Spellstone

3 different grouped meshes made by me, comes with an ingredient and custom light

I mainly made this as an alternative to the crystals for natural light in caves

I haven’t planned any others, but I’d do that if there’s interest from the lead devs.

I’m not sure how best to use these; my tendency would be to primarily use them in Telvannis rather than in generic caves, or at least in eastern Morrowind, but I’m not sure if that’s the best approach. I do certainly think we should use them somewhere, though.

Subtle colour variations might be nice; something more purplish, something more greenish. If you do go that route, though, I’d really emphasize subtle, and that you leave the colours bluish and relatively washed out.

Edit: I pesonally would tend to suggest that the ingredient is relatively inexpensive and not very useful. This will allow the model to be used more widely, and I also sort of want to avoid glowing magic rocks = powerful.

I’m glad that you seem to like them Gnomey. It took me quite some time figuring out how to make glow like that and transparent (though it’s not that obvious in the screenshot). You can adjust and balance the ingredients as you like, what I did with them was solely a suggestion. The only thing I’d like to remain is the Spell Absorption effect, it’s the reason I named it Spellstone.

Additional colors aren’t something I want to do, Asylum only brought that up. I could easily make it more transparent or change its brightness if that’s something you’d like.

I don’t really think colour variations are necessary. I already like the current colour, glow and transparency. I’m not really enthusiastic about the name, though; the closest I’d go is to call it something like Welkynd Stone and probably place it mostly in caves on the western border, but in that case we’d probably want to check if Province Cyrodiil would be interested in the models for consistency’s sake.

Yeah. Spellstone doesn’t sound too good. But the model is nice :)

I like them. Could it have an ingredient that was actually just a small glowing rock, ie, a misc item?

Does: concepts, textures, youtube vids, admin stuff e.g. PR, handbook, assets, small website things. Activity level: wildly unpredictable. Still active. Find me on Discord.
