Dead man's note (needs grammar check)

Post by Stalker »

That damn, "invent-a-name" ! He lurked me into this tomb promissing lots of treasures. Yes, there's a fe pricy things in my loot bag but do I need them now, here, locked in this room with only one bottle of water and a few chunks of scuttle ? "Invent-a-name" activated some mechanism which locked the grate behind me and now I'm locked here with only spirit to laught at my stupidity. I wonder how my "wolf-name" will survive ? I hope he will find a way to escape and, maybe, even call for help. Oh "nordic-god-name" don't let him die !

The guy's a Nord (actually a skeleton of a dead Nord :) ) found in Ancestral tomb. His wolf is lying dead nearby. I would be very greatful if somebody will think of a Nord's and wolf's name.

That damn (I would use “damnedâ€Â￾) Dorreck! He lurked (lured) me into this tomb promising (promising) lots of treasures (perhaps use “a lot of treasureâ€Â￾ or “lots of treasureâ€Â￾). Yes, there's a fe (few) pricy things in my loot bag but do I need them now, here, locked in this room with only one bottle of water and a few chunks of scuttle? Dorreck activated some mechanism which locked the grate behind me and now I'm locked (try “stuckâ€Â￾ instead of repeating “lockedâ€Â￾) here with only spirit (not sure what you mean here but I recommend using “…the spirits…â€Â￾) to laught (laugh) at my stupidity. I wonder how my Uken will survive? (this is a statement not a question. Please remove the “?â€Â￾ and perhaps you should explain a little more about Uken as the reader will not know who or what you are talking about) I hope he will find a way to escape and, (no comma needed) maybe, (no comma needed) even call for help. (a wolf calling for help is kind of strange even if possible. I would consider changing the sentence to reflect the idea that someone would sense something amiss if Uken was without his master and may go looking for him. Even the idea of Uken leading someone to him is more realistic than the wolf calling for help)Oh "nordic-god-name"( You’ll have to put this name in yourself), don't let him die !

The guy's a Nord (actually a skeleton of a dead Nord ) found in Ancestral tomb. His wolf is lying dead nearby. I would be very greatful (grateful…just kidding) if somebody will think of a Nord's and wolf's name.

My suggestions from Enlil's...

That damned (IMO used 'accursed' instead of 'damned' as the former seems to fit into TES world better) Dorreck! He lured me into this tomb promising a lot of treasure. (I don't really like this bit either. Maybe something along the lines of 'enough treasure blah blah blah') Yes, there's a few pricy (expensive / dear / costly) things in my loot bag but do I need them now, here, locked in this room (A bit of a mouhtful IMO. Maybe get rid of 'here,') with only one bottle of water and a few chunks (pieces / portions) of scuttle. Dorreck activated some mechanism which locked the grate behind me and now I'm stuck (trapped?) here with only the spirit to laugh at my stupidity. I wonder how my (in here add 'wolf' or something) Uken will survive. I hope he will find a way to escape and maybe even get help. Oh "nordic-god-name" (Try a Nordic hero'god. The only one I know of is Talos (Tiber Septim) but checking the IL should bring up a couple of others; or alternatively use one of the Divines), don't let him die!

Does it really need good grammar? If this person is as gormless as one would expect someone who got lured into that situation would be, I would expect him to be too literate either.

Original;

With my editing;

That damned Dorrick! He lured me into this cursed tomb promissing wealth and fame. Yes, there are a few pricy items in my bag, but do I need them now, here, locked in this room with only a bottle of water, and several portions of scuttle? No. And I doubt I ever will. Dorrick activated an ancient mechanism which locked the grate behind me,and now, I am trapped. I wonder with all my heart that my precious wolf Uken has faired. I hope he has found a means of escape, and maybe, lead help to me. Oh, Tsun*, don't let him die!

Hope i didnt edit it *too* much from your original. :)
