characters disappearance question

Post by MrBirbis »

hello, everybody,

I am now playing morrowind GOTY, and already completed all game's quests including main, miscellaneous and faction. And there is one thought in my head when I did it, which maybe will be a small idea..

There are some NPC, who somehow "disappear" from the game, but we all know that NPC cannot disappear, thay can only be killed or moved :)))
So:
Duvanius Platorius - a taxman for the Imperial Census and Excise took a gondola to mainland, there he can continue to look for Addhiranirr and collect taxes from her.

Caius Cosades - everybody knows about him, and knows that he return to Imperial City.

Elmusa Damori - member of the Thieves guild and disapear from the game after completing the Hlallu "Caldera Spy" quest. Maybe he gone to mainland also?

Tongue-Toad - that lizard also left the city, but nobody knows where. Maybe to mainland or his homeland?

Tiram Gadar - another spy, who has been captured when during Mages guild quest "catch a spy". What is the place, where those spies kept? Maybe imperial prison?

Eno Hlallu - he also disappear when I took his throne in Morag Tong. Where you put your black gloves, I cannot find them? :)

Tymvaul - son of the loving father in Bloodmoon, who decided to start his studies, but he don't know where maybe in dormitory in Skyrim?

So listed some characters who I remembered when I was playing and I know that there is more. The point is, maybe it would be nice to "return" those into game, but in other places with some nice conversations or even small quests?

I don't know, maybe you already thought about it, if not, for me it would be interesting your opinion about this. I am trying to catch all news from TR, P:C, S:HOTN, but I am quite new, I don't know a lot.

Regards, and "easy" monday morning :)

One of the standards we have at TR is to not modify original content as much as possible. I assume you are suggesting that we place some of these NPCs in the Morrowind mainland somewhere after they disappear from Vvardenfell, and this is completely plausible in my opinion. One guy I remember was Vodunius Nuccius, the guy in Seyda Neen who sells you the cursed ring to get a boat to Narsis. It would be easy work to have him transported to TR's Narsis once complete (the original game doesn't do anything to him), but in doing that we would have to edit the vanilla dialogue.

That being said, this does not mean such an idea is impossible. However it is unlikely that we will incorporate in our mod. Rather, you or anyone interested in the idea is more than welcome to make a small mod that adds these little edits for people to use as an optional addition to the experience, once the Morrowind mainland is complete.

Why edit the vanilla dialogue? Isn't it enough to make a TR clone of Vodunius and a script on the place where he is supposed to pop up (a tavern or a house or something like that) that enables him once the player has bought the ring?

(As long as there is a quest stage or some variable to check whether the player has bought the ring or not. I am not sure about that for Vodunius, but most other disappearing NPCs do have such quest stages.)

thanks for your replies guys, I understand the point, and that is what I want to know :)

Also I like arvisrend idea, in this way I think you don't feel like changing something in vanila game? Or maybe I am wrong and don't understand everything clearly.

But I will continue to keep my eyes on this, maybe it turns to reality :)
