The mushrooms from cyrodil are not being added to the browser, as they are in the grey area of Bethesda copyright.

I finally finished the new mushroom I was working on.
It comes in two variants, a small and a large one, each with its own mesh and texture.
Do with it whatever you like, but I'd love to see it ingame of course
Maybe this can be used for the Thirr River Valley Visual Update?

I really like it! I think it looks great and I hope we can use it in-game. Do you have an ingredient version of it?
Does: concepts, textures, youtube vids, admin stuff e.g. PR, handbook, assets, small website things. Activity level: wildly unpredictable. Still active. Find me on Discord.

Thank you Kaziem, I'm happy to hear that you like it.
I've made no ingredient for it yet, but that's a simple task

Today I stole two mushrooms from Oblivion and I like the result:

I don’t think plants from other provinces – even if they are mushrooms – should naturally grow in Morrowind, but I could see them popping up in Hlaalu gardens and the like. Your new mushrooms could work quite nicely in western Morrowind or Telvannis. For the most part, though, I’m not sure if we need too many traditional mushrooms.

Yes, they naturally shouldn’t grow in all of Morrowind Gnomey, I would only want to place the Wisp Stalks and Cairn Boletes in caves that are located very close to the border to Cyrodiil. I think that would be a fun hint at TES IV and give the players the feeling that there is another province across the border, even if they can’t get there (yet).
I’ve now also created ingredients for them with proper meshes, textures, icons and effects. All mushrooms (Amanita Muscaria, Cairn Bolete, Wisp Stalk) are now completely done and ready to be implemented into TR_Data, I’ve also named them correctly to our naming conventions.
Everything’s inside the file below, there’s even a small cave cell (TR Mushrooms) for testing them.

But this means that the creators of the project Tamriel will have to incorporate these mushrooms. Maybe you can create a discussion with them about flora and fauna of the border regions?

There not even close to being on the border of Morrowind, so I don’t think anyon eneeds to worry about this atm.

When you say “stole” do you mean you literally stole them or did you remodel them? Because, if they’re not your own work I don’t think we can use them.

I ported them over, which was enough work on its own, plus I made the ingredients and everything else. Bethesda has never cared about porting data files to other games of theirs, so there’s no problem with this. Project Cyrodiil also uses models from Oblivion.

Actually, Bethesda does seem to frown upon porting models over from one game to the other; back in the Oblivion days there was a big stink when people converted Morrowind models over to Oblivion, but it’s been so long ago I’ve forgotten the details. This is a pretty good summary of the situation I found after a quick search. While I can’t say for sure about Project Cyrodiil, I’d assume they’re either recreating Oblivion assets from scratch or are using assets from Oblivion modders, both of which are allowed.
When I wrote my last post I’d assumed you meant you’d ‘stolen’ the design, but yeah, anything that’s ported over I don’t think we should use.

Thank you klep, I’m happy to hear so.
I’ve now written and email asking for permission to use the two mushrooms meshes and textures in our mod files.
So, let’s just see what they’re going to reply, I’ll post their answer here as soon as I receive it.

If they do allow you to use the meshes. I think they should be altered so it isn’t a carbon copy from oblivion. That’s something I always find jarring with games Ubisoft makes, is that all their games recycle assets from other games they made (Assassins Creed assets used in Far Cry, etc..). I don’t want to be reminded of Oblivion when playing Morrowind as it was released before Oblivion, and so having models from the newer games are a bit iffy I find. Changing the model a little bit should clear this up though ;D.

Bethesda gave its stance on the matter of importing assets years ago, and while they don't seem to take any action if someone imports stuff from a game like The Witcher, every time someone as much as mentioned using things from their games, the answer was "No" and the discussions were locked.

Just so you know, we do have access to all of SHOTN (Skyrim: Home of the Nords) and P:C (Project:Cyrodiil) plants. I know that one or both do plan on updating their flora but we do have access to all those plants. These are original reworks of the fauna from Skyrim and Oblivion.

Oh, I wish I knew that beforehand lol. Well, at least I figured out a few things. So that leaves my Amanita Muscaria mushroom for possible use in TR. Could you please review it and if everything’s OK with it include in our data? You’re still responsible for that kind of stuff, right?

P:C and SHOTN do not use any assets from Oblivion (or Skyrim for that matter). All of our meshes and textures are home-brewn. TR has full access to all of our flora resources, but it should be noted that many of them are still low-quality placeholders.
