Description:

There's a cave called Marisanibal in map 2 which heavily implies that an enslaved alchemist named Sugar-Tooth, along with several other slaves, is being forced to cook ludicrous quantities of moonsugar out of marshmerrow. The cave complex has an insane number of crates, barrels, sacks, and chests containing levelled lists for large quantities of skooma, moonsugar, marshmerrow, and alchemical apparatuses. There are several problems with this:

  • That is an insane amount of loot for a cave guarded by like six smugglers levelled 4 to 12.
  • It "explains" what moonsugar is made of, and makes the answer be a common plant in Morrowind, rather than something endemic to Elsweyr.
  • The guy's name is Sugar-Tooth, which sounds like an Argonian name if anything, but he's a Khajiit.
  • It's an independent operation, with none of the NPCs belonging to the Camonna Tong.

It's possible that this cave

Revane's picture

It's possible that this cave was edited since the bug report was made, so I might be looking at a different version of it. Going by *what's there now*:

  • You're right about there being too much loot and too little resistance.
  • Moon Sugar being made from Marshmerrow is a misunderstanding. It's just one of the things this particular group of cooks mix into their skooma.
  • Sugar-Tooth is clearly a nickname. Nothing wrong about that.
  • The Camonna Tong aren't very present in Telvannis, there is no reason a skooma cooking operation here is necessarily connected to them.

Fixes:

  • Culled some of the skooma and moon sugar where it was quick to do. All the extra apparatus crates too. This cave has too many containers in general, so nobody's going to miss a few.
  • I specifically removed all instances of the unique TR crate that could spawn 20 skooma and deleted that now-unused object.
  • Buffed all the outlaws (range from lvl 10 to 24 for the boss now).
  • Removed the Trainer flags from hostile NPCs.
  • Removed random key spawn from the boss.
  • Fixed all the items badly bleeding into the table with the rug (and one piece of paper slightly bleeding on another table)
  • Removed the human meat from the nix-hound pit.
  • Removed one technically correct but extremely weird-looking balancing crate.
  • Fixed beard/hair mismatch on one NPC.
