I'm so close. I've gotten the mod to work, and managed to make my way to the mainland. However, before too long, I ran into those oh-too-lovely "missing .nif files" indicators.
I looked it up, and saw that I need to register the .bsa files.
I already did that, so I kept reading, and saw later Windows versions might cause problems as well, since their advanced security measures are too much for Morrowind to handle.
So, I moved the game file to C:Games. Now the game is throwing a hissy fit and throwing up a "Application load error 5:0000065434" message, meaning something apparently doesn't like its new location, likely Script Extender, which I kinda need.
So now what? Where do I go from here?
EDIT:: I moved my entire Steam folder from C: > Program Files (x86) to C: > Games. After a few more adjustments and readjustments, I no longer got the warnings. I recommend the site owners adjust the FAQ to include moving the entire Steam folder as a possible fix. However, it is up to them.

This is a bit difficult to troubleshoot, but seems to be a problem with Steam. Check here for a potential solution.

I'm afraid that didn't help at all. Perhaps there is another solution? I'll look around on Steam's end.
