List of Artifacts

Post by Kasan Moor »

Here is a list of artifacts. Two items in the list are only mentioned by name. Also be aware that this list contains spoilers. I have included everything from the list at the Imperial Library, and added some information not included there myself.

Grey=In Lore, not in a TES game
Green=In Arena
Blue=In Daggerfall
Brown=In Morrowind, but not complete (such as auriel's shield, wich lacks enchantment)
Black=In Morrowind
Red=In Oblivion

Note: If an artifact occurs in multiple games, it uses the color of the most recent game.

Artifacts

-The Elder Scrolls; These powerful tools of prophecy and divination, the prize of the Empire, tell of every event that ever has or will have happened. The Cyrodiilic Moth priests, who are their keepers, invoke the Elder Scrolls by ritually attuning them to a specific time or space and attempt to interpret the glyphs that form upon their surface. The Moth priests belong to a monastic order founded by Tiber Septim and dedicated to the god Julianos, the Cyrodiilic Divine whose sphere is 'literature, law, history, and contradiction.
The Scrolls are believed to be kept in the Imperial City and may be stored in the Hall Of Records, which may form part of the Imperial Palace.

-Wabbajack; Madness and chaos are the trademarks of Sheogorath. The Wabbajack embodies these same traits. Using the artifact on a creature will transform it into something else. The creature can become any one of the following monsters: rat, imp, spriggan, giant bat, grizzly bear, spider, nymph, harpy, skeletal warrior, giant, zombie, giant scorpion, iron atronach, flesh atronach, ice atronach, fire atronach, lich. The problem is the bearer has no way of controlling the transformation. He could change a giant bat into a lich, or a fire atronach into a rat. However, abuse of this artifact can cause serious side effects. The Hero of Daggerfall, whether accidentally or not, had summoned Daedra Prince Sheogorath. Sheogorath asked the hero to slay a battlemage in a certain dungeon. Upon finishing his part of the business, the Hero of Daggerfall visited one of Sheogorath’s worshippers and the Hero of Daggerfall was rewarded with a mad artifact called Wabbajack. After that event, no more sighting of this artifact.

-Sanguine Rose; The Sanguine Rose is not an artifact most folk would care to have. It summons a lesser daedra to the user. The daedra will attack any other creature in the area except the bearer of the rose. The rose is like any other in that it will wilt. The more of its power that is used, the more wilted it becomes. Eventually all its petals fall off and it loses its powers. Somewhere in Oblivion a new rose blooms and is plucked by Sanguine herself to be given to a new champion. At 16th of Sun's Dawn, the Hero of Daggerfall managed to summon Daedra Prince Sanguine. Sanguine offered the hero her rose for an exchange of eliminating a priest who dared to challenge her. Without so much problems, the Hero of Daggerfall finished the job and rewarded with Sanguine’s Rose. After that event, there is no more information of the resurfacing of the rose.

-The Ebony Blade; The Ebony Blade, sometimes called the Vampire or the Leech, resembles an ebony katana, and its power is very dark indeed. Every time the Ebony Blade strikes an opponent, part of the damage inflicted flows into the wielder as raw power. The Blade itself may not be any more evil than those who have used it, but at some point in its history, a charm was cast on it so it would not remain with any one bladesman for long. The wizard who cast this charm sought to save the souls of any too infatuated by the Blade, and perhaps he was right to do so.The location of the map to the resting place of the blade is unknown. One thing for sure, that the Eternal Champion was reported wielding this Ebony Blade. Later on, the Hero of Daggerfall managed to summoned Daedra Prince Mephala at 13th of Frost Fall. Mephala asked the hero to kill a troublesome minor noble. The hero finished the mission, and he received the Ebony Blade. After the Warp of the West, there is no more news about the location of the artifact.

-Auriel's Shield; A small group of acolytes who journeyed across the province of High Rock stumbled upon a cave that seemed to lead to deeper, darker depths. One of them read an inscription in the entrance which indicated this place as the new resting place for a map to Auriel's Shield. The shield was recovered by Eternal Champion in a certain dungeon in Summurset Isle. Later on, the shield owned by an unknown person who asked for help to the Fighters Guild. The Hero of Daggerfall took this challenge and rewarded with the shield. Nowadays, Drelyne Llenim a curate in Ghostgate owns this shield.
Enchantment: shield, fire resistance, and spell reflection.

-Auriel's Bow; The first recorded report of this artifact is from an ancient text of the Elven Lord Alendis. The text marks the location of the map that in turn points to the location of the artifact. The map was located somewhere in Valenwood, while the artifact itself was recovered by the Eternal Champion in his quest to overthrow Jagar Tharn. The artifact is later reported belong to an unknown person who asked for help to the Fighters Guild. The Hero of Daggerfall took this quest and rewarded with the bow. Finally the bow came to Ralyn Othravel, a disciple in Ghostgate, Morrowind. Lady Telvanni Therana, the mad Telvanni councillor asked the Nerevarine to acquire the bow for her for an exchange of pieces of daedric armors. We can assume that Therana owns the bow now.
Enchantment: lightning, drain fatigue, and drain magika.

-Lord's Mail; Sometimes called the Armor of Morihaus or the gift of Kynareth, this is an ancient cuirass of unsurpassable quality. It grants the wearer power to absorb health, resist the effects of spells, and cure oneself of poison when used. It is said that whenever Kynareth deigns the wearer unworthy, the Lord's Mail will be taken away and hidden for the next chosen one. One ancient record says that the armor was removed by Kynareth herself from Morihaus. The map to the final location of the armor was found in a dungeon in Skyrim. In turn, the map points the true location of the armor, which is in a dungeon somewhere in Black Marsh province. The Daggerfall Hero is reported owned this cuirass as well after he finished a quest for a Iliac Bay Knights Guild. Then, the Vvardenfell Imperial Legion owned the cuirass for years until it was stolen by Furius Acilius, a former member of the Imperial Legion. The mail finally came to the Nerevarine after he took the title of Knight of the Imperial Dragon from Varus Vatinius.

-Ebony Mail; The Ebony Mail is a breastplate created before recorded history by the Dark Elven goddess Boethiah. It is she who determines who should possess the Ebony Mail and for how long a time. If judged worthy, its power grants the wearer added resistance of fire, magicka, and grants a magical shield. It is Boethiah alone who determines when a person is ineligible to bear the Ebony Mail any longer, and the goddess can be very capricious. Somewhere in Black Marsh, was hidden the map that points out the place where the Dark Elven goddess Boethiah hid the Mail after she took it from Helath Stormbinder, a warrior she no longer favored. According to certain record, Eternal Champion also recovered the mail. Later on, at 2nd of Sun's Dusk, the Hero of Daggerfall summoned Daedra Prince Boethiah. She then asked the hero to eliminate a troublesome spellsword. The hero did as she asked and eventually was rewarded with the Ebony Mail. In Morrowind, the latest news reported that the Nerevarine was rewarded with this mail as well after he did a pilgrimage to Mount Assarnibibi shrine.

-Spell Breaker; Spell Breaker, superficially a Dwemer tower shield, is one of the most ancient relics of Tamriel. Aside from its historical importance in the Battle of Rourken-Shalidor, the Spell Breaker protects its wielder almost completely from any spell caster, either by reflecting magicks or silencing any mage about to cast a spell. It is said that Spell Breaker still searches for its original owner, and will not remain the property of anyone else for long. For most, possessing Spell Breaker for any length of time is power enough. King Rourken, last of the Dwarven Kings had Spell Breaker fashioned for him in his war against the Wizard Shalidor. It was lost in the final battle, and from time to time has reappeared in the land. The clue to where it was hidden found in Hammerfell province by the Eternal Champion. Too bad the location of the shield is not recorded. Years later, the Hero of Daggerfall summoned Daedra Prince Peryite at 9th of Rain's Hand. And after a vampire slaying for the Daedra Prince, the Hero of Daggerfall was rewarded with Spell Breaker. Later on, in Morrowind, the Nerevarine was asked by an elder vampire named Mastrius to find the shield for him. Originally Azura punished Mastrius, and in order to break the curse he needed the shield. The shield was hidden in Dwemer Ruin Bthuand. Mastrius later betrayed the Nerevarine after he received the shield, and eventually slain by the Nerevarine. The Nerevarine took the shield after the battle.

-Chrysamere; The Paladin's Blade is an ancient claymore with offensive capabilities surpassed only by its own defenses. It lends the wielder health, protects him or her from fire, and reflects any spells cast against the wielder back to the caster. A scribe in Alabaster, a port city in Elsweyr found a clue to the location of Chrysamere. The location was inscribed on a tablet in a place somewhere in Elsweyr. The Eternal Champion found this tablet and with it, he recovered Chrysamere in the province of Morrowind. Later on, the sword came to the Hero of Daggerfall as well, after he slain an ancient lich in one of Iliac Bay Knights Guild quests. In the time of the Nerevarine, Varus Vatinius, the Knight of the Dragon of Imperial Legion asked the Nerevarine to procure the sword from the a sorcerer, Draramu Hloran in Abanabi cave. Eventually the sword came to Vatinius. The Nerevarine owns this sword in the end.

-Staff of Magnus; The Staff of Magnus, one of the elder artifacts of Tamriel, was a metaphysical battery of sorts for its creator, Magnus. When used, it absorbs an enemy's health and mystical energy. In time, the Staff will abandon the mage who wields it before he becomes too powerful and upsets the mystical balance it is sworn to protect. Just before the Sorceror-King Magnus died, he trusted the only map to the location of the Staff of Magnus to the Blades, a secret society of warriors. The map is hidden somewhere in Elsweyr province. The Eternal Champion took the map. Eventually, the staff was owned by Eternal Champion after he wrestle it from a dungeon in Valenwood. In Daggerfall time, the Staff of Magnus was owned by the Hero of Daggerfall after he did a quest for one of the Iliac Bay Knights Guild. The Nerevarine was told by Ajira the Khajiit alchemist of the location of the staff. It was owned by Dreveni Hlaren, a dunmer sorcerer in Assu cave, somewhere on the slopes of Mount Kand.

-Warlock's Ring; The Warlock's Ring of the Arch-Mage Syrabane is one of the most popular relics of myth and fable. In Tamriel's ancient history, Syrabane saved all of the continent by judicious use of his Ring, and ever since, it has helped adventurers with less lofty goals. It is best known for its ability to reflect spells cast at its wearer and to improve his or her speed and health, though it may have additional powers. No adventurer can wear the Warlock's Ring for long, for it is said the Ring is Syrabane's alone to command. The ring was recovered somewhere in Elsweyr by the Eternal Champion after he found a map somewhere in Morrowind. Not very clear on this, just we know that the ring once in a possession of Arena hero. During the end of Daggerfall issue, which scholars called Warp in the West, the Emperor's agent Lady Brisienna gave this ring to Daggerfall Hero as a reward for bringing back the Totem of Numidium to the Empire. Years later, the ring was held by Vindamea Drethan, a sorceress in Ashirbadon, which is on an island near the ruins of Bal Fell. Ajira, the Khajiit alchemist of Balmora Guild of Mages told Nerevarine of this location. It may be presumed that now Nerevarine owned this ring.

-Ring of Phynaster; The Ring of Phynaster was made hundreds of years ago by a man who needed good defenses to survive his adventurous life. Thanks to the Ring, Phynaster lived for hundreds of years, and since then it has passed from person to person. The Ring improves its wearer's overall resistance to poison, magicka, and shock. Still, Phynaster was cunning and cursed the ring so that it eventually disappears from its holder's possessions and returns to another resting place, discontent to stay anywhere but with Phynaster himself. Phynaster was killed by Wharf Rats. Then the ring was hidden in one of Wharf Rats hideout. The map of the hidden ring was stored in one of Summurset Isle hideout. The Eternal Champion went to the hideout and took the map, then he went to Elsweyr to finally wrestle the ring from the grasp of Wharf Rats. Later on, the ring was owned by strange person named Pop Je. After his death, he was buried in Senim Ancestral Tomb in Sheogorad Region of Vvardenfell.

-Ring of Khajiit; The Ring of the Khajiit is an ancient relic, hundreds of years older than Rajhin, the thief that made the Ring famous. It was Rajhin who used the Ring's powers to make himself invisible and as quick as the breath of wind. Using the Ring, he became the most successful burglar in Elsweyr's history. Rajhin's eventual fate is a mystery, but according to legend, the Ring rebelled against such constant use and disappeared, leaving Rajhin helpless before his enemies. An old scroll says that a friend of Rajhin himself was contacted by the spirit of Rajhin. Rajhin talked about the location of the ring, where it was hidden by Underking. The map of the location was discovered by the Eternal Champion somewhere in the swamp of Black Marsh. The ring was eventually owned by the Eternal Champion, helped him in the quest to overthrow Jagar Tharn. Later on, the ring was given to the Hero of Daggerfall after he summoned Meridia at 13th of Morning Star, and finished one elimination job for her. Also, the ring finally was given to the Nerevarine, this time by Daedra Prince Mephala, obviously as a reward for doing a job well. Mephala demanded a vengeance to one of the Morag Tong's assassins that had been taking jobs outside of the order. His name is Balyn Omavel. The Nerevarine initially summoned the Daedra Prince Mephala in Morag Tong's hideout in Vivec City.

-Mace of Molag Bal; Also known as the Vampire's Mace, the Mace of Molag Bal drains its victims of magicka and gives it to the bearer. It also has the ability to transfer an enemy's strength to its wielder. Molag Bal has been quite free with his artifact. There are many legends about the Mace. It seems to be a favorite for vanquishing wizards. The Hero of Daggerfall summoned Daedra Prince Molag Bal exactly at 20th of Evening Star. Molag Bal then asked the hero to slay a mage who had offended the Daedra Prince. After finishing the mission, the hero received the Mace of Molag Bal from one of Molag Bal’s agents. Later on, the Nerevarine of Morrowind managed to summon Molag Bal at his shrine of Yansirramus. The Daedra Prince then asked the Nerevarine to kill Menta Na, a Daedroth Monarch, who had grown lazy, and defied Molag Bal's bidding. In the dungeon of Kora-Dur, the Nerevarine confronted the Daedroth and managed to kill it. Then the Mace of Molag Bal was rewarded to the Nerevarine for a job well done.

-Masque of Clavicus Vile; Ever the vain one, Clavicus Vile made a masque suited to his own personality. The bearer of the Masque is more likely to get a positive response from the people of Tamriel. The higher his personality, the larger the bonus. The best known story of the Masque tells the tale of Avalea, a noblewoman of some renown. As a young girl, she was grossly disfigured by a spiteful servant. Avalea made a dark deal with Clavicus Vile and received the Masque in return. Though the Masque did not change her looks, suddenly she had the respect and admiration of everyone. A year and a day after her marriage to a well connected baron, Clavicus Vile reclaimed the Masque. Although pregnant with his child, Avalea was banished from the Baron's household. Twenty one years and one day later, Avalea's daughter claimed her vengeance by slaying the Baron. The Hero of Daggerfall summoned Daedra Prince Clavicus Vile at 1st of Morning Star. Clavicus Vile asked the hero to kill a werewolf for an exchange of the Masque of Clavicus Vile. The Hero of Daggerfall finished the quest and in short time, he was rewarded with the masque. In the time of the Nerevarine, the Masque of Clavicus Vile was owned by a lousy Nordic Necromancer in Dagon Fel. His name is Sorkvild the Raven. The Imperial Legion asked the Nerevarine to kill the necromancer. Without much problem, the necromantic menace was eliminated and the masque came to the possession of the Nerevarine.

-Mehrunes Razor; The Dark Brotherhood has coveted this ebony dagger for generations. This mythical artifact is capable of slaying any creature instantly. History does not record any bearers of Mehrune's Razor. However, the Dark Brotherhood was once decimated by a vicious internal power struggle. It is suspected that the Razor was involved. At 20th of Sun's Dusk, the Hero of Daggerfall summoned Daedra Prince Mehrunes Dagon. Mehrunes Dagon promised to give the hero his razor if he managed to kill a troublesome frost daedra. After the life of frost daedra was ended, the hero received the powerful blade known as the Mehrunes Razor. Then the blade disappeared and somehow came to the possession of Varner Hleras. Hleras died and buried in Alas Ancestral Tomb. The blade was abandoned for many years, until eventually the Nerevarine, with the information from Mehrunes Dagon himself, found the tomb, took the rusty blade and brought the blade back to Mehrunes Dagon shrine of Yasamiddan. Mehrunes Dagon fixed the rusty blade, and then gave the blade to the Nerevarine.

-Cuirass of the Savior's Hide; Another of Hircine's artifacts was the Cuirass of the Savior's Hide. The Cuirass has the special ability to resist magicka. Legend has it that Hircine rewarded his peeled hide to the first and only mortal to have ever escaped his hunting grounds. This unknown mortal had the hide tailored into this magical Cuirass for his future adventures. The Savior's Hide has a tendency to travel from hero to hero as though it has a mind of its own. The cuirass, along with the other set of Savior's Hide armor, plays a significant role during the Battlespire issue. With this set of armor, the Hero of Battlespire were able to wield spear of Bitter Mercy, and use it to banish Mehrunes Dagon back to Oblivion. After that , the cuirass is owned by Dyvaith Fyr, an ancient sorcerer and also collector extraordinary. The whereabout of the rest of the Savior's Hide armor is unknown.

-Spear of Bitter Mercy; One of the more mysterious artifacts is the Spear of Bitter Mercy. Little to nothing is known about the Spear. There are no recorded histories but many believe it to be of Daedric origin. The only known legend about it is its use by a mighty hero during the fall of the Battlespire. The hero was aided by the Spear in the defeat of Mehrunes Dagon and the recapturing of the Battlespire. Since that time, the Spear of Bitter Mercy has made few appearances within Tamriel. It is said to reflect spells and it would summon a storm atronach when used. This is a well-known artifact found first time in Battlespire. The Hero of Battlespire was trapped in Chimera of Desolation, and in order to escape from the place he had to slay the daedra Herne Egahirm. The daedra can only be killed by using the spear. To wield the spear without suffering the negative effects however, the hero must wears the Armor of Savior's Hide. It was Chimere Graegyn who told the hero how to use the spear and to slay the daedra. Later in the time of the Nerevarine, the negative effects were removed. Why and how, nobody knows. The Nerevarine summoned Daedra Prince Sheogorath in his shrine of Ihinipalit, somewhere in Vivec City. Sheogorath offered to reward the Nerevarine well if he did a service for him. The Nerevarine was asked to go to the northernmost points of Tamriel, and retrieve the Fork of Horripilation from a mad Argonian, Big Head. Then he must use the fork to kill a giant bull netch. After the slaying of the netch, which was not easy with just a fork, the Nerevarine returned to Ihinipalit and Sheogorath rewarded the Nerevarine with the Spear of Bitter Mercy.

-Daedric Scourge; The Daedric Scourge is a mighty mace forged from sacred ebony in the Fires of Fickledire. Also know as Mackkan's Hammer or Bane of Daedra and the legendary weapon of Mackkan, it was once a fierce weapon used to send spirits of black back into Oblivion. The weapon has the ability to summon creatures from Oblivion, Once a tool used against the Daedric Lords in the Battlespire, it now roams the land with adventurers. Divayth Fyr, an ancient Telvanni sorcerer owns this weapon, after Mehrunes Dagon's raid of Battlespire. How he acquired the weapon is unknown. Some people say that Dyvaith Fyr is the Hero of Battlespire. However, Master Fyr was just laughing when he heard that.

-Bow of Shadows; Legend has it that the Bow of Shadows was forged by the Daedra Nocturnal. The legendary ranger, Raerlas Ghile, was granted the Bow for a secret mission that failed, and the Bow was lost. Raerlas did not go down without a hearty fight and is said to have, with the aid of the Bow, taken scores of his foes with him. The Bow grants the user the ability of invisibility and increased speed. Many sightings of the Bow of Shadows have been reported, and it is even said that the sinister Dark Elf assassin of the Second Era, Dram, once wielded this bow. However after his death, the bow dissapeared. Eventually this bow came in the possession of Goris the Maggot King who lives in the Venim Ancestral Tomb.

-Fists of Randagulf; Randagulf of Clan Begalin goes down in Tamrielic history as one of the mightiest warriors from Skyrim. He was known for his courage and ferocity in battle and was a factor in many battles. He finally met his fate when King Harald conquered Skyrim. King Harald respected this great hero and took Randagulf's gauntlets for his own. After King Harald died, the gauntlets disappeared. The King claimed that the Fists granted the bearer added strength. Both gauntlets are hidden in 6th House base of Ilunibi, Khartag Point, Vvardenfell.

-Ice Blade of the Monarch; The Ice Blade of the Monarch is truly one of Tamriel's most prized artifacts. Legend has it that the Evil Archmage Almion Celmo enchanted the claymore of a great warrior with the soul of a Frost Monarch, a stronger form of the more common Frost Atronach. The warrior, Thurgnarr Assi, was to play a part in the assassination of a great king in a far off land, and become the new leader. The assassination failed and the Archmage was imprisoned. The Ice Blade freezes all who feel its blade. The Blade circulates from owner to owner, never settling in one place for long. It was on the possession of Llaren Terano, a sorcerer in the ancient dunmer stronghold of Rotheran. Llaren Terano attacked the Nerevarine while the he was on the quest for the Imperial Cult. In self-defense the Nerevarine killed Terano, and eventually the Nerevarine took the blade.

-Ring of Surroundings; Little is known of this prize but it is said that it lends the wearer the ability to blend in with their surroundings. The ring is owned by Llaro Llethri, a Hlaalu member who works in Dren Plantation, Vvardenfell. Another Ring of Surroundings was given to the Nerevarine by Larrius Varro, the Imperial Legion leader of Moonmoth Legion Fort, Balmora.

-Boots of the Apostle; When Talos Stormcrown was a young man in Skyrim, he went into the mountains to learn the secrets of the Greybeards. He learned the secrets of the high peak winds -- the roar of the winter blast, and the warm silk of the summer updrafts. When he descended from the mountains, he came riding the clouds, striding through the air in great boots he claimed were gifts of the Greybeards for his cunning craft and riddling. After Septim yielded his crown, the boots disappeared, and have been lost for many years. The Boots of the Apostle are a true mystery. The wearer of the boots is rumored to be able to levitate. The Boots of the Apostle was recovered by the Nerevarine from ancient Dunmer Stronghold, Berandas. It was a quest asked by the Oracle of the Imperial Cult.

-The Mentor's Ring; This ring is a prized possession for any apprentice to magic. It lends the wearer the ability to increase their intelligence and wisdom, thus making their use of magic more efficient. The High Wizard Carni Asron is said to be the creator of the Ring. It was a construct for his young apprentices while studying under his guidance. After Asron's death, the Ring and several other possessions vanished and have been circulated throughout Tamriel. Rumor says it is hidden in the Samarys Ancestral Tomb somewhere in Bitter Coast Region, Vvardenfell.

-Ring of the Wind; No facts are known about this Ring, but the title and the few rumors lend one to think it grants the wearer added speed. The ring was owned by Galmis Dren a battlemage who lived in Nammu Cave. The Nerevarine on his quest for Oracle of Imperial Cult, killed Galmis Dren and took the ring.

-Vampiric Ring; One of the more deadly and rare artifacts in Tamriel is the Vampiric Ring. It is said that the Ring has the power to steal its victim's health and grant it to the wearer. The exact nature and origin of the Ring is wholly unknown, but many elders speak of its evil creation in Morrowind long, long ago by a cult of Vampire followers. The Vampiric Ring is an extremely rare artifact and is only seen every few hundred cycles of the moons. The Vampiric Ring is owned by an undead war-wizard who lives in Ald Redaynia, in the north of Vvardenfell.

-Eleidon's Ward; Eleidon was a holy knight of legend in Breton history. He was a sought after man for his courage and determination to set all wrongs right. In one story, it is said that he rescued a Baron's daughter from sure death at the hands of an evil warlord. For his reward, the Baron spent all of his riches to have an enchanted shield built for Eidelon. The Shield granted Eleidon the opportunity to heal his wounds. Rumor says it's located in a hidden daedric tomb of Ibar-Dad, a cave in Sheogorad Region, Vvardenfell.

-Staff of Hasedoki; Hasedoki was said to have been a very competitive wizard. He wandered the land in search for a wizard who was greater than he. To the best of all knowledge, he never found a wizard who could meet up to his challenge. It is said that he felt so lonely and isolated because so many feared his power, that he bonded his life-force into his very own staff, where his soul remains to this very day. Magic users all over Tamriel have been searching for this magical staff. Granting its wielder a protection of magicka, it is a sure prize for any magic user. The Staff of Hasedoki is owned by an orcish sorcerer who lives in the Gimothran Ancestral Tomb, somewhere in the central Vvardenfell.

-Bloodworm Helm; The King of Worms was said to have left behind one of his prized possessions, the Bloodworm Helm. The Helm is a construct of magically formed bone. The Helm allows the user to summon skeletons and control the undead. It would be a prized artifact to a necromancer. The artifact is owned by Crazy Batou, an insane Nord who lives in a tomb known as Maren Ancestral Tomb somewhere in the central Vvardenfell.

-Dragonbone Mail; This cuirass is one of the greatest artifacts any collector or hero could own. It is constructed of real dragon bone and was enchanted by the first Imperial Battlemage, Zurin Arctus, in the early years of the Third Era. It is a truly exquisite piece of work and many have sought to possess it. The properties of the Cuirass allow the wearer to be resist fire, and to damage an enemy with a blast of fire. Little is known about the involvement of Zurin Arctus with the enchantment of the Cuirass, but an old tale speaks of a debt that he owed to a traveling warrior. Like the warrior, the Dragonbone Mail never stays put for long. Located somewhere in an ancient Dwemer Checkpoint ruin named Mudan in the south Ebonheart. It is underwater. Apparently, the site was not underwater before. The eruption of the Vvardenfell, which resulted the creation of the Morrowind Inner Sea, sunk this Dwemer Checkpoint.

-Skull Crusher; The Skull Crusher is an amazingly large, and powerful weapon. The Warhammer was created in a fire, magically fueled by the Wizard, Dorach Gusal, and was forged by the great weaponsmith, Hilbongard Rolamus. The steel is magically hardened and the weight of the weapon is amazingly light, which makes for more powerful swings and deadly blows. The Warhammer was to be put on display for a festival, but thieves got it first. The Skull Crusher still travels Tamriel in search of its creators. The great hammer was hidden in Forgotten Vaults of Anudnabia, Forge of Hilbongard. Taken by the Nerevarine on his quest for Oracle of the Imperial Cult.

-Goldbrand; This magical Sword is almost a complete mystery. Thieves tell tales about its golden make and how it was actually forged by ancient dragons of the North. Their tales claim that it was given to a great knight who was sworn to protect the dragons. The Sword lends its wielder the ability to do fire damage on an enemy. Goldbrand has not been sighted in recent history and is said to be awaiting a worthy hero. With difficulties the Nerevarine managed to dive the sea near Hla Oad and recovered the sunken shrine of Boethiah. Boethiah spoke to the Nerevarine, asked him to establish a new shrine for him. Nerevarine found a sculptor in Caldera. He is an orc named Duma gro-Lag. With a book titled Boethiah’s Glory, the orcish sculptor built a new shrine of Boethiah in Karthag Point. After the shrine built, Boethiah rewarded the Goldbrand to the Nerevarine.

-Fang of Haynekhtnamet; Black Marsh was once known to be inhabited with what the Argonians called the Wamasus. Northern men considered them to be intelligent dragons with lightning for blood. One such mighty beast, Haynekhtnamet, was slain by the Northern men, though it took 7 days and nights, and a score of men. One of the surviving men took a fang home as a trophy. The fang was carved down into a blade and fashioned into a small dagger. The Dagger mysteriously houses some of the beast's magical properties and grants the user the ability to do shock damage on an opponent. This unique Dagger is seen occasionally by traveling heroes. The dagger is reported hidden in 6th House base of Mamaea, Wesh Gash Region, Vvardenfell.

-Umbra Sword; The Umbra Sword was enchanted by the ancient witch Naenra Waerr, and its sole purpose was the entrapment of souls. Used in conjunction with a soul gem, the Sword allows the wielder the opportunity to imprison an enemy's soul in the gem. Naenra was executed for her evil creation, but not before she was able to hide the Sword. The Umbra Sword is very choosy when it comes to owners and therefore remains hidden until a worthy one is found. The Umbra Sword is owned by a long-lived orc named Umbra. With the sword he had travelled far and wide throughout Tamriel, and now he seeks an end of his long life, a warrior's death.

-Denstagmer's Ring; All that is known of this Ring is that it may grant the user protection from certain elements. Even the name Denstagmer is a mystery. The ring is located in one of the urns in Falas Ancestral Tomb. Somewhere in the West Gash Region of Vvardenfell.

-Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw; One of Valenwood's legendary heroes is Oreyn Bearclaw. Son of King Faume Toad-Eye, he was a respected clan hunter and a future leader. Wood Elven legend claims Oreyn single handedly defeated Glenhwyfaunva, the witch-serpent of the Elven wood, forever bringing peace to his clan. Oreyn would go on to accomplish numerous other deeds, eventually losing his life to the Knahaten Flu. His Helm stood as a monument of his stature for future generations to remember. The Helm was lost eventually, as the Clan split, and is now a treasured artifact for adventurers. The Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw is rumored to improve the wearers agility and endurance. The Nerevarine managed to summon Daedra Prince Malacath in his shrine of Assurdirapal. The Daedra Prince then asked the Nerevarine to track the last of the Oreyn Bearclaw family bloodline, and kill him. The elven hero, Oreyn Bearclaw in reality was not a hero, all the deeds that he claimed were performed by Kharag gro-Khar, an Orc. Malacath was offended by this fact, so he asked the Nerevarine to kill the last of the Oreyn Bearclaw family bloodline. After a long journey to the Vivec city, the Nerevarine finally found the last of the family bloodline in Gnaar Mok. He was Farvyn Oreyn. He tried to eliminate the Nerevarine, however, it was he in the end that was eliminated. The Nerevarine returned to Assurdirapal, and Malacath rewarded him with the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw.

-Daedric Crescent Blade; Probably the most rare and even outlawed item of all the great prizes is the Daedric Crescent Blade. The Blade was used by Mehrunes Dagon's Daedric forces in the capture of the Imperial Battlespire. These extremely unique Blades were gathered up and destroyed after the Battlespire was recaptured by the Empire. All but one it seems. Though the Empire believes them all to be destroyed, it is rumored that one still remains in existence, somewhere in Tamriel, though none have ever seen it. The Blade lends it's weilder the ability to do great damage on an enemy and allows him to paralyze and put heavy wear on his enemy's armor. Quite the prize for any mighty warrior, if it does indeed exist. Divayth Fyr, an ancient Telvanni sorcerer owns a strange amulet. When this amulet equipped the person who equipped it will be transported to a strange dimension. In this dimension, one of the blades, exists… in the possession of Lord Dregas Volar, a powerful Dremora.

-Azura's Star; The Hero of Daggerfall summoned Daedra Prince Azura at 21st of First Seed. Azura then asked the hero to assassinate a priest who had been saying very rude things about Azura. The hero did the job, and in the appointed day, one of Azura’s messengers gave the star to the Hero of Daggerfall. Later on, the Nerevarine summoned Azura in her shrine in Azura’s Coast. Azura asked the Nerevarine to go to Sheogorad Region to eliminate Sheogorath’s daedra, and prevent them disturbing Rayna Drolan. The Nerevarine should bring back a prove of Sheogorath’s influence. The Nerevarine did exactly like Azura asked, and in the end, she gave her star to the Nerevarine. The Star acts as a reusable soul gem. The soul of any creature killed by the bearer of the Star is trapped within it. If the Star already carries a soul, nothing happens. Using Azura s Star empties it, freeing the trapped soul to make its journey to Oblivion. Azura's Star can be used to make magical items over and over and over.

-Oghma Infinium; The Oghma Infinium is a tome of knowledge written by the Ageless One, the wizard-sage Xarses. All who read the Infinium are filled with the energy of the artifact which can be manipulated to raise ones abilities to near demi-god proportions. Once used, legend has it, the Infinium will disappear from its wielder. It leaves one with 30 bonus points to distribute among the character's attributes as one wants. The location of the Oghma Infinium was recorded in a tablet in an ancient tomb somewhere in the deep frozen waste of Skyrim. However the tome itself was uncovered deep in the province of Valenwood. In Iliac Bay, the Daggerfall Hero summoned Daedra Prince Hermaeus Mora 5th of First Seed. Then he was given a quest to kill a certain scrofulous patrician who had aroused Daedra Prince’s displeasure. Upon finishing the quest, the hero was rewarded by the legendary tome of knowledge. There is no more information of the tome nowadays.

-Volendrung; The Hammer of Might, Volendrung is said to have been created by the Dwarves of the now abandoned clan of Rourken, hundreds of years before they disappeared from the world of Tamriel. It has the ability to grant health to its wielder, but it is best known for the paralyzing and strength leeching effects it has when cast at an enemy. Like the Dwarves who created it, Volendrung is prone to disappearing suddenly, resurfacing sometimes in days, sometimes in eons. In the Pocket Guide to the Empire, it is stated "the Rourken chieftain threw his mighty hammer, Volendrung, across Tamriel, promising to lead his clansmer to 'wherever it should fall.' This mythic image has been depicted on the walls of several ruins in Hammerfell: a mass exodus of golden-clad dwarves, trudging through the Cyrodilic forests, Volendrung a falling star in the night sky before them, urging them on." Long after that event, the Eternal Champion recovered a map in Hammerfell, with it he finally found the dwemeri hammer of Volendrung in Morrowind. The Hero of Daggerfall received this hammer later on after he did a service for Daedra Prince Malacath. The hero summoned Malacath at 8th of Frost Fall. Malacath asked the Hero of Daggerfall to slay a troublesome daedra seducer. After the hero finished his part of the business, one of Malacath’s servants gave the Volendrung to the Hero of Daggerfall. Finally after wandering throughout Tamriel, the hammer returned to Morrowind. Yagrum Bagarn, the Last Living Dwarf has this hammer in his closet.

-Namira's Ring; Namira is aligned with the darker side of nature, as is her ring. While the ring is being worn, any damage the bearer takes is suffered by the attacker as well. Spells and missile attacks are ignored. How much damage the attacker suffers depends upon his nature. Animals and Spriggans take no damage, being creatures of natures. Daedric beings only take half the damage they do, being supernatural creatures. Humanoids and monsters take full damage. Undead take twice the damage they dole out, because they are wholly unnatural creatures. The Hero of Daggerfall summoned Daedra Prince Namira at 9th of Second Seed. She promised the hero her ring if he can kill an ancient vampire who had displeased her. After finishing the mission, the hero was rewarded with the Ring of Namira. After that event, no more information of the location of this ring.

-Skull of Corruption; Using the Skull of Corruption on an opponent creates a duplicate of the victim. However, this duplicate will attack the original, not the wielder of the Skull. There is a story about the Thieves Guild Master and the skull that is probably fiction, but highly amusing. The Master used the skull on her enemy, creating a clone of him to fight. After defeating the original, the clever duplicate snatched the Skull from the Master and used it on her. Although the cloned enemy could not directly attack the Master, it could use the Skull to create a duplicate Master. The two clones jointly ruled the Thieves Guild for years. The Hero of Daggerfall exactly at 10th of Sun’s Height summoned Daedra Prince Vaernima. Vaernima asked the hero to slay a lich in a certain dungeon. She offered the Skull of Corruption if the hero managed to kill this lich. Later on, after the lich had been eliminated, one of Vaernima’s agents gave the skull to the Hero of Daggerfall. Currently, there is no more information of the resurfacing of this dreaded artifact.

-The Skeleton Key; The power of the Skeleton's Key is very simple, indeed. With it, any non-magically locked door or chest is instantly accessible to even the clumsiest of lockpickers. A particularly skillful lockpicker may even open some magically barred doors with the Key. The two limitations placed on the Key by wizards who sought to protect their storehouses were that the Key could only be used once a day and it would never be the property of one thief for too long. Some of those who have possessed the Key have made themselves rich before it disappeared, others have broken into places they never should have entered. Once a day this key allows one to open one non-magical lock, or a good chance at opening a low level magical lock. The Skeleton’s Key was owned for the first time by a person named Arrovan. No information of this person found, it's just there spoken by thieves everywhere that the first owner of the Skeleton’s Key is Arrovan. Eternal Champion took a map from a dungeon in Valenwood, that points to the final hiding place of Skeleton’s Key. It was in Summurset Isle. Needless to say that the key was eventually came to a possession of Eternal Champion. Long after that, the Hero of Daggerfall summoned Daedra Prince Nocturnal at 8th of Hearthfire. She demanded that the hero to slay a troublesome mage, who in turn was a member of Mages Guild. Risking the wrath of the guild, the hero finally managed to kill the mage, and one of Nocturnal’s messengers gave the Skeleton’s Key to the hero. Later on in Morrowind, Gentlemen Jim Stacey of Vvardenfell branch of Thieves Guild, owned the Skeleton’s Key. The key finally was given to the Nerevarine when Stacey retired of all operational of the Thieves Guild.

-Hircine's Ring; The curse of lycanthropy has its advantages. The incredible strength, speed, ferocity of a werebeast make it a fearsome opponent. There are, of course, disadvantages. The bearer of the Hircine Ring can choose when to be a lycanthrope and when not. Essentially this gives him all the advantages with few of the negatives. In one of the Witches Covens, the Hero of Daggerfall summoned Daedra Prince Hircine. Hircine then asked the hero to kill a wereboar for an exchange of Hircine’s Ring. The hero did the mission and thus he gained the ring. There is no more record of the ring, until recently the ring came to the possession of Tharsten Heart-Fang, a Nordic Skaal Chieftain. Heart-Fang and the Nerevarine were captured by Hircine’s werewolves for Wildhunt ritual; where there is only one person who can finally survive Hircine’s maze to be honored and to face Hircine himself in his deadly game. Heart-Fang used the ring to transform himself into a werewolf and attacked the Nerevarine. Heart-Fang’s action forced the Nerevarine to defend himself. The Nerevarine in the end, took the ring from the dead body of Tharsten Heart-Fang, and continue on with Hircine’s game.

-Staff of Chaos; An enchanter named Loreth back in the First Era created the staff. The Staff and other artifact known as Horn of Summoning were come to the possession of Tiber Septim. While Septim took the horn, the staff was given to General Symmachus. He brought the staff to Mournhold, and hid the staff in Old Mournhold with the help of the R'Aathim clan. After that no more record of this staff, until Lady Barenziah was tricked by a bard named Nightingale. She was tricked to open the seal of place that said to be the holding place of Horn of Summoning. In fact it was the place where Symmachus hid the Staff of Chaos 300 years earlier. Immediately, Nightingale stole the staff and fled. Shortly thereafter, Jagar Tharn (it is obvious that he was the bard Nightingale) took over the throne of Cyrodiil in the form of Uriel Septim VII. The real Emperor himself was banished to another dimension by using the power of the staff. Then, all the power of the staff was suffused into Jewel of Fire in order to break the staff. The jewel also contained the life force of Tharn himself. The staff was broken into eight pieces and hidden in eight different provinces. The Eternal Champion managed to collect all the pieces in a long ten years with the help of the ghost of Ria Silmane and Lady Barenziah. He confronted Tharn in the Imperial Palace and managed to touch the combined staff to the Jewel of Fire. In that very moment, all the stolen power of the staff was released with the death of Jagar Tharn. The released power destroyed the staff and opened the prison dimension of Uriel Septim VII, releasing the Emperor.

-Ghiron's Hammer; A special Dwarven hammer, wich when used on a magical anvil produces a magical tone that indicates the location of the last piece of the staff of chaos.

-Necromancer's Amulet; The legendary Necromancer's Amulet, the last surviving relic of the mad sorceror Mannimarco, grants any spellcaster who wears it the ability to regenerate from injury, and absorb magicka. The bearer also becomes wise beyond his years. This artifact is popular amongst mages. It is the one flaw of the Amulet that it is unstable in this world forever doomed to fade in and out of existence, reappearing at locations distant from that of its disappearance. A noble of High Rock told the Eternal Champion of the location of the map to the amulet's location. The map was found in High Rock while the amulet itself was uncovered somewhere in Summurset Isle. The Daggerfall Hero owned this amulet as well after he finished a quest for one of the Knights Guild of Iliac Bay. Years later, the amulet came to the possession of Trebonius Artorius, the Archmage of Vvardenfell branch of Mages Guild. He was slain by the Nerevarine in a duel, and the amulet is finally owned by the Nerevarine.

-BiPolar Blade; Legend has it that a nobleman sank his fortune into creating a blade of supreme power. Two smiths on opposite ends of Tamriel created each half of the blade, unaware of the other, with the hope that no one man, save the owner of the blade, would know its true power. Unfortunately, the smiths were not given enough instruction, and created halves with enchantments that completely negated each other. Sunel Hlas, a dunmeri trader, rewarded this blade to the Nerevarine after he arranged a wife for him.

-Mace of Slurring; It is said that it was crafted near the end of the Second Age by Kyanka, a slightly deranged Altmer weaponsmith and enchanter. He had a rather warped sense of humor, and apparently delighted at the thought of reducing opponents to a gibbering mess before crushing them to death. The mace has, admittedly, seen little use. An insane dunmeri woman named Golena Sadri owned this mace. In his insanity she tried to kill the Nerevarine, forcing the Nerevarine to defend himself and eventually killed her.

-Stendarr's Hammer; Stendarr, God of Justice and Mercy, is the patron of righteous might and merciful forbearance. Rumor has it the God of Justice himself wielded this hammer. This is quickly believed, as none less than a god could ever hope to raise the thing, let alone swing it. Currently, it is sitting nicely on one of the podium of Mournhold Museum of Artifacts.

-King Orgnum's Coffer; King Orgnum's Coffer is a small-sized chest, ordinary in appearance. It is remarkably light, almost weightless, which offers clue to it's true magic. Once a day, the Coffer will create gold from naught. When King Orgnum himself possessed the Coffer, the supply within was limitless. Those who have found it since report that the Coffer eventually disappears after having dispersed enough gold to shame even the wealthiest of merchants. King Orgnum lost his Coffer during one of the marine battles with the Emperor of Tamriel. After the loss, Orgnum's island kingdom of Pyandonea ceased to be a world power - probably because the King could no longer afford as great a fleet as before. The Coffer washed ashore on Summurset Isle, where it was an elusive presence. However, the Eternal Champion uncovered the artifact somewhere in High Rock. No more record of this coffer after that.

-Amulet of Kings; Amulet of Kings is a soulgem of immense power. The legend says that in 1E266, Shezarr, the missing sibling god of the Eight Divines, transformed the dying Empress Alessia into the first of the Cyrodiilic saints, and bound her soul into the Amulet of Kings. The amulet becomes a heirloom of the Cyrodiilic Empire. It was Reman I, the founder of the second Empire, who instituted the rites of becoming Cyrodiilic Emperor, which included the ritual geas to the Amulet of Kings. With this ritual, each of the Emperors is soul-linked to the amulet. In the event of the Emperor’s demise would the Amulet warn the Elder Council.

-Barilzar's Mazed Band; The Nerevarine took the ring from the dead finger of Barilzar, an ancient lich. He gave the ring to Almalexia which in turn use it to open a gate to the the clockwork city of Sotha Sil. In her madness, she murdered Sotha Sil, took his guardian creatures and set them to attack Mournhold. The Nerevarine was lured as he believed that this was Sotha Sil doing. He was transported to the clockwork city. In the end, the Nerevarine had to face Lady Almalexia herself after he found out that Sotha Sil had already dead in his own clockwork chamber. Historians record that the Nerevarine was finally escaped from the clockwork city, no doubt by using the Mazed Band.

-Bitter Cup; Bitter Cup, an artifact sacred to Clavicus Vile. The water inside the cup when drinked by a person will raise his top attribute and lower the his worst attribute. The artifact was located in Ald Redaynia, guarded by a Skeleton War-Wizard. The Nerevarine in one of the Thieves Guild quests, had to procure the cup and then to give the cup to Eydis Fire-Eye. It is necessary to make her withdraw her support to the Fighters Guild Master, Sjoring Hard-Heart.

-Boots of Blinding Speed; Strange boots indeed. By equipping the boots, one can move with a great speed, but by equipping this boots also makes the person blind. A redguard rogue named Pemenie owned it. He rewarded the boots to the Nerevarine after he escorted her safely to Gnaar Mok.

-Dagger of Symmachus; This is the ceremonial dagger of General Symmachus, the former and first husband of Queen Barenziah. He died during the early years of Jagar Tharn’s reign. It is obvious that Tharn made him killed in a rebellion in Morrowind. The blade has ability to raise wielder’s endurance and the skill to use short blade. It also has ability to reflect the spell back to the caster. The dagger of Symmachus was given by King Hlaalu Helseth to the Nerevarine after he defeated Helseth’s champion, Karrod.

-Fearstruck; Fearstruck, a shield that was wielded by Lyrisius, an ancient hero who fought Akaviri slave traders. It was said that the shield was a gift from Daedra Prince Boethiah, however the enchantment and other special powers are not known. When Lyrisius’ army was defeated, he fled to the moors and encountered a dragon. The dragon melted the Fearstruck. It was utterly destroyed and no other reference to it has ever been found. Lyrisius himself used his wit and eventually managed to make the dragon destroyed the Akaviri army. In the end, Lyrisius was turned to a raven by Daedra Prince Boethiah, who praised him for ultimately destroying the army of Akavir.

-Flask of Lillandril; Circa 1E470, a group of Altmer of Lillandril discovered a magical flask. Upon learning that the flask had the marvelous property of being able to absorb magic of any persuasion, the founders realized their importance in the world and spread word of their discovery. They performed various favors for the Barons of Summerset Isle, keeping the magical powers of the Bosmer of Valenwood in check. Eventually the founders worried that bosmeri assassins may kill them and take the flask, so they left the Summerset Isle for the City of Daggerfall, in High Rock, where they hope to buy their safety from the Clan Direnni, to live in secret protected by the Direnni. While sailing from Summerset to High Rock they were shipwrecked on the coral reef along the southern coast of what is now Stros M’Kai. The founders were killed and the Flask of Lillandril was lost. In the end of Second Era, Cyrus the Redguard recovered the flask and use it to release his sister Iszara from the N’Gasta the Sload Necromancer and Daedra Prince Clavicus Vile. Clavicus Vile took the flask in the end.

-Gambolpuddy; The Nerevarine was asked by Tholer Saryoni in the Tribunal Temple’s "The Fourth Corner of the House of Troubles" quest. He had to go to the shrine to Malacath on Sheogorad, the shrine of Mehrunes Dagon in Ald Sotha, the shrine of Molag Bal in Bal Ur, and finally to find the Gambolpuddy in Ald Daedroth and donate it to Sheogorath's statue there while reciting Vivec's "Four Corners." Gambolpuddy itself was hidden under a pillow in the Ald Daedroth, Antechamber. It was on the possession of Ra'Gruzgob, an Orc who thinks that he is a Khajiit. Needless to say that Sheogorath’s blessing has touched the Orc. When wield, this glove will raise a half of the wielder's attributes and drain the the other half of the attributes.

-Kagrenac's Tools; These three artifacts perhaps the most powerful artifacts on Tamriel. Originally Keening (a short sword), Sunder (a hammer) and Wraithguard (a gauntlet) were created by the Kagrenac, High Priest and Magecrafter of the ancient Dwemer. He created the tools for tapping the divine power of the Heart of Lorkhan, to fuel the gigantic construct known as Numidium. The main purpose of the tools is to create or severe a link to the Heart of Lorkhan. With these tools, Almalexia, Sotha Sil and Vivec made a link between themselves and the Heart of Lorkhan, resulted of their godhood. By invoking the power of these tools as well, the Dwemer race vanished from the face of Tamriel. The enchantments of the artifacts fortify the vital statistics of the wielder in tremendous amount. Keening and Sunder must be worn with Wraithguard to negate the negative effects of the artifacts. Wraithguard itself has no negative effect on the wielder. The tapping of the Heart of Lorkhan was considered as blasphemy by the Chimer, and the new god, Numidium, if it was really built might be considered as a great threat to the kingdom of Chimer. Therefore the peace between Chimer and Dwemer broke and resulted the War of Red Mountain. Nerevar with his band attacked the Dwemer stronghold of Vvardenfell on the top of Red Mountain (now known as Dagoth Ur). They confronted Kagrenac and Dumac, the Dwemer King. In the desperate moment, Kagrenac used the tools on the Heart of Lorkhan and this desperate action resulted the “Disappearance of Dwemerâ€Â￾. The whole race of Dwemer vanished. The three artifacts later on were kept and studied by Sotha Sil. Years after a long research he found a way to use the artifacts to tap the power of Heart of Lorkhan to make the surviving Chimer tribunes as gods. Almalexia, Vivec and Sotha Sil himself used the artifacts in the depth of the Red Mountain and made themselves gods. In 3E417, the Tribunal lose Keening and Sunder to Dagoth Ur, while the Wraithguard was kept safely by Vivec. Later on, the Nerevarine managed to recover Keening and Sunder, and with Wraithguard from Vivec he destroyed Dagoth Ur, unfortunately with this action he severed the connection of the Tribunal to the heart, resulted of their undoing of godhood.

-Mace of Aevar Stone-Singer; The Mace of Mace of Aevar Stone-Singer is precious to the Nordic tribe of Skaal. It was the legendary mace of Aevar Stone-Singer, who retrieved the Gifts of the All-Maker (the Oceans and the Earth, the Trees, the Beasts, and the Sun, and the Winds) after Greedy Man stole them. It is a heavy mace created from Stahlrim material, and when it hit, cold damage is released to the target. The damage produced from the mace itself is second to none, and with the cold enchantment, makes the weapon a devastated one. In Solstheim, to gain trust from the Skaal tribe, the Nerevarine had to perform the “Ritual of the Giftsâ€Â￾, where he had to visit and finish the quest of seven standing stones (the Water Stone, the Earth Stone, the Tree Stone, the Beast Stone, the Sun Stone, and the Wind Stone). After he finished the ritual, Korst Wind-Eye, the shaman of the Skaal tribe, gave the mace to the Nerevarine.

-Moon-and-Star; The enchanted ring called Moon-and-Star -- or One-Clan-Under-Moon-and-Star, as the Ashlanders call it -- was forged for the hero Nerevar by one of the Dwemer Sorcerer-Priest Kagrenac's smiths, and blessed by the Daedra Lord Azura. The ring gave Nerevar supernatural powers of persuasion and indisputable proof of identity, since any other who tried to wear the ring would be killed instantly. Nerevar the great hero of Chimer used this dwemer-gift ring to unite the various faction of Chimer, and with Dumac, the Dwemer King, he founded Resdayn. After his death, the ring was hidden in the Cave of Incarnate. It is said that only Nerevar himself or his incarnate, the Nerevarine that can take and wield the ring. And as prophesied, the Nerevarine was able to take the ring and use it to legitimate himself as Nerevarine and Hortator.

-Robe of the Lich; Information is scarce at best when it comes to this artifact. Some have said it was pulled from a lich when it was defeated; others say it was developed by an evil mage who wanted the power of a lich without the.... drawbacks. Either way, it is a powerful item indeed. The Nerevarine recovered this Robe of Lich from the old Mournhold. He destroyed an ancient lich named Gedna Relvel. He is believed to be the source of the Crimson Plague in Mournhold. Initially, the Nerevarine accidentally released Gedna Relvel from his tomb. He had to come down into Relvel's tomb again to face the lich. After the battle, the Nerevarine recovered the Robe of Lich from the dead body of Gedna Relvel.

Edit: This is what I could find about the staff of chaos. Thanks for saying the staff of chaos was missing. I will keep searching for new artifacts, and more information.

Edit: Added the BiPolar Blade, Stendarrs Hammer and the Mace of Slurring. Edited the bow of shadows and the boots of the apostle.

Edit: Added King Orgnum's coffer

Edit: Major update.

Edit as of 20-05-2006: Changed the list to show wich artifacts are in Oblivion. No new artifacts added yet.

BTW I know it's only an easter egg but don't forget Bluebrand/Eltonbrand, that stupidly powerful version of Goldbrand. :twisted:

Wasn't that broken up again after Arena? I mean it'd be pretty stupid of the Emperor to just leave it lying around.

Made it a Sticky Kasan. I suppose you would be editing the list as you see fit. I will clean out the posts that are not needed after you have updated the list with their suggestions. Inform me when you have done so.

Good but maybe one more color code if you can do it, which ones are in other games but not in Morrowind, as they probably already have some pictures or art, and some of them are merely mentioned in lore.

Is this better Túrelio? I have updated the list to include Arena and some new artfacts. I will continue my search to more artifacts, and artifacts that were in daggerfall.

Now we have this list, are we going to do something with it. I created it in the first place for reference for people adding the artifacts to the project. There are so many artifacts to be made. Hope some people start making them, because I'm a collector of rare stuff (in-game) and love unique items. They really add something. And the story's bethesda made up about them only make em sweeter.

Cool, but I know the names of a lot of Daedra Lords, ad I never heard of Gaviss? Did you mean a daedra lord as Sheograth and Azura, or did you meant something else?

Oh yeah, about the artifact, I am willing to add it, but what about the lore on this item? I've never heard of it before. And any other artifacts are welcomed here.

I think you forgot a rather important one from Battlespire:

The Sword of Moon Reiver

The Sword of Moon Reiver is a great sword that, as far as anyone can tell, is the only weapon that can destroy the avatar of a Daedra Prince on Mundus. Armed with it, the Armor of the Savior's Hide, and Mehrunes Dagon's true name, the hero of the Battlespire incident was able to banish Mehrunes Dagon from the Battlespire, destroying the arch-traitor Jagar Tharn's connection with the Daedra Prince.

Its current location is unknown.

According to the UESP, it was Reiver. I can't install the game right now because it doesn't work on XP.

Edit: Hmmm... according to Bethesda's site, it's the "Broadsword of the Moon River". Yes, "river". Man, I wish I could get the game to work right now...

What's the policy on Bethesda's lore contradicting itself?

I have a comment on the list of artifacts:
The Staff of Chaos was destroyed after the events of Arena. Even the description of it you used says so!
In that very moment, all the stolen power of the staff was released with the death of Jagar Tharn. The released power destroyed the staff and opened the prison dimension of Uriel Septim VII, releasing the Emperor.

Do you know where I can find a timeline describing which eras all of the TES games were set in? I have looked on TIL to no avail. Also helpful would be Redguard and Battlespire eras.

Its in the History of Tamriel section.
Redguard was 2E864
Battlespire was sometime from 3E389-3E399. The exact date is unknown.

And what exactly do you mean with this? Is there a problem with the list?

Well, by my understanding, this is supposed to be a list of artifacts that exist at the time Morrowind takes place, and the Staff of Chaos doesn't exist anymore at this time, as it was destroyed. Or is this supposed to be a list of all artifacts that ever existed?

You didn't read it at all, did you? Because if you did, you see that I gave the text different colors. And now, take a look at this.
Red=In Lore, not in a TES game
Blue=In Daggerfall
Brown=In Morrowind, but not complete (such as auriel's shield, wich lacks enchantment)
Green=In Arena
Black=In Morrowind
Don't correct me if you don't know were you are talking about.

This is a list of all the artifacts that existed in the Elder Scrolls universe.

What about new artifacts that have been created by TR (nothing as powerful as the other ones I would hope) for the mainland? Should we make a list here?

I add them to this list, but I have no knowledge of unique artifacts with a background story made by TR. If someone wants an artifact added, PM me. Or post in this thread.

I was under the impression that Mackkan's Hammer and Bane of Daedra were just other names for Scourge.

Well, Kasan, hermit gave me the go ahead to create the 'Belt of Randagulf' for a cell I am doing for him. It isn't quite as powerful as its other set items, and I don't have any lore on it at the moment. Shall we just assume it was Randagulf's belt, and was lost about the same time as the fists?

Well, Randagulf's fists are really his fists... I can't imagine his belt being one of his limps. :P Maybe just a belt he used? I can imagine someone like him having powerful items.

I know for certain that Mackkan's Hammer is not an other name for Scourge. Mackkan had more weapons, not only Scourge. ;)

Also, it was stated on TIL (not sure where) that both are artifacts, but that nothing was know about both of them. But now I come to think of it, Bane of Daedra 'could' be an other name for Scourge.

Yes, it is just a belt he used. And I think it only has a CE Fortify Intelligence 15pts, so it won't be unbalancing. The gauntlets offer more in terms of pure statistics.

Are you sure? Because in The Legendary Scourge, which I linked to, Scourge is called the mallet of Mackkan. Also, why would it mention Scourge, then something else, then Scourge again?
