Hi all, absolutely love TR and am exploring the newest version after a roughly 10-year hiatus from Morrowind in general. If this is the wrong forum for this, feel free to move it where it should be.

I'm just curious about TR's stance on Sixth House stuff. For one, do we even know lore-wise exactly where in Morrowind House Dagoth had their ancestral holdings? Was it only on Vvardenfell? Or are you holding off on possible mainland House Dagoth / MQ-related content till later?

I don't even think mainland Dagoth stuff necessarily has to include current Dagoth Ur stuff. Morrowind is a big place and I kind of doubt that Dagoth Ur would have been able by now to "reclaim" all of House Dagoth's old ruins / strongholds. Like an ancient Dagoth ruin in, say, the Sacred Lands region or Aanthirin would probably be beyond his direct reach (not likely to be actively inhabited by Ascended Sleepers etc.)

I could imagine some Tribunal Temple quests might direct a player to an ancient Dagoth hold that is still abandoned (save for animals or bandits or something) to recover some lost knowledge or relics, or even perhaps send a team to a particularly proment old Dagoth stronghold in order to fortify/cleanse it against possible current Sixth House habitation.

I guess one problem with presenting ancient Dagoth stuff would be aesthetic. In Vanilla, other than their color scheme and sigil, we don't really see any specific Dagoth stuff re: architecture/armor+weapon styles (unless I'm wrong and there are resources regarding that I'm not aware of).

I'm in love with TR, don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore all the content so far related to the currently-living Houses and the Empire. It does seem like given the existential threat Dagoth Ur poses that there would be more Dagoth stuff on the mainland. Of course the biggest threat is on Vvardenfell, and the Temple and government are doing their best to make it seem like it's not as big a problem as it is, so I wouldn't expect House Dagoth to be a major topic on the mainland necessarily.

Another thought re: House Dagoth: what if there were some sane (non-dreamer) dunmer who are actively sympathetic toward the Sixth House, whom Dagoth Ur hasn't even affected directly via dreams, but who just (misguidedly) support their mission, in actions and not just words? I could see an "evil" Ashlander faction doing so, or maybe even some Telvanni or Redoran (Faustian bargains in the hope of expelling the Empire). They did that a little bit in Vanilla with Orvas Dren, which at the time when he mentioned it I was like "WHAAAAAT" but wish they could have done a little more along that line.

One crazy idea would be that a member of the Temple in Necrom has recently decided to side with Dagoth Ur after reading the Apographa and plans to somehow sabotage the Ghostfence Machine and has to be stopped... (of course if the player has already completed the MQ then that would be null).

Or a specifically post-MQ quest could entail several factions (Tribunal Temple, Telvanni and/or Mages Guild) people trying to study/recover (or destroy/sequester) the pieces of (or plans/schematics for) Akulakhan...even though the Heart of Lorkhan is gone there might be someone crazy enough to attempt an Underking-esque soul gem method...

Just thoughts.

Okay I do have to point out your line of questioning is somewhat flawed since not only are house Dagoths homelands known, you visit their clan stead in vanilla's main questline, that being Kogoruhn. Likewise their range *was* along what is now vvardenfell and slightly further west, before the formation of the inner sea.

Now as to mainland content, at present our only plans are a few smugglers along the western inner sea trafficing ash statues, though there has been discussion around having something in necrom along the lines of what you mentioned.

Thanks for the link! I'm just getting into actually modding (mostly trying to learn the scripting and interested in writing NPCs and quests).

Since the last post is from 2021 I would be interested how content/ plans/ attitude stands cc. 3.5 years later?

Also: dreamers. By lore many who survived the fall of the 6.th House get incorporated to the other great houses, and many of them became dreamers in the Third Era.

The Dagoth Ancestral tomb between Vvardenfell and the Redoran Mainland will be the only place in TR that has Dagoth Priests spreading soul sickness to the nearby Falen Mar/Ildrim/Hassanour settlements. These sleepers will awake midway through the main quest. The Temple will have the player dispatch of the Ash Ghoul doing this, sort of akin to the Cleanse Gallom Daeus Vampire Den in vanilla. There will still be smugglers getting ash statues from the island to the velothis district and the mournhold district. There could even be plans for revolts later into the main quest that the ash statues had awoke dunmeri citizens in Indoril and Redoran territory that had Dagoth blood from their ancestors who were orphaned into the other houses as kids 4000 years ago.
Also once TR is finished, I am hopefully we can allow the player to join House Dagoth when they are offered it by Dagoth Gares. What that would entail would be to assasinate the Temple and Imperial Legion heads, kill the Tribunal, kill the Ashlanders, and spread the blight. The player would have no choice but to use the jerry rig route to restore Wraithguard from Yagrum Bagarn.

Thanks for the reply.

Dagoth Ancestral tomb: Nice - fine. Is one of the missing Ash Ghuls: Dagoth Mulis or Dagoth Aladus planned for this? (Because then I will not use that for other modding.)

Strange that House Hlaalu territory would be far less effected by sleepers than : "There could even be plans for revolts later into the main quest that the ash statues had awoke dunmeri citizens in Indoril and Redoran territory"

"join House Dagoth" - yeah well there are already mods for that - not my taste

Checked it as for places/ quests/ assets plans + to make sure there is no conflict in concepts. (An ancient old plan to improve the glloming and spreading dangers of blight/ dreamers/ Dagoth influence and the poor effectiveness of Ghostfence/ Vvardenfell Blight Quarantine.)
