Antz-wone-three-foar's Showcase, yes, that's It.

Post by Antz134 »

Hi Hi Hi there my droogs.
but really.
This is my morrowind showcase, it was originally some bit of a mod and will probably continue to be so unless i have to forfeit it over to you guise.

I've cleaned it, mostly besides some cells (if i remove any of them i have a chance of killing the exterior) but the CS thinks i edited textures (Visual pack XT did it?), and trying to fix that kills the whole thing.
It took ages, i have no idea why.

Exterior: Molag Amur Region, (6, -2)
Interior: Asiulatimaei, Cavern

oh, that's right, it's a daedric cavern-type thing.

Right, I'll review the interior for this place.

-Your northmarker is placed, but misaligned

-Your cave is very bare, 67 refs is really not much. You need to add more rocks, boulders, miscs and the like, or start again with something with more decorating potential (a shop perhaps?). For an interior house to be considered adequately detailed, it ideally wants at least 100 references, preferably more.

-For a cave, this seems way too bright. try looking up the light settings for other lavacaves and copying those. The fog setting shouldn't be left at zero either; it's great for adding ambience to dungeon interiors.

-One of the skulls bleeds into the platform it rests on.

-None of your skeletons rest flat on their surface.

-The skulls near the daedric ruin entrance bleed into each other

-Interior makers don't need to script, place NPCs or monsters, or link their interior to anything other than other cells in their claim. If you want this showcase to be multi-disciplinary, expand upon the exteriors and scripts/quests/NPC stuff. Otherwise, I'd advise removing them, or starting a new one.
"If a hermaphroditic, bug-armored, bipolar god-king existing in multiple universes who has his very own bible with *actual* magic strewn throughout it is your idea of a cliche, then I really would like to live in your world." -MK

that's because i really don't know how northmarkers work at all.

the script is just because i was messing around.
and the exterior looks pretty fail, so i will delete that.
as for monsters, what's the deal with them?(who places them, etc)

Monsters and NPCs are placed during NPC detailing, be glad you don't have to worry about them (unless you apply to do NPC detailing too).

The northmarker is a static found in every interior that points in the direction of North. In an actual claim, you'll be expected to be able to find out the direction of North from the exterior and/or the photo map provided.

If it's a showcase, it doesn't matter too much. Just have it in there, pointing in some arbitrary direction =P

Perfectionism is a virtue, even moreso here at TR =]

alright, I've changed a few things and crammed as many rocks and boulders as i could into the interior as i could without making it impossible for the PC to move.
if it doesn't do my l33t (:P) CS skills justice I'll probably do some generic house or something.

First, I just noticed that this is only dependant upon Morrowind.esm, you need to have the two expansion packs if you want to do interior modding for TR. TR_Data.esm is also very useful to have, because it comes with a full middle class Dunmer (de_rm) furniture set, among other very useful new items.

With regards to the cave itself, caves aren't really much of a demonstration of modding skill. You're still under the recommended minimum of 100 refs, and it's things like furniture, clutter and architecture that show to a reviewer how good you really are.

I would definitely recommend making a reasonably sized house or shop or manor next. Hlaalu and Redoran are probably the best tilesets to use seeing as those are the sets we will be using for a considerable portion of the future.
