Hello. Im sorry if this isn't in the correct format. This isn't just my first post on here, but its also my first post anywhere. I did have a read through the guide on here about making a showcase, but I'm not sure quite how the process works. Do I just slap some work together and submit it, or do I get given a brief (like an interior style)?
I do have a bit of experience with the CS but haven't ever released anything to anyone other then friends so I'm not sure what kind of quality you guys will end up with!
Okay cheers,
Spud

Hey Spud,
It has been awhile for me so don't quote me. However that being said, if your looking to just do interiors, the best way is to create a small interior usually a house. Try not to mix styles such as dunmer and common. Also make sure to clean your file (can't remember the program name). The biggest thing is don't be afraid of alittle bit of critisism. Everyone here is just trying to help you get better. And if it takes a bit to get promoted or no one has looked at it yet don't get discouraged either. Everybody here is doing this on their free time. Someone will be around eventually to look at it and give you some pointers. Just be creative and try to avoid floaters as much as possible. Have fun.

Hello, Spud! We have three types of showcases: interior, exterior, and quest. Having one of these approved will allow you to work on the corresponding claim type.
For an interior showcase, follow the guidelines here: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/content/guidelines-interior-showcases
Basically, use _de_ furniture, 2 stories/multiple rooms, nicely cluttered. We pay particular attention to whether objects are resting on their surfaces appropriately (bleeding or floating), and whether the items you put in follow a general theme and are appropriately leveled (for example, don't put a Daedric dai-katana in a commoner's house).
I don't know as much about the exteriors myself, but here are the guidelines for the showcase: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/content/guidelines-exterior-showcases
For a quest showcase, you make a quest! http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/content/guidelines-quester-showcases
For quests, we are looking for cohency of the storyline, lore friendliness, good dialogue writing, and a working knowledge of how CS scripting works. (You don't need to be a wiz, just make sure the journal functions.) If you make a quest in TR's land, it may be suitble for inclusion in the final mod, but don't feel like this limits you to just TR stuff. If you don't have many ideas for a plotline, you can attempt creating one of the claims here: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/claims/quests
For more information or tutorials, check out our handbook: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/tr-handbook I hope to see something from you soon!

Okay thanks guys. I guess I'll go and make an interior. I'll post again when it's ready for reviewing.
Edit: And thanks for the warm welcome Koma and Kevaar! Really appreciated.

Hello again. I've been working on this interior. I think it's just about finished. I suspect it'll need a bit more done to it after it's been reviewed. I've been very careful to not make any of it dirty, but it's
possiblelikely that I've missed something. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about cleaning stuff, (small wonder then that my bedroom is a mess in real life lol). The interior is made up of three different interior cells all starting Spud's Interior Showcase. It's done in a Hlaalu style and is meant to be a guard's barracks. I hope it's all close to being up to scratch. Thanks in advance to whoever looks at this, Spud.

Hi Spud, thanks for submitting a showcase. This is quite a nice interior, and it's great to see creative use of the in_hlaalu set like the upper floor, but there are a few things that need correcting before you can be promoted.
First things first, your lighting values are still at the default levels (which are much too high). Have a look at the settings used in other interiors in Balmora for some sensible levels. On a related point, there aren't any lights placed in the interior (other than the small lantern on the upper floor); again, looking at how lighting refs have been used in Balmora is a good place to start. Also, inhabited interiors like this need to have "Illegal To Sleep Here" toggled on in the Interior Cell settings.
I like the upper room design, but currently there's a lot of flickering from overlapping on the ceiling; I'd recommend reworking using a one each of the "in_hlaalu_hallt_center" and "in_hlaalu_hallt_centerd" pieces.
On the main floor, there are at least three places where the ceiling isn't matching up correctly (see here). The in_hlaalu_hall and in_hlaalu_room sets can be difficult to combine because of problems like this, so keep it in mind when working on Hlaalu interiors.
Another issue (which is more of a subjective concern) is the scale on the kegstand and the banners outside the cell on the main floor. I'd recommend scaling the kegstand up a little (to around 0.7) and either scaling the banners in the cell to match the ones in the rest of the interior, or just swapping those two banners out for a different one and keeping the current scale.
On the positive side your file is clean, you've added a northmarker, and your ref placement is quite good (with a few minor errors listed below). I'm sure you'll have no problem fixing up the remaining problems with this showcase.
A list of general placement errors follows:
If you need any help, or elaboration on the errors I've indicated, please don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks Sirrah. I just noticed that the interior I uploaded was an old file. The newer one fixes light settings and ONE of the mismatched ceiling tiles that you mentioned. I must have missed the other two. I'll sort those out obviously. I also agree with you on the the subjective parts. I wasn't entirely happy with them myself, but was unsure what to do with it. I'm sure I can sort something out. The other bits and bobs shouldn't take too long either. Thanks for the quick response. I've been really impressed at how quickly things are done on this site, it really is a great community. I'll post the updated interior when I can.
Thanks again,
Spud

I've gone off and sorted out those problems. The upper section now looks less flickery. Huge thanks Sirrah for that one. I really liked to feel it gave to the room. I think those interior pieces look like they fit the tower parts of the hlaalu building really well. I didn't really want to have to change that.
I suspect there's still a couple of issues that'll get picked up.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the prompt resubmission, Spud. Just a handful more things that need work:
First, there's still one mismatched ceiling part on the main floor, in the bottom room leading to the basement.
The main interior cell really needs a couple more placed lights; chucking some light_de_lamps in the corners of rooms is an easy fix.
Something I forgot to mention in my last review is that the pillows should ideally bleed just a little further down into their beds; they're a little bit floaty at the moment.
The few remaining errors are listed below:
Fix these up and I'll be happy to recommend you for promotion!

Sorry about the slow response. Been busy over the summer.
I didn't want anyone going round getting rid of all the unactive accounts and thinking that I had just left (by the way, does that actually happen? What sort of time scale can I leave it before logging in?). I'm still alive and kicking. I'll get that interior sorted within the next couple of days and post it again. Thanks to everyone here.

Great to hear you're back, Spud. I don't think accounts get deleted for inactivity, so no need to rush (though of course, I'd love to see your showcase sonner rather than later; it's looking great so far!)
