There are several issues when animated on character:
"chitin:
"chitin _3: chitin crescent bits shake apart at tops when walking and loosen where they're supposed to be attached chestplate unequally parted off chest, emptiness seen through from back
"ragman: sharp end of spauldron bleeds in and out through shouldercloth when walking end of upper clothstrip blink-clips when walking lower clothstrip clips with robe and brown texture at thigh when walking
"dres warrior: gem and its thick casing on abdomen get shear deformation as if soft clothing material.
First file contains the original meshes, I’ve also attached fixed meshes – mostly weight painting and some edits for the above issues. Also removed double vertices and imperial boots (there were imperial boots inside one robe) (?? :p)
If someone else can look at them that’s great, otherwise this will have to count as a review
Based on screens, these robes are wonderful designs. Ashstaar nailed the look of the original concept art. I am a little apprehensive about how they were stitched together, The issues you mentioned sound concerning, Rot. To what extent are they still noticeable with your fixes? If they aren’t too problematic, I would go ahead and add them to data. Otherwise, we could maybe ask someone who has modeled clothing over at Project Tamriel to take a look at them.
It would also help to have some of Ashstaar’s shirts included as well. Our selection of Dunmeri clothing is fairly lacking, and these simplier items shouldn’t have as many issues as his more complex robes and armor. Unfortunately, it seems the files for a lot of these have dissapeared from the former model claims. I’m not sure which thread we can locate them in.
Hm, personally, I think the models look quite nice, but I’d much prefer if the robes got new, tailor-made (no pun intended) textures. The current textures clash quite a bit, in my opinion, both stylistically but especially in resolution. The chitin textures especially stand out to me in a bad way.
Definitely need new or at least polished textures.
Does: concepts, textures, youtube vids, admin stuff e.g. PR, handbook, assets, small website things. Activity level: wildly unpredictable. Still active. Find me on Discord.
Yes they were rendered inaccessible when the model claims were for some reason all moved into non-claim threads, the files aren’t lost though. I’m posting them a few at a time to not flood too much and let people who hadn’t seen all this before process them – the shirts are indeed next in line! If you want to post some yourself Atrayonis has access to the backed up files.
That one can be a “Common robe”, but what would be names for the other ones? Aren’t they too specific or martial to fit the Common/Expensive/Extravagant naming pattern? (placeholder names would do for now, unlikely to appear ingame other than on the odd Dres character up north)
We can slot the dres ones under expensive, I’d say, based on how they look. Of course, the id should plainly state that they’re reserved for Dres characters only. That’s the most important detail.
