FWIW, I had this problem with Solstheim's trees too. They won't show up as distant land statics, and only become visible within the original game's render distance. I tried tweaking the static sizes, but couldn't fix them. This tends to happen with noticeably large statics; as in, some wall sections and the big oak-like trees with the huge canopies.
Anyone else found a solution to this? That's assuming that it's a common problem with MGE, and not just my crappy laptop.
