This is very nice, Sload. With some cleaning up and polishing around the edges, it could possibly even be used in game. The last part, along with the note, are by far the best parts and with some rewording, could be very powerful.

Perhaps a simplified version for common writing. It seems to difficult to be written quickly and correctly. Even the Egyptians had Demotic and Coptic. There should be a common script.

I think he was saying that no one uses the common script anymore due to it being overwritten by the empire's language, and that it is no longer known. The complex thing only remains because of the strong traditions of the nobles, or something like that.
