Missing Telvanni meshes?

Hello

I thing I somehow messed up some of my textures regarding the TR Telvanni guards. They appear as the yellow error, all of them – not a specific part of the armor or such.

The only thing I can thing of that might have caused this is “Telvanni Cephalopod Armor” and the related guard armor replacer. I have a bug where the original Telvanni guards in morrowind appear without any armor at all. It’ot a texture or mesh bug. No, they do not wear any armor at all and walk around in just pants. This is a bug that only effects the Telvanni guards in original Morrowind. The Telvanni guards in TR have the missing mesh error.

Seems like a big coincidence that I would have two different problems with two different versions of the same type of guard without there being a connection, right? This problem still remains even thou I have removed the mod and started a new character.

Well, thats not the problem I am here for. I just thought that I would mention it because it seems so strange to me. Since I do not undarstand the creation kit or anything of that sort I will post all of my warnings. Forgive me if it seems a bit much:

My original idea to solve the issue was to re-install TR_rebuilt. That did not work. I thought of just replace the textures that seems to be missing or whatever. But I can’t find them and I don’t really know where to look.

The problem at the mainland with the whole telvanni guards not using their armor I can live with. Ill just ignore it since I wont be spending much time there (playing redoran this time). But I can’t play TR_rebuilt for the first time and constantly be annoyed by this. It will drive me crazy. :P

Update:

I have found and confirmed the following:

The vanilla morrowind Telvanni guards in Sadrith Mora etc have their armor but wont equip it. When I kill one of them and put that armor on – it works as usual. The meshes and textures looks good.

When I kill a guard Port Telvanni (where I get the yellow error) and loot them I can see that the mudcrab armor doesn’t have a proper Icon.

One is an equip issue while the other is a mesh issue. So they shouldn’t be the same problem, no?

I solved the problem with the “missing” meshes… I just forgot to run the BSAreg after doing some mod changes. I guess that effected TR in a negative way.

Still haven’t figured out the part with the vanilla telvanni guards. But thats not a TR problem.

The naked guards might be because something upset their skill levels (I think they only start equipping armour when their respective skill level is 45 or above).

Good to hear that you sorted out your BSA problems! These are ususally terrible to nail down and keeping an eye on your Morrowind.ini’s BSA list only seems to help half of the time.

I’ve just registered to post this issue.

Looks like this site http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/downloads/main-release lacks the information about mentioned TR_Data.bsa
Since I didn’t play with Tamriel Rebuilt for about 5 years I’ve just forgot about it. But what with new players? There’s no information about it in any place. Site mentions readme file, but there is none such file in those archives.

The readme is in the TamrielRebuilt_16-03.7z under \Docs\, as is standard these days. The BSA is also on the FAQ page (which is scheduled for an overhaul where we think this should be question #1).

Since we’ll need to aggressively demand people to register an additional BSA with the next release, we’ll probably put that on the main release page as well, good idea there.
