A poor hlaalu house resided in by a pair of siblings and a mages guild associate they rent out the spare room to.

Exterior shell referenced was hlaalu 16.

This is my first time touching the CS in years and I would consider myself rusty to the point of essentially starting over, I'm not confident in my fine item placement but wanted to submit now just to get feedback going. Cleaned using TESAME, cellname is same as filename!

Looking forward to the feedback.

Quick review:

Name: TR_salmonroll_showcase
Clean: No, wooden stuff should be cleaned away.
Lighting: Sunlight is too high. Should be around 10-20. The rest is ok, but with ambient try to stick to brown and orange hues for Hlaalu ints.
light_de_lantern_05 on the crates – its radius is too large. Small interiors should have lights in the range of 64-177. Replace this one with a dimmer variant.
Fits exterior: Sticks out of the shell a bit, but it’s acceptable. Matches Hlaalu 16.
Pathgrid: Nodes under a keg, under the bookshelf nearby, and near the fireplace will make NPCs stuck there. Every node and yellow line shouldn’t touch solid objects.
Northmarker: Present, correct.
Illegal to sleep here: Yes, correct.
Floaters (items do not touch the surface underneath them):

  • misc_com_wood_knife – you should always make its tip touch the surface. It should be heavier than the handle.
  • T_Com_Var_Knife_01 – same as above.
  • 2 x common_robe_02 – always check the cloth items when placed. They often require additional sinking into the surface to prevent float.

Bleeders (items poke through other items):

  • ingred_scuttle_01 bleeds through the bowl, sticking out from the side where the knife is. I suggest placing scuttle in plates, rather than bowls, because its curve also makes it float in bowls.
  • com_sack_02_saltrice_10 – bleeding sacks in a rule, but this one sinks into the floor too much. It’s a round sack near the crates.
  • furn_de_tapestry_13 – above the mage’s bed, bleeds through the ceiling beam with its rope.

Other:

  • The fireplace looks good. But this is something we call a kitbash (or cobbling) – an element assembled from the parts that were not designed for it. The problem is, experienced players recognize an asset when they see one. For example, they’ll know that this is an ashpit under a campfire. Use a dedicated Hlaalu fireplace from Tamriel Data instead.
  • White pillow on a bedroll is clashing. Just stick with the in-built pillow bedroll already has.
  • T_MwDe_Furn_U3Food – scaling statics is acceptable, but with some containers scaling becomes very noticeable. Especially, in the presence of similar containers. I suggest refraining from changing the scale of urns, crates, chests and barrels. And never rescale the miscs, of course.
  • Pillows on the beds sunk too deep. Sinking them is a rule, but only for 2-3 inches.
  • Pay attention to your carpets: their tassels should touch the floor. For example, you have a carpet on the second floor, tassels of which are 1 inch above floor, and this is noticeable if you stand on the stairs. Also, avoid placing furniture partially on a carpet and partially on the floor – you need to tilt such furniture.

Fix the above items, please. I should commend your item placement skills. And I really love the bottled bouket - a pretty neat idea.

Thank you for the feedback! I have fixed all the above issues to the best of my knowledge here is the fixed file!

*Edit made some slight further alterations to kitchen room layout as I wasnt happy with how cramped the corner became after the change in fireplace. Should be finished now.

Review 2

Good job fixing everything! I've got a few more suggestions before we can proceed with promotion.

  • Some of the sacks bleed too much. They are sunk all the way until the middle stitch. Especially, the ones on and around the crates. Raise them so no more than a quarter of a sack bleeds into the surface.
  • The green plate on the shelf in the kitchen is not resting properly on the surface below (it's floating), like other plates do.
  • I'm afraid, you lowered the tassel of the carpet near the drums so much that it disappeared from one of the sides. Remember to adjust your object movement in Preferences to smaller values (like, 0.05), to comfortably finetune such objects.
  • A pillow on the bottom bed of the bunk is still sinking too much. Use the same rule as with the sacks -- sink no more than a quarter of the pillow's height.
  • Belts are usually breaking the rules of fine placement due to their design. But in your case I suggest leaning the belt closer on the stacked robes. There's currently a gap between them. Again, use smaller movement values for ease.
  • bk_Mysticism is floating with one of its sides. Which needs to adjust the rotation of the book above it as well.
  • bk_ArcanaRestored is also floating slightly with one of its sides.
  • All of the sc_paper plain could be considered floating. There's 1 centimeter gap between them and the surface. Be careful when you'll drop them, because they tend to z-fight (their surface starts flickering during camera movement). In this case, raise the paper back a bit.
  • You can lock your chests by double-clicking on them and ticking the Lock box. Then you'll be able to enter a level of complexity for the lock (low level chests should have 10-40). Always use values in the increments of 5. Old TR had a propensity to give locks irregular values, like 38, 73, etc. Which looked off. Also, your chests could go without locking, but I'm writing you this just so you know how it works. When you're done with the lock, press Cancel to close the chest's property window (never press Save, unless you know what you're doing).
  • I think, it's important to hang another light source above the staircase. Like, a lantern on a rope.
  • Blueware bowls and the pitcher belong in the upper class interiors. Replace them with cheaper looking vessels. Refer to Hlaalu Style Guide for additional guidelines.
  • The firewood in the fireplace floats. Make sure to rotate it so it rests with at least 2 of its bottom points on a surface (ideally, with 3).

Fix the above, and you should be ready for promotion. Sorry for not reporting some of these items earlier. The first review was hasty, but I wanted to give you something to work on in between.
