Wingate's Concept-O-Rama

I will be using this thread to post any quick sketches, colored drawings, napkin-doodles, etc that I come up with that I think could be used or perhaps related one way or another.

Also, Keep in mind that my scanner completely broke-down (well, from what it seems) and no longer scans, so for a bit there will be nothing more to provide other than what was scanned before it's "demise."

Here they are:

Name: "Trick Slug" (needs a better name?)
Environment: Subterranean
My Description: Basically, this "worm" lives in dark underground places, namely the depths of natural caverns. It's tail loosely resembles golden minerals of sorts, and gives off a faint glow in the pitch black darkness. Any Adventurer that mistakes the tail for gold pieces will most likely be taken by surprise by the Trick Slug as it reers its head at the traveler.

Name: Mushroom Foilage
Extra Notes: Made as concept are for the mushroom forest (forget the name atm).

Name: JubJub Bird
Environment: marshy atmosphere, usually flies close to trees.
My Description: Inspired by the poem "The Hunting of the Jabberwock" by Lewis Carrol (he wrote Alice in Wonderland), the JubJub bird is a decrepit flying creature with dull red and blue feathers, that seem to fall off when it flaps its wings. Its very body and and appearance is as ugly as its hideous shrieks.
Extra Note: I also wantd to do illustrate another mentioned creature from Lewis Carroll's poem, "the Bandersnatch" (as it is favored in many rpg) but like I said, my scanner finally died out.

More to come tonight. For now, I have some babysitting to do for my sister.

The plant concepts look pretty cool. I don't like the creatures as much. They don't seem to have anything to do with Morrowind.

Yeah, the creatures are more "made up" or just not lore-friendly to morrowind. I don't know much about the creatures of Morrowind other than the ones that are already in game or the TR ones (including those in Concept art section), so I decided to draw up anything rpg'ish that I could think of for creatures.

I assume you guys used mostly stuff from the lore of TES, but I don't know exactly where to find these references besides the ones I've read about in a few morrowind books. Any help as to where I could find official sources/accounts of creatures of Morrowind would be very much appreiciated.

Also, I got a new scanner/printer, so, YIPEE! Sad thing is, most of my drawings I had wanted to scan, I lost. Expect new ideas by monday. Sorry about the "broken promise" at the end of my first post in this thread.

It's not problem, that they are made up. The main problem is,t hat they don't look like they belong to Morrowind :)
Look at the ceatures in game, the official concept arts, and the creatureshere

Yes I know, I'm a critic, the lame who tells you how to run. XD

Okay, I understand. Now that you mention it, the JubJub bird and Trick Worm do look closer to, say, Final Fantasy and other rpgs than they would to Morrowind (visually). I could always do more morrowind-ish creatures. Sad, though, cuz I had a nice idea for a "demon wall" creature, but even in it's visual concept, it looked more suited to D&D or something than morrowind.

Just wondering, though, would flying creatures that look "more like" birds than the cliff racers do fit in with morrowind?

As far as I know TR doesn't seek another flying creature.

Okay, I'll take note of that, too. Although I did draw a larger variation of the bloat fly - a flying creature, I believe.

I also drew up some other sketches of some flora and creatures, so I might make a post today rather than monday (*crosses fingers*).

Okay, here's a latest drawing. Couldn't get to my scanner at a preferrable time yesterday (in other words, by the time I got home, I was too tired to bother).

Name: "Mystery Plants" (I don't have a name for 'em, yet)

1. This is more of a venus fly-trap sort of plant. It is "tropical-ish," so maybe it could be found in the regions that border Argonia. I assume it would fit as just shrubbery like my fungus ones.

2. This one is more like a plant for Morrowind. After I finished I realized it resembled a strange kind of combination of Comberry, Saltrice and Nirnroot. Didn't really intend for that to happen, but oh well.

3. A "wall flower" of sorts. Again, tropical looking, near Black Marsh regions maybe. I like it, and if the morrowind engine could ever support it, I'd imagine the plant would grab unsuspecting adventurers with its "vine arms" and attempt to eat them. One could only dream...

Any way, I'm going to try and get around to scanning my other drawings I made over the weekend hopefully before I go to bed. I'll just edit this post when I do.

EDIT:

Here's the most recent scan of an over-the-weekend drawing (with ps touching up).

Top one is a "larger-than-life" bloat fly. Come to think of it, I'm not entirely sure what bloat flies looked like last time I played. It had been a while since I explored the mainland. I am aware now that TR isn't much/at all interested in new flying creatures, but though I'd leave it in with the other guy.

Bottom one is an aquatic life form that originally started out as an idea similar to the Netches. I gave it more water-life qualities and a nastie mouth. It resembles a shrimp with a face from hell, imo.

More to come...

The top one is a very old drawing I did that I figure could be used as an alternate Flesh Golem.

The bottom is a decaying, once-civilized cavern, seeing the end of its usefulness. I was inspired to draw it when I looked at some older posts in the ashswamp/mushroom forest thread and someone suggested caverns with roots in them (I don't know if that's what they said word for word).
