A possibility for a Restoration or Mysticism skill-up book.
I wrote this originally for use in another roleplay setting, and so I plugged in location names and geographical details as best I could to match TES lore. They probably still need editing. Also, the Editor's note is written to give the story more context (that was already implied in the roleplay setting), but it might not be needed. It’s supposed to sound a little fanboy-ish, perhaps in response to the Indoril’s poor reputation for healing an Argonian.

"There are many memories I prefer not to recall."
"Oh, come on! It was actually pretty funny, looking back on it."
Haivin and the Mountain of the Gods Part II A feast for two Ravens
The air felt so unnervingly cold… almost damaging to his essence. His legs would barely move when trying to step forwards, through the thick and heavy fog that encircled him.
He knew that he had to keep moving, he had to.
Strange sounds started appearing all around him, piercing through the fog, none of these he could specify.
Purity, as we Altmer understand it, is often object to incoherent interpretation. Even some Altmer, particularly those of the lower castes, are not immune to it, as they eschew anything not manufactured or thought about on the Altmeri Isles as a symptom of inherent, contagious decay
Indoril Book of Passing Through the Doors of the Horizon
All are destined to die but the acceptable ways are few. The Great House of Indoril has always and will always uphold the standards of a good death. They are recorded here.
FIRE. The Indoril of Khalaan (which the foreign Legions called ”Ebonheart”, now ”Old Ebonheart”) bathed in holy oils and walked into great fires. The wind carried their ashes to Necrom, which tells us that they died honorably.
