So a thought just occured to me, someone please explain to me how this works. My birthday is 5/20/90 so I'm 25 years old. But what if I was born prematurely by like two months? What if I was conceived the beginning of November and then seven months later I'm born, BUT! Someone conceived in October of that same year but was born the normal 9 months later would be born sometime in July. Am I really older than that other person by two months even though they've existed longer than I have?

That is why some cultures count being in the womb as part of your life time. I think Chinese culture counts it as your first year, for instance.

I have a friend who delivered her baby by about three months early. She said she counts the baby's age by when her daughter was actually born, only takes the "actual" due date into account for things like developmental health markers. Does that help answer your question?

Also consider that projected due dates generally go by the last known menstrual cycle of the mother, but women have irregular cycles all the time, so all it is is an estimate. It can easily be off by a few weeks in either direction.

No, puberty is the update patch that you get that totally changes the game from what it was before, which is involuntary.
