Morrowind Tools (Woodworking and Stoneworking)
Inspired by the discussion on creating your own city in-game where I suggested that there should be a quarry/stonemason and logging operation/sawmill. I did these last night while attempting to pull an all-nighter for the new Morrowind, but ended up falling asleep after all.
What I've got:
Unfinished Stone Block
Finished Stone Block
Mallet and Chisel
Unfinished Plank
Finished Plank
Shoulder Plane
Sawdust
Stone dust

Since everything in Morrowind is made out of wood or stone, but you never, ever see where it comes from, I thought it would be cool if people could add quarries or sawmills into their claims. All of the material has to come from somewhere!
I have a few ideas of how this could work. Make a rock and a tree into creatures with no attack and very high health, then have a few NPCs set to constantly "battle" them with woodcutting axes and miner's picks. That way, it will look like they are mining/felling trees. I don't know if that could work, but it would really add life and some realism to the game.
Any suggestions for more tools are welcome.

I'm thinking about building an open-air Stonemason's workshop (right beside the quarry, where all the stone will be taken in it's rough form and then smoothed out) and an open-air woodworker's workshop, where felled trees will be cut and smoothed into planks. I just need a good looking design and should they be Imperial, or Dunmer?

Oh Stumpy, I do believe you've given me an idea for a quest for my purposed quest series (do wish someone would tell me what they think of it). Thanks!
Eyeball, not to be bloody minded or anything, but I wonder if those chunks of stone could be used as a very weak blunt weapon. Attack a quary worker (no idea why you'd do that) and you could find yourself being bludgened over the head with an unfinshed stone block.

In the 550's Byzantine Generals Narses and Liberius were winning battles into their 80's. Retirement programs, though no longer including raping and pillaging, have clearly improved since.

The "blood" of the 'Skeleton' is slightly rock/tree coloured, because it's grey/brown, so it could easily work. My idea was to have 2 tree enemies. One would be a full tree in the default position, and the second would be felled, laying on it's side, and the loggers would be "attacking" the big branches. The end result would look something like the logs in the picture below.

I've added an adze, sawhorsies, log statics, a potter's wheel with unfinished Redware pot (it's similar to a potter's wheel I used a few years ago, you sit at it, push the bottom with your feet and it goes around in circles!) and two saws. I'm not sure what other tools I need for this, so I was going to start making medicine statics. If anyone has any other ideas for tools (source images a bonus!) just PM me or post here.
Oh, I also had an idea of having a guar hitched up to pull the logs and stones, but it wouldn't be animated, just sitting there looking useful.
WritingWraith: I can see you walking into a quarry and attacking one of the workers, and then having them all lift these huge chunks of stone over their heads to toss at you! Hehe, or picking up a felled tree and using it like a club.
Is there any "holding" position that would work with chunks of stone or planks of wood?

Well, you could use a short sword anim for the rocks, I think...
these are awesome. Say, could you pick up one of those saws and use it as a kind of weapon? Maybe you can only fell the trees if you have a saw or logging-axe equipped? Ooh.
Hey, wait a minute! IDEA ALERT! Dweedoodweedoo!
If the quest to create your own city in-game gets the go-ahead, one of the quests on the way to city-age could be to chop down all the trees in the building area! Awesome. My spidey-senses are tingling already.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

Well the idea behind most of this is that if the Create-A-City quest gets the go-ahead, then the Quarries/Logging would be part of the quest, and you'd need to bring wood and stone to the site from these areas. But even if the quest is never approved, I still think that there needs to be stone- and wood-working on the mainland, just to show where some of the building material comes from. Because they can't import all of that stone and wood from other provinces.

I didn't realize how big those stone blocks really were before that second picture (no real perspective in the first one)! It would be pretty riddiculous to have those used as bludgens, but maybe a smaller, less regular version could be made about twice the size of a fist for a weak bludgen instead. That would be about right for a stone chip from one of those blocks.
And a large tree branch could do a little damage too.

...and if the tree had spines...ouch.
Couldn't there also be sharp pieces of rock or a mineral...or something like elastic glass?
