to find the current x, y of the cell their in, open the console, and type

Code: Select all

tdt
and hit enter, then type

Code: Select all

setdebugtext 0
this should show quite a few things, actually, and could be very useful for playtesters :D

had to turn off border myself. I just went into the ini file and set the count to whatever it needs to be. All I have installed is two house mods installed . Kuminko manor and my own house near cheydinal. I have nothing else installed. ( I lost it all due to a reformatting thing).

I played the mod just fine until i tried the lighthouse thing. then my screen showed me something from the 60's... all weird patterns.

I went back and played it without going Near the lighouse and I was fine.

Nice work.

You use OOO, don't you?

The solution is very simple. Open up My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini with any text editor you find (yeah, even notepad will do the trick), and search for "bBorderRegionsEnabled=1" (sans quotes, of course). Replace it by bBorderRegionsEnabled=0.

Joy and felicity, the problem is solved.

I was testing 0.75 and here are a few bugs I found before hitting the invisible border region:
1. Aforementioned border region. I was water walking from Anvil and hit the wall halfway through
2. Trees on Stirk apparently have "Visible when distant" enabled making them hang in the air when no island is still visible. I can see them from Anvil coast and maybe even futher.

OK. And here's 0.76:
1. Statue of General Stirk has too many vegetation around it. Bushes even grow on the road leading to it.
2. There's a peak with the campfire on it's very tip. It rests there in a vey unrealistic way plus who would keep the fire there anyway ?
3. The Magnificent staircase (see the pic).
