Re: [!!!] TR IRC Chat [News]
A draft of the IRC post. Now with a link straight to the chatroom and some introductory text. Could use a bit more of the friendliness found here (though that may just be TF's dashing smile.)
----------
TR has an IRC chatroom. As you might expect, you can use this place to chat with other TR members. There's always someone online, but don't be surprised if it takes a few minutes for people to respond. We have important work to do after all
If you don't want to go through the hassle of choosing a client and getting everything set up, you can click here to join the chatroom. Just enter a nickname, press the big green start button, and you're connected!
People who end up frequenting the chatroom might want some way to protect their nickname. For that, Chatspike has Nickserv. In short, it lets you protect your username with a password.
For you advanced users with your own preferred clients, the channel information is listed below.
Server: irc.chatspike.net
Channel: #tamriel
Port: 6667
In case the server catches fire or some other disaster happens, our backup channel can be found here:
Server: irc.lolibot.net
Channel: #tamriel
Port: 6667
If this talk of dedicated clients sounds interesting to you, you can find links to a few in the spoiler box below.

The death of vanilla Morrowind will end this prophecy and unite all Morrowind fans again under one mod, one faith, one rule by our divine project. The puppet Morrowind overhaul mods will lay down their arms and bow to our will. Those who do not yield will be destroyed.

XChat is dead. It died when its developer tried to turn the Windows version into shareware (rather illegally).
It successor is Hexchat. Please link that instead, as it is still twitching.

I consider this sticky finished and have moved it over to the proper location. I will keep this thread, de-stickied, in Project Organization in case people want to discuss any further changes. Also, the old version of the sticky is posted below:
The TR IRC chatroom is on the Chatspike network; the channel is #tamriel.

Friendly reminder to those who may not know already: IRC is a more laid back form of internet communication. Do not be surprised if no one responds to you immediately. A few members are always logged in, so they should be able to see any messages. We have people across a wide variety of timezones though so, as long as you stick around, your questions or comments will be answered. From my personal experience, the hours after 12:00 AM GMT/UST seem to be popular, and I am often on before then.
(Going to be extra annoying and make this a global announcement so the link can be on every page, just like the old chat link. Muahahaha)
~Gnomey appropriating and mostly preserving an outdated post by Thrignar Fraxis. PM me or another Lead Developer (but not Thrignar Fraxis or anyone with the title Developer Emeritus) if you have any questions.

#tamriel at irc.lolibot.net
Given the circumstances of which this channel is used, I hope NOT to see you there anytime soon ^^
