Hi,

Sorry for simple questions I'm new here and still reading through through thinkgs to make sure everything I do fits with the rules and convetions.. And I'd rather make sure somethings correct first time rather than having to come back & fix it later..

At this stage I'm making a couple of generic Ancestral Tombs although I haven't claimed any space in the game yet. At the moment I'm making any new textures on anything just placing items in the CS. However I will obviously need new keys for any locked doors, and will need unique NPCs, I've read through the naming convention page but NPCs & keys are not listed.

I see that in TR_Data the keys are named T_Com_Key_01 etc. If I was to name my keys as T_Com_Key_NameOfTomb would that work? Would it then get sorted out or renamed when the area was approved? Similarly with the NPCs, I see they are named TR_m1_FirstName_LastName. If I were to name my NPCs TR_NameOf Tomb_FirstName_LastName, would that be ok to start?

Lastly, when I do get around to making new textures for things TR requires textures 4x the size of the original of Morrowind textures. Is there a 4x textures pack that it is acceptable / approved to use textures from as a base to start from, so I'm not using anyone elses files without permission? So for example if I wanted to make a yellow stoneflower (Example only, I don't plan on making it) I could start with the 4x texture & re-colour & paint on it rather than having to remake or upscale from the original all the parts that I want to keep the same.

Thank you..

Hello.

Is this for a showcase you want to do?

Yes, my first attempt at showing what I can do, and hopefully presenting something useable in the process.

Generally most things I have made in the past have been for personal use, so haven't needed to conform to anyone elses format or layouts. As long as it worked it didn't matter how it was named or what folder it was in.

(Just read back my original post, it should have said "At the moment I am NOT making any new textures on anything, just placing items in the CS..)

In that case, you'd want to make a showcase here: https://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/forums/developer-showcase

Assets are provided via tamriel data and the base game. So for making an interior you can also see: https://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/content/guidelines-interior-showcases

Let me know if you need help. Most people make a hlaalu house for showcase but a tomb could work too if medium sized and cluttered well enough if you are a dungeon sort of person.

My showcase is currently under review, but not by any means finished yet...

Back to my original question, is there a 4x texture pack that is acceptable and approved to use when making textures for use with TR?

Thank you.

There is a HD texture pack and a vanilla one.

SD typically targets 256x256

HD targets 1024x1024

We do not include any upscaled vanilla textures if there are no edits. The texture Has to be different or new.
