I'll have a quick look on your file now:
- file is clean
- nothmarker is set
- you don't have to create npcs and pathgrids.
- I wonder if you could find some armor of necrom ordinators in a manor, you should perhaps delete those
- interior feels a little bright
- perhaps the skull should be rotated, I'm not sure because it leans against the desk.
- the cookies in the bowl look strange, try to move them a little bit
Edit: nice avatar, dude.

You are right.Scamp Softworks wrote:the reason why your interior is bright like hell is those lights you placed near the manor. Remove them, and set ambient light to 71.
I just thouth it looks kind of cool to have the nyc Architecture which is light and then to also have the room light

The lighting in-game looks quite different to the lighting in the CS, unfortunately.

This is a quick review only;
Gridsnap used: Yes
Northmarker Set: Yes, but in wrong place; should be near the front door just outside the building.
Style Mixing: Yes, imperial clutter/limeware
Fits Exterior: nearly but none that I can see
1) Angle snap has been used extensively for placing clutter, you should rotate everything manually by pressing your right mouse button, and possibly also hitting the x, y or z, key while rotating.
2) You have used the same tapestry throughout the house, furthermore the tapestry is designed for use in Temples; use several different tapestries throughout your house, and maybe a temple tapestry when you make a shrine.
3) Carpets on ramps isn`t very natural, they would slide down.
4) You have three washing basins arranged in a line just behind the door. To avoid trouble entering remove at least one and place them to the wall accross the door.
5) You have way to many Limeware throughout the house, occasionally there will only be one item of limeware in a manor. So remove all, and maybe leave a platter or a cup somewhere in the bedroom where your owner is.
6) Do not put large chests on top of a drawer or desk. Replace them with one or more small chests and maybe a light.
7) Your interior is way too light, its like you arrive in heaven or something! Never use a light stronger than 128 range in an interior, better even to use light_64 lamps, and more of them. Also avoid the strong lightbulb lightings as much as possible.
8) You haven`t included many books but you did include a whole series; add some books and only place one or two books of a series among them
9) A large chest on a bookshelf bleeds in the wall; avoid bleeding, and resizing the chest to 0.8-0.9 looks better.
10) The skooma vials, goblets on a bookshelf as well as the wine, excl. potions, brandy etc on the bar is too much arranged; remove some of them and place them wildly on the bar, the rest on a new bookshelf behind the bar in the same fashion. Rotate every one of them and place them randomly.
11) Never use a lot of the same expensive, hard to get or unique items in a house, i.e. the Ancient Dagoth Brandy, Exclusive potions, Gold Ore, Limeware. Only if TR requires you to do so.
12) Do not use ebony/dadric weapons in your house unless TR asks you for it. Replace them with more common weapons.
13) If expensive items are added put them behind a lock or have a guard guarding it, at least it must be hard to get.
14) Do not place ordinator armor/weapons in a house which does not belong to an ordinator (you have a warrior as NPC), and only if asked by TR, let alone guards with the ordinator armor.
15) Some pillow bleed minor in the bed, not a big deal but try not to have any bleeders or floaters.
16) You have used a traders chest "de_r_chest_01_potion_h" which isn`t assigned to a trader nor owned by someone; either include a potion trader or replace the chest with another one.
17) Avoid clutter, weapons and armor sticking out (the front) of bookshelves
18) Do not put vases or something similar on top of the desk area, put an inkwell with quill there, and/or a book, or scroll, make it feel used as a desk.
19) The bar is too crowded with bottles, which are set like they come of a modern production line, there is "never" enough clutter, but this arrangement is wrong; variate different sorts of bottles, single, trios, groups of five at max. Or resize them (with "s" key) to vary the sight.
20) Do not use silverware (except: knives, forks and spoons) in any but imperial interior; use redware, blueware or stoneware items for richer people and wood for poor people.
21) Do not use so many expensive ingredients like Daedra Hearts, Kwama Eggs do the job just as well.
Overall, the interior tileset is well used, with gridsnap and I couldn`t spot any errors. However there is much to less clutter throughout the house, potential walls are only covered with a tapestry, where a drawer, bookshelf or table could be. Too many expensive items, Too much lighting, Everything, (including furniture) should be rotated manually without gridsnap, to give it a more natural feel. Only a few bleeders, no floaters, I believe the F command is thouroughly used.

Thank you for your efort.
I will try to use less angle snap and place more clutter.
Could you please give a tip for the Light settings as I have no clue about that
Would it be fine if I just deleted the NPCs ?
The pillow is a mistake I thought it one of the items witch should be sunk in a little because they are so round
Again thanks for the Review

actually pillows should be sunk slightly into the bed, I was told that on my showcase before...
As for the light settings, ambient should be something between 60-80, sunlight shouldn't exceed 120

Ambient lighting's default is 71, 71, 71 which is too bright. Normal houses and shops should be in the 30-50 range, caves and tombs should be a little darker. When looking at things in the CS they will look darker than in game.Scamp Softworks wrote:

The sunlight settings don't make any difference unless the interior is set to act as an exterior. I usually set sunlight to 0.
Another good tip is to set the fog levels in caves and dungeons to about the same level as you would for ambient lighting. It makes a fog in the whole interior that has a creepy effect and makes it a little harder to see.

Find a similar interior in the CS, note all the settings, and then enter those in your new cell. That is the safest option. About those settings you already got some response.I will try to use less angle snap and place more clutter.

TR does not require an interior modder to create and place NPCs, nice that you can but not needed. In your case either dress them with lets say Bonemold armour or remove them completely.Would it be fine if I just deleted the NPCs ?
They should, but remember you must be able to see some of the bottom part as well, don`t sink them too deep. Maybe 3pts or so. Some items you can sink part by part with the f key as well. The pillow is a mistake I thought it one of the items witch should be sunk in a little because they are so round
Try to concentrate placing more furniture, and thus clutter which should be arranged randomly, in small groups at most and needs to be rotated individually. Go through all the comments I made in the review, alter them in your mod and post it again. Or even better make a new interior that fits an exterior (needed for promotion) and show that you have learned from my previous review.

Couple of things:
128 lights are fine as long as they aren't used in cramped places. a 128 light would work well as a chandelier in the middle of a room, or something like that.
Also, large chests on drawers and what not is fine as long as it looks good. It may be strange, but some people/NPCs are strange.
vases and what not are fine for desks, as they can serve as a decoration. not everyone uses desks for functional purposes.
Really, these things are more about what looks good. Though some things are strange, they can give an int personality.
Finally, washing basins should only be used in VERY rich interiors.

ahhh, I've never been good at light settings. Usually, I have a look at other interiors Beth did, and ambient is always between 60 and 70. Sorry for confusing you, nick.Kiteflyer61 wrote:

Quite incorrect there. The sunlight settings give the interior some directional light or something like that. When one sets the interior to act as an exterior, one can not access any of the sunlight settings.Kiteflyer61 wrote:The sunlight settings don't make any difference unless the interior is set to act as an exterior. I'm pretty sure I've never seen any interior without sunlight before, but for some people, this is just a matter of taste. I know there's some difference between the appearance of light in the CS and in game. I'll keep in mind that default is too bright (so again, I've learned something about the CS)

OK, you learn something every day!
Andres is right, the sunlight settings do have an effect, albeit an unusual one. I made a lighting test esp to check the effects of the different settings this is what I've found:
-Ambient lighting effects the entire interior equally, meaning that it lights the floor, the walls, the ceiling, and everything else in it.
-Sunlight settings do light the interior, but at an odd angle. The light appears to be coming from the northwest, as the light hits the south and east walls making them brighter. While it does appear to have a small effect on the ceiling and floor, it is not nearly as much as the walls. There seems to be no change over time. It looks the same at noon as it does at midnight. Please note that the directions (N, E, S, W) that I've used in this description are relative to the CS, not the placement of the northmarker. If you place an object in the CS and hit "T" it centers the camera over the item with north being to the top of the screen.
Anyway, if anyone would like to see the effects of the lighting settings for themselves I'd be more than happy to send the file. It's only 5k. Just be sure to take a light source of some sort, as there is one cell that has the settings set to all 0s (pitch black!).

so if nobody wants to review this, I do:
-for my taste, your bar is a little bit too 'crowded'
-you shouldn't use com_silverware cutlery, replace it with
the wooden ones
-bk_firmament and bk_specialfloraoftamriel are placed kinda weird. They'd fall down in real life
-vases on tables still look... curious...
-light_de_lamp_01_64 just slightly bleeds into furn_de_bar_05
-de_r_closet_01_fcloth04 are both floating
-misc_de_pot_redware_02 is floating rather badly
-misc_com_redware_flask also floats

should have been more clear, you should remove the basins and the washtub.
adequate amount should say moderate amounts. Also, halve the number of bottles on the bar.
don't resize things past 1.25.
Also, don't copy things from other interiors.
I'd be more thorough with this review, but that last error is cause for a full redo.

This is a full review:
Clean: Yes
Gridsnap Used: Yes, but also for furniture
Northmarker Set: Yes
Fits Exterior: No
IllegalToSleepHere: Yes
Copied Content: Yes
Secondary Bedroom with bunk:
- silver spear kind of hangs on the edge of the bookshelf
- chitin war axe and silver longsword stick out of the back of the bookshelf, its ok, but try to avoid clutter sticking out bookshelves and such, it will also create unnecessary bleeders while hanging tapestries. And it sticking out in front, the player might get stuck.
- several weapons partially float because the blade ends are slimmer than their handles, you should slightly rotate the blades’ ends to touch the surface they are on.
- the bookshelf stands right behind the door, it might create problems during game-play. Avoid placing objects in the direct circle of the door, and be careful just outside that circle, as the player might get stuck.
- You have scaled the bunk, which is good but just a little to few as the bunk still bleeds in the wall at the bottom end. An easy way to do that is with the “s†key.
Bathroom:
- Nice bathroom with bath and sinks, however try to use clutter that fits to the room like; sload soap, and some cloth/towel, and put them on a small shelf or something. [Edit]Those bathtub and sinks should be removed as TF mentioned, this because they are only allowed in very rich houses.
- This room would be nicer with a tapestry or two.
Study Room:
- Unless your character is a wizard/necromancer, do not use skulls, N`gastakvatakvakis or any of the corps preparation books.
- The quill bleeds slightly in the inkwell, but that is not a problem, good effort.
- You could put a chest or something to the wall across the entrance of the room.
Master Bedroom:
- chest_small_01_goldr500, has 500 gold, that is an awful lot and generally not used, only if requested. It is good you locked it though.
- The lute floats a little on one side at the bottom, and bleeds a little with its pins in the bookshelf at the top. These are only minor faults and we encourage modders to use them more often.
- bk_specialfloraoftamriel bleeds into bk_ChildrensAnuad
- Misc_SoulGem_Common bleeds in bookshelf
- misc_skooma_vial, too many packed too much together, instead of 16, use 9 or so and resize some of them to arrange them in a nice way.
- All misc_skooma_vial are bled into bookshelf.
- chest_small_02_misc is slightly bled into drawer.
- misc_de_goblet_01, you have gained the wild look here, but try to variate with similar goblets and different colours.
- You did pretty good with the redware in the bookshelf. Remind however that generally it will look better if the objects are a little more spaced and when the larger objects are put at the back.
- None of your chests are rotated, rotated them slightly up to let say 5 degrees, you will see it looks more natural.
- All your furniture is placed with gridsnap, do not do that as it looks very unnatural, us free hand rotation instead.
- do not use misc_de_pot_glass_peach_02 as bookends, use the TR bookends instead.
- bk_Anticipations bleeds into bk_ConsolationsOfPrayer
Foyer:
- You have bled the bugdesign bowl into the surface, good.
- Furn_de_rug_big_02 bleeds into wall.
- TR_cont_basket_01_ingr bleed into desk
- TR_cont_De_vase_01_ingr bleeds into desk
- All misc_com_bottle_03 and misc_com_bottle_12 slightly float above bookshelf.
- Four misc_de_bowl_redware_03 slightly float above bookshelf.
- misc_com_redware_bowl slightly floats above bookshelf.
- Both misc_com_redware_bowl_01 float above bookshelf.
- Both misc_com_redware_flask float above bookshelf.
- a small TR_cont_De_vase_04_food stands behind the much larger vases, and can only be slightly seen, and will be troublesome to reach to open. Move smaller objects in front of bigger ones to avoid this.
- one misc_de_pot_redware_02 floats high above the bookshelf.
- nearly half of misc_de_pot_redware_01 sticks out the back of the bookshelf.
- com_sack_02_chpfood3 bleeds slightly in the com_sacks.
Dining Area:
- At first the tables look randomly organized, which is good, but the silver cutlery sticks out as it is too organized, rotate the cutlery by hand.
- The layout of the chairs makes it nearly impossible, if not so, to walk around the tables. Nor can you reach most of the clutter on the tables. That is not what gamers want.
- misc_de_pitcher_01 slightly bleeds into table.
- two potion_cyro_brandy_01 are slightly floating.
- misc_de_bowl_glass_yellow_01 needs to be bled into the table a little more. Bowls have pointy bottoms, one should bleed them into the surface until the point has gone and the bowl naturally resides on its ‘flat’ bottom. Generally there are bands which you can use as reference. Look at the bottom of the yellow glasses, the bowls have a similar edge at their bottom.
- light_de_candle_07_64 is floating above the table.
- Four furn_de_r_chair_03 are bleeding in floor.
- Four furn_de_r_chair_03 are floating above floor.
Bar Area:
- You have rearranged the bar area, the random look is much better, but still too many products of each kind, try to bring in more variation by using other sorts of bottles and clutter. Try to face the labels of the bottles in different directions.
- You have included Vintage brandy, this drink can only be included if asked for, or if there is a really good reason to.
- All three TR_cont_basket_01_food bleed far into bar.
- Both Furn_De_Bar_05 bleed into floor.
Comments:
Do not copy ant content from other cells, just look at the tag and find it yourself in the object window. You are getting closer. The houses’ architecture does not fit an exterior, if you want to apply for promotion you should make an interior that fits an exterior. Generally a medium sized manor with a floor plan of 3x2 tiles and two floors will do. Its clear that you do use the “f†command, but try to use it with every object you place, as you still have quite a few (slight) floaters. When you move something, the surface it is placed on might change, so you should adjust its height on the z-axis, and sometimes even rotation on any axis. Try to rotate every object you place, including clutter, furniture, and rugs (which you did). Do not use gridsnap for anything else than interior tiles, angle snap you might want to use for tapestries as well.
I am not an expert in light settings, but your light settings for sunlight seems very high. The lighting you have used in the house is okay, sometimes I would have used even stronger lighting with 128 range lamps, but I fear its effect with those white walls. Try to use scaling a little more with clutter, just like you did with the vases. There is a nice walkthrough on the TR website. To my opinion you could have used a little more furniture and clutter scattered throughout the house. Put a bench in front of a tapestry and put some clutter on it, a book, a drink with glasses or whatever. Put a bookshelf behind the bar, and fill it up with bottles and drinks. Put a small chest with some little gold on the bar, to show it’s a vendor, and so on. Try to utilize the area as good as possible. On the other hand plan ahead the ways to reach the furniture and clutter you place, and leave space for the players to walk, doors to open, and (hidden) items to discover.

Do not trust the TESCS interiors, they sometimes do not match exteriors at all. Just use your common sense while viewing an exterior that you like, make a plan and then look at the interiors at TESCS for their light settings, general shape etc. They can also be useful to solve little problems as how to place a stairway or entrance and so on.thx for the reviews I will orientate myself on Bethseda Interiors for the shape (those fit exterriors or?)
Hm, if ambient shouldn't be something between 60-80, I wonder if you should orientate on that interiors...Scamp Softworks wrote:Usually, I have a look at other interiors Beth did, and ambient is always between 60 and 70.

Well it all seams to be i bit complicated especially the light settings where no agreement can seem to be found I shall simply test it ingame and have a look the same with interior fits exterior (it seems Bethseda are bgginers compared to TR)Praedator wrote:Do not trust the TESCS interiors, they sometimes do not match exteriors at all. it doesn't matter what it is as long as it looks good and isn't unreasonable.

Any interior you make can be tested ingame by connecting teleport doors. Even if the shape does not fit at all, you can test it. The important bit is that you make an interior that has roughly the same shape as the exterior, generally a block size, sometimes with top floor. Basements can be made in any size as they are underground, so an exterior does not need to fit. However common sense dictates that generally the plan of a basement should be nearly as large as the floor above it. As for the CS, look at the Balmora mages guild for instance. The top two floors roughly fit the exterior, and the basements go totally somewhere else. But that does not affect the exterior. If an exterior is two levels high, you cannot make three floor above ground, so use your common sense and try to make roughly the same shape as the exterior shows. Generally interiors are bigger than their exteriors, but that is not a problem as long as it doesn't go totally out of proportions.I shall simply test it ingame and have a look the same with interior fits exterior
As for light settings, really just look at a similar interior in the CS and write down the settings, then add a new interior and enter those settings. That includes all of the settings, ambient, fog and sunlight. In that way you are generally safe. I haven't seen a setting above 100 yet, and generally not over 80.
ok, thanks I will do my best using commone sence I am trying ti buils a c_plain house so it might take a while as I am not that sure about the tileset (By the way often Bethseda used in_c_pillar_wood in parts where a part of the pillar was missing is this how it should be done are are there also some half pillars like with velothi tileset?)

If I understand you right you want to build an imperial com house. They have seperate wooden pillars, and use them when you need to fix those awful half corners.
Use either ex_common_building_01, 02 or 03. with the 02 I would advice to make a basement as well. The other houses have at least two floors.

So here is my common house. its a weapon shop and the cell is called Showcase(very inventive I know:)).

This is a full review:
Clean: Very clean
Gridsnap Used: Yes
Northmarker Set: Yes
Fits Exterior: Yes
IllegalToSleepHere: Yes
Style Mixing: Yes, com_r and com_rm
Review:
Downstairs:
- one com_sack_01_ingred is flipped on its side and bled deep into the floor, that does not look natural.
- barrel_01_cheapfood20 is floating.
- both TR_w_iron_morningstar are slightly floating on the grips' side.
- all iron arrows are floating slightly on the tips' side.
- TR_Aug_silver longsword is floating on heft side. If you rotate weapons to match the surface keep in mind that the rotation point lays in the middle, effectively raising one end when you lower the other.
- in_c_door_wood_square, com doors need to be adjusted to fit the dooorjamb, you can look through the space between door and doorjamb.
Upstairs:
- clothes like expensive_shirt_01 should be 'f' ed twice so that it sinks a little, otherwise errors might occur. The pants are fine. Same for clothes on bed.
- the pillows need to be sunk a little more.
- TR_misc_com_silverware_dish_02 is slightly floating.
- misc_de_foldedcloth00 bleeds through silver dish.
- both misc_imp_silverware_plate_01 is slightly floating.
- both misc_imp_silverware_cup is slightly floating.
- all bottles are floating above table.
- furn_com_rm_table_03 bleeds into carpet.
We encourage to try all sorts of stuff as long as it looks good (and possible), what you did just under the roof is not going to work, sorry.
Comments:
It is a rather good interior, looks pretty and quite well cluttered, and it is a shame that you have used and mixed very poor com furn, like cupboards and closets, with very expensive com furn, like the bookshelves, tables and chairs. I believe you didn't know the difference. Anyway we require that you have no style mixing at all.
You have quite many slight floaters, be sure to 'f' every object you place.
I would suggest you to remove the cupboard, and make it com_rm downstairs, and com_r upstairs, so you do not need to start all over. That means that you have to remove the com_rm furniture upstairs and replace it with com_r. You can also use the com_rm tables to show weapons or armor, as a weaponshop would have both.
