So, I completed the Vvardenfell Telvanni questline, and became the new Archmagister. Also did a bunch of stuff involving Rise of House Telvanni and Uvirith's Legacy, but never mind that. I decided to head to Port Telvannis, check out the TR stuff, and joined the mainland Telvanni, gaining an initial starting rank of Spellwright. So, I do a bunch of quests -- every single one described in the wiki (http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Tes3Mod:Tamriel_Rebuilt/Mainland_Great_House_Tel...), in fact -- and ask Vero for advancement. He says I meet the requirements, but that I haven't done enough chores for the House. So, I'm stuck at Spellwright, despite having done all the chores. Is this a bug, or is the mod just incomplete in that regard? It's hard to tell, for a mod like this.

The questline for mainland Telvanni isn't complete. For what I understand reading the various sunday reports Vvardenfell and mainland factions will be integrated soon, maybe that will solve the rank problem?

It should, although I think applying it retroactively to an existing save might be tricky. From what I understand it should mostly be similar to how the Guild Unification plugin is set-up, and that one unifies the Telvanni and makes becoming Archmagister of the Telvanni through the Vvardenfell quests mean that you are Archmagister of the Telvanni on the mainland. There was a minor dialogue issue, but it did not break anything (just had dialogue referring to separate branches), and I would presume it will be fixed for the TR proper faction unification (or the TR Factions plugin, at least).
Prior to this the Telvanni were indeed imcomplete - the same dialogue I refer to also had an OOC comment about it being the current end of the Telvanni storyline and to wait for future releases.

You probably won't advance in mainland factions if you've joined at a high rank, because the rank transfer scheme gave you that rank yet didn't give you the faction reputation required to achieve it in the first place. So you're starting from 0 reputation and after all available quests you might not achieve enough for your current rank, much less the next one.
That was a consternating discovery given that this implementation must have been around since the first releases of TR and nobody must have ever noticed since, but it will indeed become irrelevant with the faction merge so I never bothered making it a bug report.

To tell the truth I always assumed it was basically intentional until enough quests could be made for the mainland factions.
