First, let me compliment everyone involved with this wonderful project. Your work is greatly appreciated by we connoisseurs of real game freedom and immersion! There may not comparitively many of us, but we know greatness when we see it.
I have upgraded, successfully to Tamirel Rebuilt 12.16. I must say that it is gorgeous.
I also downloaded the filepatcher but have no idea how to use it. (I don’t know that I need it since my save games work fine.) I just don’t want something in the background to be missing at a later date. Do I need yo use the file patcher if my game is operating just fine?
Again, congratulations on a wonderful mod that keeps Morrowing alive!

The file patcher is for upgrading from a pre-Tamriel Data release (16.03 and before) to a release that uses Tamriel Data (16.09 and newer), as the IDs of everything tamriel rebuilt adds got changed
If you are upgrading from 16.09 to 16.12 then you don’t need to use the file patcher. Also if you are downloading the mod for the first time you don’t need to use it.
