Graphical Anomalies Strike Terror into Citizens of Morrowind
Breaking News: As of last week, strange graphical anomalies have begun to appear throughout the land of Morrowind. At first, only buildings were affected. But recently, even the citizens of our province have begun to have their face textures replaced with blue and white stripes. "The strangest thing about these stripes," says Shapeshiftr, one witness to the effects, "is that whenever I reach about 5 - 10 feet away from the stripes, they disappear." Witnesses have also reported another strain of the texture replacer in landforms across the island, which appears as not stripes, but a multi-colored confetti-like texture. Recent visitors of the Foreign Quarter canton of Vivec have sighted yet a third strain of the virus - edges of the massive building and surrounding bridges were reportedly absent of color. Witness further reported that after taking the gondola to another canton, this 3rd strain seemingly was not present in their new location. All strains share the same quality of reverting to their normal textures as "The Nerevarine," as citizens all across the land have begun to call him, approaches infected areas. Furthermore, this virus is present inside and outside of buildings, architectural structures, and terraform alike, though only on select, infected pieces.

If you want me to post screenies, I will, but I think you get the picture.

reading through your post, my first thoughts are that your graphics card is about to go the way of the guy in your avatar. I still remember when mine bought the farm a few years ago, things started getting pointy...

I'd have to agree with Thrig. I was a repair tech years ago and saw the stuff you describe many times. The only other thing I can think of is memory chip corruption but you'd probably have errors running programs if that was the case, meaning morrowind probably wouldn't even load.

I had to do that to my last graphics card, it kept dying then coming back to life, in the end the whole process just got a little too creepy for me to handle... There is only enough room in my flat for ONE vampire...

Vampire hardware, does that mean it rises from the garbage bin to suck the ram from the functioning hardware it finds?
