Hey Wollibeebee

First of all, Welcome to TR!

I took a quick look at your showcase and found a few issues:

- one of our exterior showcase guidelines states that you must not make an island, we'll need at least six all-land cells to properly review this showcase.

- you have quite a few rough vertices in your terrain. Be sure to use the smoothing tool to soften the landscape a bit.

- I see some visible texture seems. make sure you either fix them or hide them with statics.

I like the general feeling of your landscape and your castle's layout is original.

My advice for now is:

Make a showcase with at least 6 all-land cells. you can do that by either expanding on you current one or making a new one. Also make sure that all cells are properly detailed. a cell should have +- 200 references. And don't forget to smooth your landscape and fix any texture seems.

Good luck!

sorry, this as originally made for scamp over at P:C and he was fine with just 4 cells because i was busy on my moesring mountains mod.

know all about it.

scamp pointed those out, i never fixed it cause he let me on the team anyway, i'll fix them for TR though..

i'll probably expand it a bit more then, and fix those 2 mistakes.

When adding the two extra cells, try adding some elevated parts as well - I'd like to see how you handle that stuff. Cell borders may cut off as you like as long as the showcased ones are detailed.

Edit: Now that I got home and actually had a look at the file I see you had plenty of elevation already :) . Nvm then...

Hi Wolli!

Yes, please fix the silly seams and rough terrain. And what Nemon said.
I promoted you at P:C because I know what you can do in the CS ;)
You will still need to convince the big guys at TR though, keep working on it!

If Scamp promoted you for P:C I'd reckon you'd fit well in here in a short while :) .

Just had a look at the file, and the model looks pretty good, liking the rock texture, and the version with the hole drilled through it.

Now for the criticism: The waystones were supposed to have nordic script on them, like they are supposed to be distance markers or signs for the nords but unreadable to the player.

Also, the vandalism is a bit clean-cut looking. I'd recommend using a more dried blood-like colour, or adding some paint runs along the bottom, and messying up the design so it looks like a drunken yob did it :P

You're doing a good job, keep it up!

Hi, Wollibeebee!

I like the rock. One small thing I think could be improved:

The "figure" part of the markings looks much lower res than the text which doesn't look quite right. I assume you are dealing with low res source material for the figure; if you find yourself unable to improve the figure itself, it may actually be better to use slightly lower res text to avoid the disjointedness that comes with using varying texture resolutions on the same model, particularly when they are overlayed like that.

Late Reply../

knots, the rock and the figure were both the same sizes to begin with, but i could blur the rock.

though.. some feed back from TR modelers would be nice. :P

exteriors almost done, just finish up a couple of cells at P:C and making all the plants XD.

WIP showcase. Based on knowledge of wollibeebee's work at SHOTN and P:C ( http://www.wollibeebee.com/cyrodiil.html ) I promote you for exterior modding already. For future reference we should add that P:C and Shotn ext modders just be promoted, they know the drill.

Congrats,
my showcase took a year to get me promoted :D but that was due to my lack of skill.
