Pirates/smuglers

Post by Anonymous »

I was thinking and came up with this idea wath if make pirates and then not the pirates who sack towns and kill and rape. But more the smugler types who kill and rape and maybe some boats in harbors with smuglers and stuff.

Any help here

Post by BalinMinister »

For my English class I wrote a very elaborate account of myself being a pirate...which was very amusing if i do say so myslef, and it helped my grade by pulling an A-, so if you want to use my work in TR as perhaps a "True Confessions of a Pirate" or simply a Code of Piratehood or a Journal of a Pirate, Id be happy to send over my work..

I hope i wont dissapoint you with it

Don't remember there being any rape involved :P. Would be kinda hard to script ;). I must admit though, that would make an interesting journal entry.....of course I don't see us getting by with that :P

As long as you can put the writings in the context of the world of Tamriel I would love seeing them. And autobiagraphy of a pirate would be great.

C'mon, Morrowind doesnt have any large enough sea for pirates to be there, Morrowind has smugglers, any imperial can spot a pirate from the other side of the land, Vvardenfell is in quaraine, how the heck will the "so-called" pirates cope with that?

The sea is connected to the great ocean surrounding all of tamriel. And there is a significant pirate problem on the east and northern coasts making the sea around morrowind a prime place for shelter. Not to mention there have been periods in history when the akaviri pirates were very storng. However I agree the pirate activity isn't great near morrowind but that's also where a good many pirates and smugglers flee to. even though it may not seem like it there is a good amount of trade that both goes across the Northern ocean of tamriel and also from one side of mainland morrowind to the other.
And yes in the scale of in game you can see from one side of the sea to the other but as far as lore is concerned the sea is actually fairly large.

Yeah, but uvam is located at the wrong side of the land, it doesnt seem plausible that the inner sea would contain pirates

Not as many but I believe there is a bit of storyline to Uvam although I could be wrong. (The wharf rats could exist as long as they are explained right).
And there is definitally a history of pirates even if there hasn't been a lot of recent activity. (I can't remember the exact books but there are several lore instances when the imperial army had trouble with pirates in the area which is also the justification for so many imperial settlements in the telvanni lands)
