Claiming 6-14
Since I turned in my claim 6-25, can I do claim 6-14? I think that the rivers should be interesting.

Actually, i took a look at your 6-25 claim and i noticed that there are quite a few things you can do on it. There's really no rush, so its a good idea to do the best job you can. I've been working on my claim since the beginning of January... i think.. maybe it was in december sometime. .. and its tiny. To be honest, your claim needs lots of work before its ready for review, but i'm willing to help you out and give you some pointers .
I've attached a picture with some tips on it, for you, and for anyone else out there. My biggest advice would be to look at what Bethesda made, and try to do your work in a similar style.
Hopefully these will help you, but if you have any questions, please ask.

Also, Yoda, I noticed that you did not use any Molag Amur in the West Gash/Molag Amur area. I have a few pictures of the area in my 6-16 thread, so take a look at them. As Morden said, he has been putting a lot of time into a pretty small claim. My claim is about 40 cells and I've only fully done 1/4 of it since the beginning of Feburary or some time around then. This is because I am carefully placing statics and flora, making textures and landforms look realistic. Exteriors take a lot of work to do. I can't imagine how guys like Noirgrim made so many claims with such good quality. In my first claim I rushed and it came out pretty sloppy, so I know to take it slow and make good quality this time.
So, Yoda, I suggest you touch up and make your claim look very high quality before taking on another.

i'm sorry to say this, but i have to agree with morden and legolas-this claim still needs to be worked on...
main concerns are: complete lack of vertex shading under rocks [none present], too sloppy hills and the worst thing: there are way too many wg_rock arches which looks really bad [i don't underestand, why everyone use those just about everywhere].
also, there are some minor things, like in those forest cells, give us a reason to go there. i don't mean a wonder of world, but something nice and small, like a pile of rocks, cave entrance, tiny lake, or just a cluster of plants in nice settings... well, basicaly, something worth taking a screenshot.
anyway, it just needs a few details and finishing touches and it's gonna turn to be a good-looking claim.

Its like writing a book. You have to keep the reader interested every step of the way, or they will just put the book down...forever. You have to keep the player interested everywhere they go, or they will not explore your land. And then it just becomes a filler for the overall land. I've noticed that a lot of beginners think that they need a huge, beautiful city to make their claim grand. This is not the case. You just need patience. Take a look at a real garden somewhere. Take a vacation to the mountains or some other beautiful place (if you dont haven't ever been anywhere like that. I'm not saying you haven't). Pay very good attention to the real world. It will give you some ideas on how to place things in TES and make them realistic and look good.
You could also just look at Vvardenfell. Make it look like that. Though I personally disagree with that because I would rather see something new than see another Bethesda land.

Using Vvardenfell land is useful when not knowing what kind of details one should use. New ways of detailing can be done, it doesn't need to be a rip off from Vvardenfell. However, it's much easier to simply copy their work since you know it's already good looking. One can for an example copy clusters of detail used on Vvardenfell lands and use in ones own claim. To make it a bit unique, simply move around the small pieces of detail a bit and the detailing might even become a quick process.
Also, by experimenting on your own, you'll find ways to easily kill large empty areas in a good looking way. It could for an example be to use large rocks on an empty field. It certainly doesn't look bad, but it kills a lot of land without the need of placing a lot of flora and such (even tough the area around the stones will need some). Often check ingame if what you create looks good there aswell. Ingame you get an other perspective of things and can easily see if the vertexshading is good or if there's a good amount of detail for your eyes to feast on.
