I'm having a heck of a time trying to open up TR in TES Construction Set. I have the Steam GOTY edition and did get that fixed version of TES CS that runs the GOTY edition. When I attempt to load up TR (along with MW, BM and TB) I get a looooong series of errors starting with "Could not find sound 'wind calm1' in load for region 'Mournhold Region'." I'm new to modding so I'm not sure if it is something completely obvious. I've tried looking up any details to this and been stumped.

A bunch of "previous string" errors are normal and you need to get past those with Cancel/Yes to all,
Your "wind calm" one sounds like an issue with Tribunal, not TR. Can you load Tribunal in the CS to begin with? else you might have corrupted files from steam/CS/something else and need to reinstall

Assuming you haven't done anything to your Tribunal files, then it does that normally. Basically the CS complains when something edits or differs from the master file Morrowind, including their own official expansions! Rot linked to how to click through all the errors without killing your clicky finger. :)

See, I though it might be Tribunal that was corrupted so I downloaded it again a couple weeks ago. Still had the same issue. The problem is.....when I manage to click through ALL of the errors (more like holding down the enter key for a couple minutes using a lip balm and a heavy object) it eventually crashes. Everything from Tribunal is apparently 'missing'. Sigh. I'll try downloading it again.

If that still doesn't work maybe it's an issue with the CS? If you're Windows and it's something you installed yourself on the side in Program Files, there might be UAC issues (try executing the CS as admin?)

Do you minimize or navigate away from the CS window while it's loading? Sometimes that will result in a crash (and perhaps your mouse continuing to click once all the error messages are gone similarly confuses it). Does it crash if you make use of Yes to All/Cancel or have you only tried it with clicking through all the error messages?

I'm just going to delete the whole Morrowind folder shebang and do a fresh reinstall of everything. Tried reinstalling TESCS and didn't have any luck, didn't have any luck with running as an administrator.

I experimented with installing the mods and I discovered that having any other ESMs beside Morrowind, Tribunal, Bloodmoon, Tamriel_Data and TR_Mainland cause the massive number of errors. The other ESMs don't even have to be 'activated' to cause the error, just present in the Data folder. Is there something in the Morrowind.ini file that I'm missing?

I don't understand this.
By ESM do you mean any other CS files you put in there or ESM specifically? For instance if you grab the esp from this link, does that still throw errors?
(that's just for testing btw - by and large using the ESP version of mainland is functional to play with but it would cause issues with plugins that are meant to modify TR content like TR_Travels, those need the ESM)

As long as it's just Morrowind, Bloodmoon, Tribunal, TR_Mainland and Tamriel_Data, everything is fine. Add in any other ESMs to the Data folder and then it causes problems. But no ESPs seem to cause the issue, even with TR_Travels or TR_Preview.

Ok I misread, if it's not the TR ESMs then what ESMs in particular is it that seem to be giving you CS errors just by being present(??) in the folder? (still talking about the CS and the same tribunal errors, right?)
The CS isn't supposed to load anything you haven't checked unless it's in the masters list of one of the files you've checked (list on the right when a plugin is selected). Sometimes the CS can crash when trying to load certain ESMs that way (ie if the ESM is in the masters list of one of the files you checked, but you haven't checked that ESM yourself), that's the only possibility I can imagine here but it would mean you're also checking other plugins in the CS?

It seems to involve ESMs that use Tribunal as one of the masters, like GS_Nature (a texture/graphics overhaul package) or H.E.L.L.U.V.A mods. It's really odd because as long as those ESMs are in the Data folder, even if they are not activated, it will crash CS. I tried deleting any data that those mods installed in folders like Meshes and Textures just to see if that would resolve it, but as long as the ESMs are present it still crashes. It's like as soon as any additional ESMs are in the folder (besides MW, BM, TB, TR_D and TR_M) CS gets completely confused. I've tried looking to see if there was anything I could do with the Morrowind.ini file in regards to ESMs (like how you have to register the BSAs when installing TR) but no luck.

Morrowind.ini only has a "load list" of all the mods you've checked to play with in the launcher's Data Files (or other load list management tools) but AFAIK that's not supposed to affect the CS. And if you haven't checked them in Data Files they shouldn't be in that file at all... there MIGHT be a possibility of it getting corrupted and no longer finding the Tribunal BSA?:
so maybe get a clean new Morrowind.ini and make sure that game list is at the bottom,
Or try to temporarily disable the windows UAC if you have that on? Otherwise out of ideas sorry.

I'll try it. I guess if I want to do anything with CS and TR I'll just have to make like a 'clean copy' of my Morrowind folder and contents and save them somewhere for modding. Why do I get all the weird problems?
