Found this little gem tucked away in the Imperial Library. Might be of interest: apparently Ashlanders outnumbered the House Dunmer. Also, Dunmer using ash as part of their divinations.

It's definitely an interesting read but I would take this with a mountain of salt. It really does not represent Morrowind as we see in-game nor what is presented anywhere else. I can see us using ash for divination maybe, but not as it's presented here. Everything else seems contrary to what has already been decided.

This text has been discussed here, and in the end gro-Dhal supplied a TR-friendly version of the text. (Which I’d either managed to overlook or forgot about, actually). It is indeed contrary to everything else by design.
