String of Errors in CS

Post by BethesdaLove »

Me again, another question.

I've just downloaded the TR_Data files to have a gander at in the CS, but when I create a new plugin and select the data files I am presented with an error:
Previous string is different for topic "someone in particular" info 2225931001740931554-"Aside from Captain Carius, I'm the only one here worth talking to."

Continue running executable?

Yes No
Figuring it probably doesn't matter, I click yes, then I'm presented with an almost Identical error, except the number and the dialogue is different. Click yes again, same again. Repeatedly click yes furiously, still a lot more errors, finally press no and my computer crashes.

Anybody know what newby mistake I've made?

It's not a mistake on your part. These errors were introduced by Bethesda - they happen whenever you load up the expansions in the CS and are nothing to worry about. A similar series of errors are created by our files too. If you want to avoid the tedium of clicking yes every time, you can enable a 'yes to all' button by changing a setting in the ini file.

MMMowSkwoz: Could you give me the exact line that should be inserted in the .ini file and where ?

it's "AllowYesToAll=" and should already be in there, just change the value to 1.

If it isn't there, add it underneath "Max FPS=", found near the top of the .ini file.

I never would have thought of that... many thanks!

I was able to create the "AllowYesToAll=1" in the ini file, but after clicking the cancel "yes to all" button in the construction set it causes the program to crash.

There must be some other problem. Make sure you have selected the right masterfiles and setup the ini properly. If you are unsure how to do this steps should be available in readme and elsewhere.

When I start up the CS I often get a box asking me to close or wait for program to respond. If this is where program is crashing try waiting for CS to respond. The CS can be touchy, but with OpenCS/OpenMW these problems may soon be behind us.
my opinion.

In the Morrowind directory there is a text file named "Warnings.txt", that gets written to every time you start MW or CS. See what that says.

You installed the game in the wrong order

You need to install it Morrowind > Tribunal > Bloodmoon (> 1.6.1820 patch)

The patch isn't needed with the GoTY edition of Morrowind.

Ah ok. So do I have to uninstall the entire game and reintall it in the correct order, or is their another way to fix this issue besides reinstalling.

Apologies for the late reply btw

Apparently just reinstalling Bloodmoon (and the patch if needs be) is enough.
