as the title says I have these yellow missing models all over the place when visiting the mainland, but I don't get any messages about anything missing.
I have registered the bsa files in morrowind.ini and no idea what's wrong.

Have you installed the latest Tamriel_Data version 10.1 from Nexus or this website? It sounds like Tamriel_Data assets aren't found. I'd try to download and install it again, making sure that the Meshes, Textures, etc folders within are copied over directly into your Data Files folder (or otherwise correctly registered in your mod manager, should you use one).
By the way, we no longer require bsa registration, as Tamriel_Data assets are now packaged as loose files. Some tutorials that have not been updated may still have that advice, though.
