Some Topics Still Act Like Vvardenfell is Everything

Description:

A lot of topics still trigger Vvardenfell-centric dialogue responses, the one I ran into here specifically and egregiously starting a description of House Hlaalu by stating that it's one of the three houses with holdings on Vvardenfell. This is also coming from an Indoril noble who seems to have a strangely admirable view of a Great House her people are in direct conflict with.

This should be fixed on a

This should be fixed on a fundamental level with recent Data changes that block vanilla's generic dialogue. Should double check before writing off this issue entirely, though.

The topic "Morrowind"

The topic "Morrowind" certainly still has some Vvardenfell centric lines that apparently were reused for the new generic TR entries. I would consider modifying/replacing those. The relevant classes/factions are Savant, Noble, and Imperial Legion (including Skyrim/Cyrodiil variants in Tamriel_Data. These also have the typo "Vvardenfel" carried over from the original game files - I have not checked whether Patch for Purists has fixed this).

Bumping this so it's back on

Bumping this so it's back on the radar. This "bug" needs a clearly defined scope on which topics need changes, otherwise it's never going to happen. Concrete offenders:

  • "Morrowind" - The line for non-Dunmer nobles explicitly mentions Vvardenfell in an inappropriate way, and many of the other lines, like the ones for Legion knights and IC priests, place an unduly large emphasis on Vvardenfell
  • All the "House X" topics - They have lines about how a house has or hasn't got holdings on Vvardenfell, which is not fitting for any mainland location.
  • "cure skooma addiction" - this is a topic with missing nolore filters in vanilla, so we can't get rid of it entirely, but we can stop all our NPCs sending you to jobasha in vivec for the book (it's not a unique book, it's in other places too, even in vanilla)
  • "Vampires of Vvardenfell" - same issue as above, for an even more common book
  • "Chronicles of Nchuleft" - same issue, and for a very common book, although only specifically for Khajiit booksellers. The worst thing is that the one Khajiit bookseller TR has actually sells a copy, yet still sends you to jobasha
  • "Galur Rithari's papers" - edge case. It's very rare (though not unique), and so all booksellers pointing you to Vivec might be acceptable. At least this one doesn't mention Jobasha by name.
  • "geography of Vvardenfell" - this topic is filtered correctly in vanilla and only shows up on TR NPCs because it was duplicated. Considering that we're not doing equivalent "geography of" topics for all the other regions, mainland savants should not have a response here.
  • "settlements in Morrowind" - this lists a bunch of different kinds of settlements as example, all of which are located on Vvardenfell. This needs to be broadened for mainland NPCs.

All of these are TR-created duplicates of vanilla lines, so changing the duplicate is enough. Make sure to first determine if the line is in TD or in TR itself so the fix can be applied to the correct .esm. In case we find a line that isn't duplicated in TR but that shows up because of bad vanilla filtering (no nolore filter), create a new line for TR NPCs with alternate content.
