Seacrab revisited

I'll be putting up a new edition of Vorrheis' seacrab today. It still needs a crabmeat ingredient and icon. Might be cute to have a large crab pincer container and a huge crabshell container. The pincer would contain crabmeat (or a special spoiled crabmeat ingredient) and the crabshell would contain a raw material for armor. - that last still needs more development. I'm thinking that perhaps someone would use the crabshell textures to make a chitin-strength armor?

Just another thought - could we make a script for the armorers, or an armor craftsman, where the Player could take a crabshell (or certain other ingredients like Strider shell, etc.) and pay to have armor made?

I think we must have special organic armor armorers. They'll make you custom armor from chitin etc. Plus we could include Durzog Hide Armor into TR. It looked really good and already had Durzog Hide ingredient. It'll fit really good. Plus the armor itself will be unique and not unbalanced.

Yea, as soon as you uploead the new crab, I'll make ya a new set of crab armor. Though since my max skills such, for now it'll be a reskin of a few diff. types of armor. Is that ok? Or are you going to let someone better than me do it? (i really wanna make something for TR, i havent madea nything yet for it, but by no means am i not experienced in mod making)

Actually, we really prefer new meshes. No offense. Maybe you could hook up with a modeler, like vorrheis, and make textures for them?

Did the "Bonemold Artisans" thread that vorrheis made get deleted when the mods 'cleaned' the forums? Maybe somebody else can find it... it had all the info with regard to making new armors from Vorrheis's creatures.

sorry.. i wasn't bashing you.... i put the word cleaned in single quotes because the term is used loosely. what is it with this place today.. everything i read makes me mad.

NOW you can all test your skills on the Sea crab. Just don't come whining to me if he kills you. :lol: This is a genuine level 20 opponent. As noted above it still needs an ingredient or two, and I'm sure the core (Hermit - - Majra?) will deal with the crab armor idea in good time. For now, I'm interested in the strength of attack, the animations and the sounds.

Maybe it's just me, but the latest version seems to be missing the texture TR_VO_crab_claw.dds. I went to make a container out of the claw and realized that there was no texture for it.

I'll make the containers and ingredients for both, but what do you want the ingredients to look like?

Nope - not just you. I missed a texture. There ya go.

Crab meat? Kind of an off-white, elongated blob with small red lines for veins? The spoiled version might then be reddish-brown. They should be small enough to fit on a plate. The ingredient for armor would probably be a thin, jagged piece of shell.

Then I'll make a leveled list so the Player would get any of the three randomly.

Grey could you somehow make him walk on the seabed and not just "swim" ?

Not sure - right now I have him both swim and walk so he can chase the Player onto the shore (no escape in hot pursuit!) I'll try just giving him the walk ability and see what he does in water. It's difficult to make something amphibious in the CS.
