Tamriel Rebuilt, the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind modding project, is proud to release the mini-expansion Firemoth Rekindled. This update is meant to accompany the huge new mod Project Cyrodiil: Abecean Shores [REMOVE BEFORE LAUNCH – LINK AS TRAILER], just released by our friends at Project Tamriel.
In Firemoth Rekindled, re-conquer Bethesda’s original Siege at Firemoth, now entirely revamped and expanded by our team, and rekindle the Imperial Legion’s watch over the Inner Sea as you rebuild the ransacked fortress. Additionally, 50 new quests have been added all across Morrowind’s mainland. Experience the conclusion to our Telvanni questline, a melancholy epilogue to Morrowind’s main quest, and much more.

For decades now, the dread lich Grurn has ruled the fortress of Firemoth unopposed with an army of foul undead, besmirching the honor of the Empire and defiling one of the Legion’s holy relics, the Ward of Akavir. Now, as dark clouds gather over Vvardenfell, Lord General Caecalia Victrix in Old Ebonheart is seeking to reclaim the fortress and secure the Empire’s flank in the province. A strike team of renowned adventurers is being assembled in Seyda Neen – join them and reclaim the Legion’s honor. Should you succeed in this task, a high-ranking Imperial Legion player may even find themselves the commandant of Firemoth with the duty to rebuild it into a center of Imperial strength.
Siege at Firemoth, released in 2002, was a quick-and-dirty plugin intended by Bethesda to be a showcase of the power of the Construction Set. Given this limited aim, it lacked the polish of the main game and looked decidedly rushed and out of place. This overhaul allows us to make Firemoth shine, gives the Imperial Legion player a stronghold of their own to rival the vanilla Great Houses, and allows us to integrate this striking location into the mainland questlines.
Those who prefer the original Firemoth will, of course, find an optional patch to turn our revamp off, allowing them to load the original plugin as Todd intended.
Master Vaerin in Alt Bosara will grant you rewards of great power, should you be willing to do some dirty work.
Players with less flattering views of the Empire may instead be interested to hear that Mistress Rathra and Master Vaerin on the mainland now have a series of difficult, but rewarding tasks available to less scrupulous Telvanni mages. Should you earn their or Master Mithras’ trust, they may just support you in overthrowing Archmagister Dral, an absentee but incredibly powerful warlock that rules House Telvanni on the mainland.
Returning from the epic confrontation with Dagoth Ur, players will now find the Tribunal priesthood in the holy city of Necrom troubled, the Ordinators in disarray. Dive into the origins of Tribunal faith, reforge the soul of Alandro Sul, and discover Saint Nerevar’s final humiliation in our long-teased epilogue to the Morrowind main quest – Foul Murder.
The above snippets only cover some of what the Firemoth Rekindled expansion offers. Further items include several new Dreugh citadels and coves scattered around Telvannis, a full revamp and expansion of East Empire Company content in Old Ebonheart, a new Chimer stronghold complete with quests in the Aanthirin region, as well as literally hundreds of bugfixes and consistency tweaks – see all of them in the changelog.
But most importantly, be sure to check out the newly released Project Cyrodiil: Abecean Shores, to which this Tamriel Rebuilt expansion is a companion to. Project Cyrodiil aims to remake the Imperial province according to the lore of TES III, being very distinct from TES IV: Oblivion and at a much larger world scale. This first expansion brings you the wealthy Kingdom of Anvil and a huge chunk of the Abecean Sea – marvel at the golden fields of the Strident Coast, the damp jungles of the Dasek Marsh and dive for forgotten treasure on the intricately detailed Abecean seafloor.
Over 150 new quests will have you battle pirates, uncover plots against the throne and swindle the stock exchange. Several questlines are present for each of the vanilla Imperial guilds, as well as the wholly new Itinerant Priests and Kingdom of Anvil factions.
The ancient priesthoods of the Great Faiths have little need for uneducated adventurers, but the Itinerant Priests will take you in.
Project Cyrodiil is designed from the ground-up to be compatible with Tamriel Rebuilt – in fact, it is made by many of the same developers – and players of both mods will even find a cross-province integration quest leading you from mainland Morrowind to Cyrodiil.

Tamriel Rebuilt remains fast at work on our upcoming major expansion Grasping Fortune, which aims to bring you a giant chunk of Morrowind’s southwest along with the metropolis of Narsis. As most needed questlines for this new release are already done, expect a relatively short turnaround next time.
If you would like to join us in our quest to complete the world of Morrowind – or in Project Cyrodiil’s quest of bringing the Imperial Province to life – consider joining us. Many hands make short work and Morrowind modding is famously easy to get started in, no small thanks to Morrowind community’s ever-improving toolset. In the meanwhile, please enjoy Firemoth Rekindled and Abecean Shores! And should you run into any bugs, be sure to report them!

I don't know that I'd slot it in as our 8th expansion since it isn't huge nor does it get a release banner. Should just be considered a very large update like that bit of landmass with Bosmora that got added to Sacred East.
