Welcome to the Tamriel Rebuilt forums! If you're new here, say a little about yourself. You can say as much or as little as you like, such as your age, why you joined the forums, why you love Morrowind, or whatever else you'd like to share.
I'll start off our new thread:
Hi everyone, I'm Kaziem. I joined Tamriel Rebuilt because I've always been interested in the mod, but never quite thought of joining. In the last year or two, I've gotten more interested in Morrowind again, so I thought this would be a great way to offer my modding skills and have fun. I used to work on the Sheogorad: Forsaken Isles mod for Oblivion, until that got folded into Project Vvardenfell and Skyrim came out.
I like making artwork, and I also work on textures, organization, and maybe some interiors when those open up. Morrowind is probably my favorite game of all time, but I also love Starcraft, Mechwarrior, and Battlezone. Probably the most important fact about me is that I have a cat named Max. He's a cat, it's very cute.

You basically made this thread for me. Now I’m all embarrassed.
HELLO! I’m Perfecto Oviedo. I am IRL friends with Kaziem, and I was honored to provide the voiceover for your 15.12 release video. I studied classical voice in college, and was happy to apply that towards your project.
I was encouraged to introduce myself. So here I am. I would be happy to continue to supply your project with my svelt, dulcet tones (I don’t know if those two words work together in a sentence, but it sounds sexy), and would love to perhaps voice some narrations or characters should the need arise down the line.
I don’t know how often I’ll be around on the forums, IRL-stuff being what it is, but I’ll try to poke around from time to time, and Kaziem can always kick me to get my attention.
I also enjoy MechWarrior and cats.
EDIT: “Great House Fliggerty” was exceedingly difficultt to pronounce, for some reason.

Yay, an introduction thread! I feel I need this to ask awkward questions and such.
Hi, I’m Aramithius. I’ve been playing Morrowind on and off since 2004, and have loved this project from afar for ages (since the release of Map 2, I think?). I also frequent the /r/teslore reddit and the Bethesda forums, ever and anon.
I’ve started playing Morrowind again recently, and caught Zhakaron’s interview with the TR editorial team. I have very little (read: practically nothing) in the way of modding experience, but would love to be a quest writer. I’m particularly interested in what being a member of the Temple and House Dres would be like (not necessarily at once), so that’s where I’d like to start.
My main ideas at this stage are fleshing out the factions at the lower levels. I had the idea that for Dres anyone would have to work their way in until they found enough information out about the House that they would be accepted in Dres society. As Dres also feels like a very honour/face-based society, as an outlander they can do things that full House members can’t. So it would be things like smuggling goods around for a particular member, being an intermediary for some less savoury characters, screwing over your patron’s enemies and being a source of plausible deniablilty (“it wasn’t me, it was the filthy outlander!”), after a few getting shown a few of the House rituals so that you’d be accepted into House gatherings and could earn honour either by tales of your exploits, shows of strength and/or displays of loyalty to the house or your patron. Getting higher up would then involve the political machinations of the House, which would then require choosing a clan to go with. If it’s not already settled, this would require choosing which clan and then having customised quests depending on their nature. I imagine quests up to this point would be fairly generic in nature, as I imagine Dres would mostly see outlanders in the same way – as tools or things to be ignored.
In terms of the temple, I see this mostly as playing politics with the Great Houses and trying to keep the Temple “pure” from House influence. Away from the sacred area of Vvardenfel, I imagine that things are a bit more procedural in the mainland, with quests around securing passage for pilgrims to and from various sites, management of holy artefacts (ie trying to get them away from the other Houses), overseeing burials (and their mishaps!) etc.
Before I start on anything, is there somewhere where can we see what quests have already been completed, so that I’m not redoing/conflicting with stuff that’s already been done? I’m happy to get up to my elbows in Construction Kit to find out, but if there’s a quicker way (and particularly for stuff that’s not been released yet) that would be great. And beyond that, is it just post up quest dialogue and descriptions to see what people think?

Hi Perfecto Oviedo! Great work on the last video, and I hope to hear you again in the next one.
And hi Aramithius, it’s good to see someone interested in the Temple, as it gets far less attention than it deserves. As far as the Dres are concerned, the best place to start is to read this page, if you haven’t already. For quest writing, I think the best approach is to just post a small selection of quest ideas n Quests & Dialogue – just short summaries to start with – and then we’ll provide feedback and go from there.

CUE THE TRUMPETS
I have truly arrived. I know... I know... You're all very excited to finally meet me.
I'm sure you've heard it all before but I have been lurking around for a long time... yada, yada, yada... and I've been there and done that... yada, yada, yada... and I'm all wonderful and perfect... yada, yada, yada...
My name is Kate the Bionic Uterus (ktbu) but you can call me Kate or She-Ra Princess of Power
Just remember this one rule and we'll get along purrrfectly: 1) No disagreeing with me when I am right. Which is always.
RELAX... relax... I'm a professional and I do this for fun <3
Currently I am working on a new race mod, I recently replaced some trees in TR and I am always messing around with mgeXE shaders.
See ya around dem boards

Sounds great, Kate. If you see something you can improve on, go for it, we’d love to have our assets updated.

I’m not sure if “I” can do everything but nevertheless I am making a list. For example the other day I was in the Fire Library and I noticed that the bricks were real old… they were put on the list. I also noticed some weird looking plants in Necrom and it made the list. It is my firts time playing TR after years of watching the project so I have lots to see before anything else gets done. I’ll tackle the easy stuff first as I go along or stuff that just bugs me so much that I am compelled to fix it right away… like the trees. The next thing that is getting done right away is the ground textures. Here is a test picture of a grass ground texture I am testing.

That sounds interesting! What you can do is head over to Asset Development in the forums and make yourself a thread there. Then, start posting your updates and test things in that thread. That way everything will be all in one spot.

Oh look, I finally found the Introductions thread! XD My name is Ana, I’m 27 and first played Morrowind when I was in high school more than 10 years ago. I dabbled a bit in modding back then although everything I made was purely personal and probably wouldn’t have been useful to anyone else. I did quite a bit of editing of dialogue for the main game and mods, simply because typos and errors bugged me to no end lol! I spent a lot of time reading in-game books and diving into the lore. After that, I played Oblivion and Skyrim, but the experience was never as in-depth and unique as Morrowind, so I’ve come back to it several times over the years. I attempted to play some of the older games, but the gameplay wasn’t to my liking.
I’ve done a lot of things over the years that helped me acquire skills that I think would be beneficial to this project. First and foremost, I’m a writer, and I take special care to make sure my dialogue sounds natural, so hopefully I can be of some use with quests, general dialogue, or even books. I have a little experience with coding of a few different types. I’ve been using Photoshop since I was a kid, so I’m pretty good at that. I have a tablet as well but I prefer to draw traditionally. For the past couple years, I’ve been modding for The Sims, and I learned how to mess with meshes via Blender. I don't have quite enough skill to be able to make good-looking meshes from scratch, but at least I can reduce polys and make UV maps. Other than that, I’m probably not the most knowledgeable about the lore, but I have a deep interest in it, particularly cultural and mythological aspects of the mer and beast races. Ashlanders and Khajiit are my favorite.
As you can see, I’m sort of a jack-of-all-trades but master of none type, so I’ll probably stick to concepts and discussion for now. If anyone has anything they need a bit of help with, I'd love to help! I’m just not quite confident enough to take on a project of my own yet. But hopefully that will change eventually! Even if it doesn’t, I’m glad to be here and watch
the process of mod creation on this scale. :D2015-12-12 23:47

Hello! We definitely have need of people to write quests, and help flesh them out. Jacks-of-all-trades are great too, especially writers. And, we could use concept art and mesh updates as well, if you see something that could be improved, feel free to havea go at improving it.

Hello there, I am DarkWarrior (people have called me simply Dark in the past). Long story short, I am currently finishing up my Sr. design project in school and will be graduating soon. I’ve also fired up Morrowind for the first time in a long while. I’m a former modder for Oblivion from back in the day.
I’m tickled to see that Tamriel Rebuilt is still around. I’m assuming development is still active on this mod? If so, I may be interested in helping. I’ve noticed there’s a lot of interior work needing to be done and there’s a lot of npc’s needing to be placed. If this is true I may fire up the CS and make a showcase interior to prove myself.
I’m also a C/C++ developer professionally, and may later be interested in helping with some scripting.

Hi! We don’t actually have any interiors up for claiming at the moment, unfortunately. We could, however, certainly use more reviewers to look over existing interiors for errors and get them ready for merging.

Ok, any chance that you can direct in a direction to get started?

Oops, I should have been clearer: if you’re interested in becoming a reviewer, the first step is to make an interior showcase. Once it’s been approved, just contact Seneca37.
As far as NPCs are concerned, we currently handle dialogue on the forums, here. (There are no dialogue threads there at the moment, though, as we’ve fairly recently moved from our old forums). Feel free to start a thread there if you’ve got dialogue ideas. At the moment we do not handle placing NPCs as individual claims.
Scripting knowledge is always welcome, but by nature is handled on commission, so unfortunately there’s probably not too much work there either at the moment.

Hello, my name is Drakevarg, or Drake for short. I had an account a few years ago on the old forums going by the handle “Cocytus,” but drifted away as my life became preoccupied with other matters. I’m getting back into Morrowind modding with my own project in mind, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to poke my head back in here. Admittedly it’s for entirely selfish reasons – I don’t have the time to contribute to the TR project myself – but I thought it’d be nice from an educational standpoint to keep an eye on how development is handled, and maybe get the occasional kernal of advice from such a respectable group of modding veterans.
That said, I might volunteer on occasion, for practice’s sake and to make my presence here a bit less useless. A broad array of experiences is hardly something to avoid.

Welcome back! Observing (and naturally contributing) to TR has certainly taught me a lot. I just hope the lessons you take away from it will be of the what to do variety rather than the what not to do variety, as historically there has been a lot of the latter.

Hey, either works! Actually on that note, I did observe while doing a flyover of the Telvannis area the other day, “gosh, there sure are a LOT of banana-shaped rocks around here!” I’m kinda glad the more recent regions have had a more natural-looking landscape.

Hi guys, I am Thalar or just Thal (or Thalmor if u want). I love drawing since I was 7 years old. I dont have any gallery, but I try to share with you some of my imagined concept arts such as House Dres Council Member or just a themed scene, for example a pilgrim sitting on rock. I also write short stories about everything. I like it, it is more interesting than playing games (Morrowind and RPGs are exception :P).
Anyway, I would be grateful to correct me if I will do anything wrong. Also, Can you show me directions to where share my drawings here? I would like to join the project, but I think I will also create a game with you by sharing my arts on forum simply.
Hope to have got fun time with u people!
I was made by fire, so fire shall I spread.

Hi all, I’m FifthEstate. Browsing through this forum has been immensely gratifying for me, it’s clear there is a variety of ages and lifestyles drawn to this wonderful game (and the TR Project). That’s foreign to me, as most people in talk to IRL give me an odd look when I tell them my favorite game is an RPG from 2002. It’s very exciting prospect to be part of this community.
This will be the first TES related forum I’ve made an account on, barring a few contributions to /r/teslore’s immense Apogrypha of fan-made content. I’ve tossed the idea of joining TR for months now, but when I heard the TR team’s callout for quest writers during Zhakaron interview, I decided it was time. IRL I’m studying a writing concentration at an American university, so this would be a valuable opportunity for me to flex my creative thinking muscles. If you still need public relations help I’m happy to lend a hand; I have experience writing articles, managing social media, and broadcasting. I don’t have modding experience, although I download the Steam patch for the Creation Kit today along with a modding manual I’ll probably skim through in my free time. I assume it’d be best for everyone I stick to words, at least for the time.
I’ll start brainstorming some Dres/Temple content while I get a feel for the forums. Last note: Thank you all for making such an amazing addition to the game. I’ve spent a lot of time on the mainland, you’ve all done some amazing work.

Thank you for the encouraging words, 10Kaziem! I didn’t see a PR dedicated thread, but I’m willing to make the time to attend one of the Discord/Skype meetings or chat on the IRC channel about what the current PR operation is and how I could possibly get involved.
In the meantime, I’ll start generating a couple ideas for the Quest & Dialogue forum. Are there any specific locations/factions/individuals that the team is currently focused on at the moment?

That is a good question. Probably Hlaalu lands? The others are more knowledgeable about questing than I am. This weekend we may well be having a meeting and that would be a great time to talk PR.

As far as I know, we’re still looking for some quests for the Thirr River Region, which has primarily Indoril and some Hlaalu and Imperial influences. We are also starting the planning for the Deshaan Plains, a Dres dominated area.

Hi peoples !
I am Thomas, currently 17 Years Old , live in The Netherlands.
What drew me to the project : When I was a little kid, I absolutely loved fantasy, always dreaming about being the Knight in the shining armor, the anti-hero or the evil goblin, slaying dragons in my wake and collecting the most precious artififacts from dungeons, anyhow when I was about 13, I could finally afford a Xbox 360, a Xbox 360 with a digital copy ofSkyrim, I booted it up, when I entered the world of Tamriel I shedded a tear , it was absolutely stunning.
A few months later (and playing a helluva lot of Skyrim), I decided to buy Oblivion which I loved as well, but that didn't really satisfy me to the core, I wanted the stories behind the world of Tamriel, and so I did, I played like, at least 500 hours of Skyrim (probably a LOT more though) and at least 200 in Oblivion and of course read a bunch of lore.
Then I played Morrowind, at first I was sort of avoiding it, I heard people say it wasn't just difficult but hard (which is justified though, getting killed by mudcrabs...) and that it had outdated mechanics and wasn't very playable, a few months back I have "completed” the main story of Morrowind and played ever since.
I already knew about Tamriel Rebuilt, but until a few days ago I hadn't decided if I would be a active member for such a ambitious mod, I am glad I did.
As I like to create all kinds of things, I like to contribute in anyway possible, however I have little to none Creation Kit experience and as I got here not so long ago I missed a lot of the already established background, with which you bring The Mainland of Morrowind to life. I already contributed a little bit of concept art and I try to be as active on the Forums as possible, I also would like to create quests and lore entries, but maybe I should save that for the next region .
If you have any questions let me know !
Kind Regards,
Thomas

Hey guys !
For those who didn’t meet me yet on discord, my name is Maelan. I’m a 21 years old graphic designer from Paris (vive la baguette !). I can do all sorts of tasks for you guys, like graphic stuff (logo editing, a bit of web design and motion design), concept art, and maybe modelling (3dsMax). I have to say I have like no experience at all with CS. I tried doing something by following tutorials, but I found it so inconvenient so I rage quit… Maybe I will develop this skill later, it could help !
I’ve been playing MW for more than 5 years now, and that’s definitely one of my favourite game ever, just as its universe, which is one of the richest and most original world I’ve never seen. Also I’ve been following your project for 3 years, as a remote fan. I’m really happy to finally be part of your project !
So finally, thank you for this wonderful project ! I hope I could help to my level, and I’m looking forward to knowing more about each one of you !
Salut !
