need something better...

i need a good sound recording/editing program better than the one i have now (audacity), and im hoping that one of you could help.

heres the deal

Is there anything better than audacity that i can get free? or is audacity the best there is when it comes to freeware?

"Goldwave" has a good trial version.

i'll google it, and download the trial... bu what kind of trial is it? is it a 'limited time, full functionality' trial, or a 'unlimited time, limited functions' demo?
