Statics for the Ash Swamp
FCG thread: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=22547

Atmospheric: Virtually no color in the ash swamp. Tones of gray or brownish gray should be the prevailing colors.

Withering mushroom trees: It's possible to adjust existing models and textures to create these. Textures should have less color. Note the white strands of fungus hanging from the trees (much like BC moss), and a white growth of the same fungus on the bark of the trees (include on textures).

Dead trees: It's possible to re-texture dead trees from the original game and paste the white strands of fungus on them. It's also possible to model a few trees from scratch.

Misc. objects:
Log, tree stump and the puffball mushroom (lower left, create a few variations of that one).

Separate pieces for the white fungus hanging from the trees, as seen on the right side of this image (much like the separate piece of BC moss):

White medium sized mushroom, should be up to a meter high in game:

Shriveled mushroom (concept in the middle). Small, maybe a flora container:

Also handy would be a grey and plant-less re-texture of the Bitter Coast sludge pool static.

Gnober's showcase modder application has covered all of this

could we get a review on these? I'd love to see them merged so that Nemon could be asked to throw together a concept for the region.

I wholeheartedly agree. I want to make some concepts.

Yes, some time this year.

I'll be going on a Christmas holiday from Thursday 16th, no access to my PC until January 3rd... So no Xmas concepts.

My post about 'some time this year' was in response to TF's post, not to the concepts ;-)

Approved. I didn't include ashswp_whtmush01.nif, because it needs more vertices on the top/bush part, and the trunk of the tree/mushroom needs to be rounder. Feel free to update the mesh with these specifications and re-upload the .nif here.

A few things though, Gnober, for the future.

In NifSkope set your default texture directory to Data Files\Textures\ instead of leaving it set as C:\...

All TR textures and meshes need to have a TR_ prefix in the file names

Double check to make sure your file paths for textures are up to date for your own texture files ;-)

Okay, I'll take a look at this... I thought i had changed the directory, but I'll make sure the next time...
And just to be on the safe side, are there any other things I need to know about naming conventions? Does the folders need the TR prefix too? Should the name of the meshes and textures be fx. TR_ashswp_something01?

I'm sorry if there is a post about naming conventions on the forum, I havent' been able to find one...

No, just a TR_ prefix will be helpful enough in naming them. I think you did end up changing the directory, but only halfway through some of the meshes. At least several of them referred to 'C:\Program Files\...' etc.

I have made some changes to the ashswp_whtmush01... I hope it's what you wanted:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/730654/TR_ashswp_whtmush01.nif
